No Victory, hot garbage. Saturday night pre 9pm and the bar is completely out of all of their holiday cocktails listed on the menu? What is that? How do you advertise holiday cocktails and then tell the table you ran out of everything. Also the server came to our table to take order, drop off order, then never came back. And the bar was half empty but they couldn't be bothered to come out from behind the bar. Some servers expect to be paid for doing absolutely nothing. I went here for the first time for a private event and had a thoroughly enjoyable time! It is VERY decorated for Christmas and people should definitely visit around the holidays! The holiday-themed drinks were very reasonably priced and good, the flatbread pizza was far yummier than I expected it to be, and the sliders were good sized and tasted really good too! Food and drinks were a definite win. All the staff I interacted with were super friendly and efficient, and our table was regularly cleared despite the bar being jampacked for the event. Another dive favorite. Doc's Victory Pub for the win, kind of. It's pretty good though. Has lots of fun entertainment. There's usually some good specials. Came in last time and we sat at the bar. It was a busy weekend but it wasn't incredibly busy here. There was some musician playing a keyboard. He was okay but not many people were paying attention. We got some beer and food. I had an Alter Center Line Golden Ale. It's $5.50 a pint. This is a nice craft beer, and they have a few more from local places. It has mostly typical dive bar food. We got the Tortilla Chips And Salsa. It's $5 for a good amount. The salsa is pretty chunky and has a kick. Food options also include meaty and greasy items. Italian beef is popular. I'm really starting to hate going out to BARS in Elmhurst. Yes BARS because the modern day yuppie Elmhurst parent brings 25 of their kids everywhere we go up and down spring road and York rd. Wtf?! I don't want to be surrounded by 25 kids on a Sunday afternoon watching sports with screaming children in the bar everywhere! These kids are so damn loud and interfering with the restroom stalls - playing games instead of using the bathroom. So frustrating that these BARS alllow all these kids!!!! The bartender , Sarah was fed up with them as well as it was obvious. She was too busy making non stop kiddie cocktails instead of checking on her adult tables on the patio. By the time beer got to us it was flat and no head on the pours. Finally game inside and couldn't get service at the bar either because of these parents needing items for their kids. Seriously put an age limit here or we aren't coming back. This is why I stopped going into bottle theory also. read more

Granted its St. Paddy's day, waited more than 5 minutes for a server after waving our arms like lunatics. Order 2 corned beefs w/ Guinness. He requires a credit card, we want to pay cash and hand him some bills. He comes back returning the cash saying we have to order at the bar now. There is one bartender doing nothing but punching keys on the register with 10 people waving their arms for service. 3 guys in Staff shirts waking back and forth seemingly doing nothing. After 5 minutes of this and seeing it will be a long time (10th in line), we pack up and leave. A friend of mine had a joke he would say all the time- They ought to fire the guy who hired you! No management on a busy night of the year. Went to another Irish bar, busy, and got instant service. read more

Visited for dinner. The Italian beef was tasty and the fish (fish and chips) was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, pretty good for frozen. Menu is limited, was hoping for more Irish fare...basically bar quality food. Beer selection is good. Service was solid. This place was great when I first turned 21... now I go and it reminds me of how glad I am not to be 21 anymore. I like places that serve you drinks in bar-ware... not disposable frat cups. The ratio of people is like so: 80% 21 and under with fakes and 20% parents of York high school students looking for their youth... specifically "dolled up/washed up" mothers praying to God that one of their kids friends refers to them as a milf. And terrible drinks BTW... could be the plastic frat cups they came in though. If you think Popov brand vodka is top shelf, you'll prob love it here. read more

I've come to realize that I love BLT's. I suppose it's because the "B" is for "Bacon" and bacon is ... well ... awesome! To quote Jim Gaffigan, "Bacon's the best, even the frying of bacon sounds like applause. (sizzling sounds) YEAAAA BACON!!!!" Well they have a really great BLT sandwich at Doc Ryan's. And, if that was the only thing to rate them on, they'd get 5 stars. I also had the chili which looked great, but ended up a little too soupy and bland. I asked for some jalapenos, which they were happy to provide, and that improved it, but not to the point that I'd order it again. It's a solid bar, but needs some major improvements. To me, chairs without backs are just not comfortable. The tables, walls, bathroom, etc. need to be refinished / remodeled. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. So excited Doc's is back in Elmhurst. Popped in a couple of Saturdays ago to watch some college football with my husband and we had a great time. Despite our server pulling double duty as the bartender she did an excellent job and kept up with our table. We split the chips and onion dip and each had one of the $1 cheeseburgers. The food was really good and I am so excited to see Doc's offering a full menu! Plus you cannot beat the deals they have going on not just on Saturdays but throughout the week. The new decor from the new renovation really makes a huge difference but is not so upscale that the bar is no longer welcoming. Also, like other reviewers mention, can't beat the redone bathrooms! read more

