Ive walked for some well known designers, even walked in a fashion show in Paris. Recently, I was selected to star in a music video with a lead role, that was debut on TVOne, and pushed globally hours later. I also started taking acting classes on my own with a well known actor as my coach, and at the Alliance Theater. With all that said, I knew and was confident I had more than just potential. I wanted representation. Just like a previous reviewer said, the "audition" seemed legit at first... We were told to work the runway, then memorize a few commercial lines so that they can video tape us, then an interview about our goals, etc. Now that I think about it, I dont even think that camera was on. They said they will put you in 1 of 3 categories and schedule a phone appointment to let u know what you fall under... A is someone u would sign rightway, B is someone who has potential, and C is someone they wouldn't sign. I had my portfolio of 10 professional pics I showed them. Debbi complimented me on my attitude, the fact I was able to memorize my lines, that I had the look, and that they had so many clients looking for commercial /lifestyle models and I would fit right in. Debbi took 2 pics from my portfolio to "show the execs at the next meeting" to make their final decision. She requested I send my resume to her once I got home to Atlanta (I had left my resume prior to the audition). That said, I left the audition pretty confident and excited... I assumed I would belong in the A, or B group. I emailed them my resume, and thanked Debbi for the interview. Then I decided to read over their material. I didnt want to read their material that Debbi gave me prior to knowing if I got in or not purposely... I was THAT ANXIOUS.. Lol. But I decided to do so finally after submitting my resume. My biggest fear just like another reviewer said... They had all these classes they wanted you to pay for upfront with installment plans. Debbi emailed me back and said they reviewed my video clips, pics, resume etc and wanted me to sign (I fell in the "A" group and that she wanted to schedule a time to get my credit card info over the phone to proceed to the next step). WAIT A MINUTE! If I fall under the "A" group, why am I paying for all these classes upfront? And where is this supposed contract? Never mentioned if it was exclusive or not. I googled reputable agencies, things not to fall for, ex and learned no reputable agency should ever ask for money to be signed. Clients hire the agency for models, and the agency gets a booking cut. Bottom line, I partially fault myself for not researching them in depth before hand prior to the trip. I will keep their emails as proof to warn other models to avoid them like the plague. They better not take my pics to pass them as their own!

As for the error, in the taxes, I have provided screenshots of emails between myself and Mary. Moral of the story do not use these CPAs, as proof by Todd's lying below and unwillingness to make things right when customers have been wronged. I used Culpepper for three years and will not be returning. The first year was excellent, but my experience declined sharply after that. In the second year, communication with Mary became difficult, she was hard to reach and frequently offered excuses for delays. Our taxes are somewhat complex, and I expect extensions, which was the case for both 2023 and 2024. In 2023, despite poor communication, we finalized our taxes shortly after the deadline, so I let it go. 2024, however, was unacceptable. Mary prepared both our business and personal taxes. While working on our personal return, almost a month later, she discovered an error in the business return and attempted to blame me, claiming I hadn't communicated a change. That change was clearly included in the information sheet we provide every year. She eventually corrected the mistake at no charge, but only after deflecting responsibility. Meanwhile, weeks went by between responses, filled with the same excuses as the prior year. She didn't file our taxes until July, over three months past the deadline. I paid the bill but raised no further complaint at the time. Later, my husband called to give them an opportunity to make things right after they charged us an exorbitant fee for both returns, plus penalties from the late filing. Instead of addressing our concerns, they refused to let us speak with anyone other than Mary. She repeatedly placed blame on me and insisted she had done her due diligence, despite the fact that I had documented the gaps in communication with a clear timeline. Nothing was resolved. Because of this, I will no longer use Culpepper and strongly caution others against doing so.

I called in…read morea state of panic knowing that we would not get our taxes done by April 15 (we moved from out of state and it was a complicated return). We had our appointment at the end of April and our return was not complete until early June. I found an error that reduced our tax liability by $7,000. I was told that we would be getting a letter from the IRS regarding the late filing and that I should send that to the CPA and she would request an abatement of the penalty since we had never filed or paid late before. I assumed that was part of the process that we had paid for, but then I got an additional bill for almost $200. If I had known that there would be an extra charge, I would've just called the IRS myself.
