I will preface this review by saying the only downside is the location which is an unassuming, rather depressing strip mall. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! I came here because I've heard they got pretty decent tavern style pizza. The parking lot is huge. I wished they had more lighting here, especially at night. The service could be improved a bit. When we walked in, there was nobody to greet us within the first couple mins. After we got seated it was fine. They have pinball machines that you can play. I believe they're $1. They also have a room for parties and poker night. We ordered the hipsters vs lumberjacks beer, huckleberry wheat beer, a dozen chicken wings with sweet heat bbq, holy grail pizza. This would be a perfect 5 out of 5, however improve the service when customers walk in. 4.5 out of 5. -hipsters vs lumberjacks 5 - easy drinking red ale with vanilla. It's smooth and light. -huckleberry wheat 5 - this is an easy beer to sip during the summer. You can taste the berries but it's not overpowering. Mildly sweet beer. -chicken wings 5 - the chicken wings has flavor even without the bbq sauce. They are nicely grilled then lightly fried. The meat is very tender and juicy. -holy grail pizza 5 - the crust is cracker thin and crispy when it's hot. The pizza has a lot of flavor. You get some mild heat from the jalapeños and hot honey. Really cool vibe here! Unsuspecting in the back of a strip mall parking lot but once you're inside you're transported to a modern brewery complete with a barrel room! Definitely recommend the pizza here. It's super thin and it's the kind of pizza you just want to keep shoveling down while you drink a beer. They have several shareable apps like a giant pretzel- YUM! And a few handheld sandwiches as well. Every beer I tasted I liked! They have a good selection and the server we had helped us narrow down options for our flight based on our usual preferences. We were here and they were playing what sounded like harder core Nickelback and talking about being dead. Very high volume. Please God no. No no no. Just landed in Chicago, and was recommended to come here for a nice drink and some pizza. I have to say that this place did not disappoint in anyway. They have a wonderful array of beers, excellent food (pizza was really good), and even pinball machines for gaming. It's a really mellow spot, where you can tell families bring their kids to hang out and just talk, watch a game, or play games with their kids. Service was wonderful! We had dinner here on a Monday night and discovered: 1) Their food (pizza) is really good! 2) their beer selection (their stuff and others) is solid and tasty! 3) they have trivia on Monday nights (the first Monday of each month is a theme) While ordering and munching we chatted with the owner/manager? on and off. He's a super friendly guy and was very flexible with a lot of things we were asking about (regarding groups and future visits, etc). He even wen't above and beyond to make the kids feel welcome and special. We simply had beens and pizza and loved both! We had a great brewpub visit here for our 'ol (ex-work) catchup group of 3.  They have a chill and laid back atmosphere here in their big and spacious strip mall location.  The best aspects are their very extensive and diverse beer list, high quality and delicious beers, and a beer list that is heavy on pale ales, IPA's, and NEIPA's which are all amongst my favorites.  They also have flights for $10 which consist of four 5 oz pours and that is always a great way to sample a variety of beers.  The thin pizza here is also very good! Max was our very capable and knowledgeable server. We each had a couple of 14 oz draft servings as well as a flight.  We also shared two delicious 14" pizzas, one a sausage and mushrooms, and the other a sausage and black olives, and each costing $21.  They also offer some sandwiches and shareable appetizer items.   For my beers, I personally had: - 16 oz Cozmo APA, 5.0% ABV, $5 and an everyday special - 14 oz Bernie Nitro Milk Stout, 5.0% ABV, $7 Also a $10 flight consisting of 5 oz servings of: - Hop Prism Blue IPA, 7.3% ABV - Gummypalooza NEIPA, 6.7% ABV - Gummylicious Hazy IPA, 6.0% ABV - Bernie Milk Stout, 5.0% ABV I enjoyed every one of my beers.  I don't even know if I had a favorite, but I really enjoyed the Cozmo APA probably only because it was the first to hit my lips!  My colleagues had a similar quantity but mixed in several other delectable choices into their flights like their Frothie lager, Fortunate Day IPA, Step Brewers IPA, Oligo Warrier amber ale, Pickle Someone Your Own Size sour, Zing Peach Tea, Fuzzy Smack sour, and Bruski lager.  Needless to say, there are a lot of delectable beer choices and plenty good variety here! It was a relatively quiet evening and it was a Tuesday which is their slowest night of the week. That actually made it better for us and we had a nice leisurely catchup and noise level was not a factor.  Our winning and promising Cubs were also on a couple of their TV's, as were the White Sox.  Their space is quite large and one end has a wall lined up with pinball machines, and their brewing equipment is displayed at the other end.  In the middle is their bar should you want to enjoy that setting, and interspersed everywhere else are tables and high tops.  Overall, a most excellent brewpub and highly recommended if you like quality and delicious beers as well as some quite decent pizza. read more