I love what they did with this place. Completely cleaned it up but kept some of the old charm, like the original bar and back bar. There are more than enough TV's for the games without being overwhelming also. The food was very good. Fish and chips were great, and one of the best $2 cheese burgers(their Saturday special) I've ever had. We sat at the bar, so service was what you would expect. Very nice people who seem to really know what they are doing. There has been a recent epidemic of bars that have opened in Elmhurst with terrible, terrible service and bad food. I won't name names. So it's refreshing to see that they treated one of my favorite bars in Elmhurst the right way! We'll be back, and you all should try it too. read more

Great local bar. I always enjoy the tacos. Very tasty. The young lady behind the bar is very cool. I believe her name is Sam. She makes great drinks. Every time I go there she's always taking care of me. I haven't been there when they have live music but i hear they have good people there when it happens. Trashy, trashy, trashy! Under-21 college kids pretending they are in their 20s, and over-30 married people also pretending they are in their 20s. The whole place stinks like Red Bull and the ladies room is by far the grossest in Elmhurst. The must keep the temperature in there under 50 to keep bacteria from growing. The last couple times I was there with my boyfriend, the female bartender would only make eye contact with him and completely ignored me. I had to ask him to order my drinks since she apparently only serves males. Weird. read more

Waitresses are more interested in socializing with friends than waiting on their tables. Food sucks. We'd go and have some drinks, and watch the Bulls Playoff games back in the day, then drink with "Mrs Doc Ryan". not sure if the owner is around anymore....but she never believed i would drive from Chicago to Elmhurst to go to her bar! so i'd have to whip out my ID....then she would buy me a beer! we'd have a good burger......and waffle fries.....then go to the back of the bar for darts and Golden Tee Golf! I was drawn into the bar with promises of $2 cheeseburgers on Saturday, but to my dismay the special ended at 4pm. I shall return for this beautiful burger special in the near future. The ambiance of the bar is pretty low-key, casual for an Elmhurst establishment. The beers are reasonably priced, and their specials are good enough to entice a bloke off the pavement and onto a bar stool. There are a few safe foods that I order my first time checking a restaurant out, and in the instance I went with the reuben. I feel like you have to try to muck that up, luckily this place has a damn fine reuben sandwich - a little on the Elmhurst price end - with fries, which were also pretty solid. Bartender was attentive, and the bar back very observant and on top of his game. Sat and talked with a local for 45 minutes while taking in a Cubs game from my peripherals. Great 1st impression from the owner on down. A hard working hustling staff was the theme throughout our visit. Pretty solid bar food, great value, and just a good time. A little ambiance of class but a hint of dive bar and friendliness abound. Patrons were buddying up so there wasn't a "marking your territory" aura bars like this tend to get caught up in. I LOVE this place. The old Doc's was a great Irish tavern. Doc's Victory Pub is the same cozy place but with a brand new skin. The nasty, ugly bathrooms are gone but the beautiful, antique wooden bar remains the centerpiece. I love how the beer taps are placed lower on the inside of the bar so you can see past them to the bar behind. The food is an upscaled version of bar food. I just love the Reuben Egg Rolls. And who can ever say no to Jalapeno Poppers! My husband loves a good burger and the ones served at Doc's don't disappoint. The service is excellent. New owners really did a great job on this bar. It just reopened Doc's and they did it right. Already has that "cheers" feel as people stop by after work. The staff is on point, the selection is extensive and the place is really cool and really clean. Saturday had the burger deal with family and it was great. Now that I've been out of college for quite some time, it serves as the meeting place for us Elmhurstian-Alums. Just a sap bar on a busy street of Elmhurst. Nothing special about it as it is connected to several other stores and businses on Spring Road. near the praire path. Elmhurst college students go because it is not really far from campus and mainly young folks feel need to drink. Doc Ryans in forest park is alot better and bigger than this place, but I guess Elmhurst students prefer this place.This is a pretty cool looking bar though. read more

I highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to enjoy their life and have a good time. If you're looking for a quite glass of wine docs probably isn't the place. It is what it is, its a neighbor bar, in elmhurst IL. The staff is friendly and they remember you. It's a nice place to catch a Hawks game. Some people are complaining about under aged kids there, I have not noticed things like this. You do occasionally get some younger looking kids in there, they almost never cause a problem. My only complaint would be to have a larger beer selection. read more
