a few weeks ago I was driving on 441 and drove past men doing lawn work. as I passed a guy weed whacking I heard a loud bang on my car. I pulled into the next street and noticed my windshield was cracked and a ding on the exterior roof by my windshield. I went back and spoke to the guy who was weed whacking and he said I would need to speak to his boss Troy. I called the business and couldn't believe the way Troy, the owner spoke to me just for suggesting his employee had caused the issue. I was screamed at and insulted. I've never had that kind of reaction talking to the owner of a business in this way. I was not trying to give him a hard time but this guy went off!!! I see the reviews and completely see that this guy has serious issues!! he offered no compensation as even said it wasn't possible for a weed wacker to throw a rock hard enough to crack a windshield! is he serious!!! long story short, stay clear of Troy and his "business" this guy is crazy!!! read more

I actually won't be doing business with this company ever. The owner of this small business and I frequent the same restaurant. On more than one occasion I have first HAND seen how awful he treats restaurant workers. If he was a female he would be a full on Karen. On my last visit not only did he belittle the poor young women taking his order. He also thought it would be a great idea to "mansplain" several things to this women. If you're going to be a jerk to other people in public, don't double park your oversized work truck in the parking lot. (You know? The one that has your business name plastered all over it?) In addition next time don't wear a t-shirt with your business name to a place where you plan on making a scene in front of the entire restaurant. If you don't know how to act in public then maybe you shouldn't be the face of your own business. I would hate to see how he treats other strangers. I refuse to support a business owner who doesn't know that other people are human and have feelings too. It's disgusting. read more

If I could give Dobbertin a '0' stars I would! Buyer beware and do NOT hire this company for your landscaping needs. Troy the owner is disrespectful, dishonest, and unreliable!! He provided a quote for some landscaping work, including trimming bushes, re-edging, and mulching - and promised no later than three weeks to have it completed. I had just had a bunch of beautiful perennials installed last year, and confirmed with him that his guys would be careful to keep the plants, when weeding. We had to call him daily after three weeks to find out the status on when they'd be coming. Finally, his guys came and edged and weeded - including ALL of the new perennials - completely obliterated! When I called Troy to discuss, he said, "I don't need this hassle, I'm way too busy." Took no responsibility for the torn out plants, and said he would not come back to finish the project, and then hung up on me. WOW! This guy's a hack and he has one of the worst approaches to customer service I've ever encountered. STAY AWAY!! read more

We hired Dobbertin to do fall cleanup at our new house in October. MONTHS went by (and several phone calls!) before they finally showed up in JANUARY to do the fall clean up. The original quote included leaves, gutter cleaning, and some various trimming/pruning. When they came in January, all they did was clear leaves from my property and dump them down the ravine. We later received a bill from Dobbertin that was MUCH higher than the original quote despite the fact that they did not do everything that we originally hired them to do. Their reasoning was that the leaves were wet (yes, it is January in upstate NY) and we added a fence since the original quote was given. Yes, we did add a fence, nearly TWO MONTHS after we hired you to do our yard cleanup. Mind you, we were home during the time that Dobbertin was at our house doing the yard clean up and not once did someone come to the door to explain that it was going to be more work and more costly than originally quoted. We were not happy with the yard cleanup itself as many leaves were left in/around the garden and under trees that border our property. I could not be more dissatisfied with our experience with Dobbertin. They certainly lost any future business with us and I urge you to use a more honest, reputable company for your landscape needs. read more
