Have you ever been to a clinic that is so poorly managed, you wonder how it could be in business? That is DOCS Urgent Care of North Haven. This review is based on my experience at the North Haven location on Saturday, Jan 8, 2022 and Sunday, Jan 9, 2022. There are so many red flags, so please be cautious when making an appointment and coming here for any sort of medical ailment. I made an appointment for a COVID test the day before, spent time filling out paperwork, and downloaded a mobile app to ensure that I would be set for my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I sat in my car and checked in. With COVID restrictions, I wanted to avoid waiting inside and sat in my car waiting for them to call me back. I waited for a good 15 minutes and nobody ever called me. I even called, but nobody picks up the phone. I also used the online app messenger and it said I would get a response in two hours or less. I saw a huge line forming outside, so I decided to wait in line with others. Red flag #1: They don't have an online check-in system. Red flag #2: Nobody answers the phone. Red flag #3: The messenger on the website is pointless. After waiting in line for another 45 minutes, I was able to finally talk to someone who wanted me to fill out paperwork. I explained that I did all of the paperwork online and they couldn't see it. She was confused, so spent some time looking for it and then she found it. Red flag #4: They can't see your paperwork already done in advance. I then went to take my test and the person told me I would have my results in an hour, but plan on two hours. I never got my results. I called, emailed, and used the messenger on the website. Red flag #5: They never sent my results. I then drove all the way back the next morning to explain my results were missing. I waited in line again. The guy said that they forgot to upload them! I was shocked. He printed them and said they would upload them. Red flag #6: They forgot to upload my results. With so many red flags here, you can see the clinic is poorly managed. The employees were doing their best with what resources they had. Not a manager or doctor on-site, which really makes me wonder how this place operates. My experience is based on my personal visits. If it wasn't for me advocating for myself to get my results on my own, I am not sure I would have received them. Red flag #7: The mobile app still doesn't show my results. Advocate for yourself at this location. They have an email address on their check-in window, but I am not sure how often they check it. Here it is: northhaven@docsofct.com I had a horrible experience and suggest you find an urgent care that has on-site management that is able to handle their patient's needs. If you read other reviews, you can see people had similar experiences, so just be cautious and advocate for yourself.

I would come here again if I knew exactly what I needed. I arrived about an hour before it closed on a weekday for a bad reaction to bug bites. There were two other parties who arrived about the same time I did. I was a little thrown off when I was asked in the wide-open why I was here. At other urgent care centers, I have had the opportunity to write it down on a piece of paper for privacy. I saw Dr. Manchandani, who was not the warmest doctor, but I think he could tell I already knew what my issue was and that I was a pretty straightforward patient. He didn't bat an eye when I had additional questions for him. The exam room was clean, but you could tell it was a little worn. Overall, it took me just over an hour to get in and get out. I believe the doctor I saw was the only one working at that hour.

Then I found this place (because the other DOCS location was closed.) We took a shot and drove straight there, my father and I.

I love the way he listens and addresses our questions. His bio says: Robert Jones, MD, a board-certified Family Medicine physician, offers comprehensive care, that also addresses the psychosocial needs of his patients, paired with kindness and compassion. Dr. Jones, a former high school science teacher, educates his patients on the nature of their illness, treatment options and specialist care backed by clinical studies and research. He includes patients as part of a shared decision-making process.Dr. Jones received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados and completed his residency at his undergraduate alma mater, Stony Brook University, in Stony Brook, New York

I can't speak to the entire group because there are some great doctors there. However, this review…read moreis about ONE particular provider in the group, Vikram Rao, whom I had entrusted with my medical care since February 2020. Last week I discovered how unethical he is and I would not allow him to treat my dog! Do not become a patient of Vikram Rao. If you value your health and wellbeing, I suggest that you not become a patient of this doctor at Northeast Medical Group, 4A Devine St in North Haven Ct. I trusted him as my primary physician for almost 4 years now, only to recently discover that he does not document all of the medical visits or treatments that he provides. Last week I needed documented medical information from my records to take to a specialist, only to find out that he had not documented anything about my condition yet had been prescribing medication to me for this condition for well over a year. I am devastated, not knowing what to do about the information I need for the specialist. I now have to find a new PCP for treatment of this condition and begin this horrendous process all over again. What Vikram Rao did (I refuse to refer to him as a doctor) is unconscionable and he needs to be held accountable for his actions. I was advised to report this to the Department of Public Health Provider Licensing Investigation Unit and I fully intend to do so. Since he works for Northeast Medical Group, which is a part of Yale New Haven Health, I was also advised to make his superiors aware of this matter. He took an oath to "do no harm", yet that is exactly what he has done to me. There are reviews from other patients about his care on the Healthgrade website, I wish I had seen them sooner. I would never have entrusted my care to this person. The moral of my story is to check, verify, and recheck again. Ask for recommendations from people you trust and by all means verify that treatments being performed and prescribed medications to you from any doctor are documented in your medical records because trying to get a provider to own up to what they did not document can take months, during which time you do not have the information to take to another doctor for treatment. Be extremely cautious and watchful of your medical records. If something is missing or incorrect, it could be the difference between life and death, yours.

I went here for years. When the dispensary opened I noticed they were focusing on making cash . As…read moretime went on Dr Sam's was there less and less and I was often misdiagnosed migrated and generally misled by the NPs, Dr Sama eventually agreed to be my primary care and that I could ask for him as 8 often felt stigmatized or afraid and would be told that others had been wrong or find it later that taking a certain supplement for a deficiency I was misled to believe I had was won't because I ended up with high levels of iron. I read offered B12 shots when I know I always had enough b as it read in the high yet acceptable area. When I had Coco's and was given the antivirals which relief in a rebound I was given apcr test and told I never had Coco's because I had no antibodies which Dr Sam's said was not a correct diagnosis and was clearly an aisle and judgement of my character. This Dr has no control over his practices and is only available on office two days a week in different locations that are difficult to get to during crisis. Being lied to our doubted and denied treatment for Coco's when my aging father had it as well. I needed help many times I got documentation of my long COVID yet couldn't get documentation from my therapist with Dr Sam's knew of my mental health issues. Much of the time I took medicine I was provided just out of desperation in a couple situations they were ones I realized could Jill me with the meds I was on. Recently I was overdosed on a much stronger need in the same class. When I looked up the dosage or was clear that this was a very dangerous mistake no MD should make especially knowing of been out of my other meds which is never had issues with and that I was reluctant as if felt that the drug he was giving me was a pretty high dose. I trusted him and then was not myself for days and believe I have been having committed mood swings and side effects. The Dr waited days to tell his NP he was playing telephone with to go to the er because he said he's set me up with my old meds and have me a three day supply while he knew I was already having a housing and mental health crisis which he did nothing but as insult to injury. After prescribing drugs that affect me adversely and increase the despair and goldenness I went to him to. I told him if all the issues and bad referrals he and other providers that didn't work out had given me I even had one every me as a patient then start to insist o hasn't sent in paperwork and make up that I was on two meds or was like drug seeking because my MD kept giving me a med that want helping at all. This business is not practicing ethical treatment they need to be reported and maybe of I can keep it together I will. He has caused pharmacies and other prescriptions to look at my prescriptions and decide on drug seeking probably because it's never constant and I have been allowed actual treatment or the benefit of a doubt. The surgeon general's here needs to fix things. The lack of defect cars is timing my life. And my shirt to help my father or deal with his symptomatic outbreaks because mine are just wise than ever.