Our party of four visited Noon Whistle Brewing in Lombard for the first time on a dreary rainy Saturday. I've enjoyed cans of their Fuzzy Smack Peach in the past, so I had high hopes on this day. While we did not come for the pinball, we did come out specifically to try out the Barbie Malort. Yes this (presumably) limited time offering is a shot of Malort infused with pink guava and edible glitter. It's bizarre and unique and worth a try. Plenty of beer choices to check out, so my love and I went for a flight including choices like the fruity Crafting for Cancer along with a Mexican Style Lager. There is a water dispenser to keep you hydrated. Stopped in after an afternoon walking around the arboretum and we were thirsty and tired! This place is spacious inside with plenty of table and bar seating. Husband and I each had flights in order to try as many beers as possible, as well as a delicious turkey club with tater tots. This happened and Thursday and has bugged me since. I usually don't like to jump to conclusions but my mind can't help it with this instance.My fiancé and I went to an event at the Naperville location and it was fun, but we wanted to try the food at the one near us when we had a chance Thursday our plans got changed and we had a free night and decided to give it a try. My fiance and I came in about 7:30 ish. the place looked decently busy, and everyone had food and looked happy. the sign up front said seat yourself and the waiter will come to you. We took a seat and I took notice of the row of pinball machines against the wall and how cool they looked all lit up and thought it was a shame that I didn't bring any quarters.. they had these cool pizza stands at the table and I was like excited to try the pizza. The waitress drop something off at another table and came up to us and said we're having power issues and won't be able to stay. The way it was said felt very much like denying service for a different issue. Now she may have just misspoke and the ordering system was down (because the power was very much on) and her lack of any service industry pleasantries may have been because of the stress of that situation , but her tone felt very different again like we were being treated differently (felt like since we were a same sex couple she didn't want to serve). Went to the car feeling perplexed and frankly insulted. Watchef a straight couple go right in and didn't see them leave right away and then really felt targeted. could have been just a bad night for the server and I admit that, but frankly it felt like more than that, and not a feeling I am used to having in lombard. Lombard's finest. Having tried a variety of Noon Whistle beers at various bars across Chicagoland, I didn't realize it was so close by! Dropped by to pick up some tall boys I had never seen or heard of before and they did not disappoint! I used their online site to order ahead, and promptly drove to pick up. The space it self was much larger than I had expected and would be great to meet up with larger groups. This location does serve food and also spotted a number of pinball machines. Another location of a popular hangout and brewery. In the back of a shopping center off Roosevelt Road are a few stores. Noon Whistle is a happening place in Lombard and can get rugged at times. Lots of seating and plenty of room for activities. They have pages of drafts and have a few snacks like pretzels. Came by with the girl because we had been to the other location and heard this one was actually better. It was kind of hard to find this one as well because it's way back from the road. The taproom is very spacious and can fit lots of people for fun activities such as trivia. On this day it was kind of chattery but quiet. There were a few regulars at the bar and they were talking about crap and sports. Gummy Vortex was the first of the beers. It's $7 a pint. This in an IPA imperial so a pretty hoppy one but not too much though. It's a New England IPA. This is made with Citra and Simcoe. Baked Pretzels is what we ate. These are $8 and come with a choice of cheese or Gummy Maple Sauce. Finding this the first time can be hard because it's hard to see where it is in the shopping center. They added a 2.75% charge when I used a credit card to pay for my festbier. But I actually saved a pile of money since I was going to come back for a pizza and a couple of beers, and again for the Oaxaca nachos - even though they don't include refried beans - and a couple of beers, but now I will do neither because of this money-grubbing charge. Came here for some drinks before dinner. They have a decent parking lot that fits many cars. If you like to enjoy the summer weather outside, they have a huge tent right in front to sit in. Inside has a few games along the right side where kids can play pinball games. That waitresses and waiters were all very friendly. My friends and I all got beer flights. Surprisingly, they have quite a selection of beers and sours. I got the Jam Stand Apricot and Pineapple, Smack That!, Swanky Smack, and Fuzzy Smack. I guess I seem to like all the smacks. They also had a Banana slushy that is similar to the Fuzzy Smack but in slushy form. All were good picks. If you are not a beer drinker, I would recommend these choices. We came for a market , beer and lunch ! The hostess was so rude and no clue about a wait and said she would just come find me when a table is available. After 35 mins we sat down and ordered a beer, water and lunch . After 45 minutes no lunch - had to ask for a refill and basically just got told the kitchen is behind at this point . We gladly paid and left we felt like this location really can not handle a market and or weekend crowds. Do not say yes to hosting an event you cannot accommodate. We picked easy things on the menu and left empty handed and super disappointed. Awful service but good beer ! Taking it to go was not even a good idea the line was awful I saw so many unhappy customers . Do better guys you deserve our business! We've always gone here during the day when it's order on your own but we tried out dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy and different ordering as they have waiters come around to order food and drinks instead of going up to the bar or window as we've done in the past during the daytime.
