They were kind & thorough at explaining what they were looking for & what could be done , what to expect if nothing was done & what were the common causes. My dog had to have her inner ACL removed & a torn ligament repaired. My dog was made comfortable as was I. Everyone there is exceptional. Very personable Dr.s. We appreciate their whole animal approach, they look at the pet in its entirety not just the current issue. In addition, Dr. Valenta makes follow up phone calls to check on your pet, reminder cards are sent for routine vaccination and exams. The photo shows a cut pad on our dog, Dr Valenta assessed and gave antibiotics but refrained from stitches. He was correct, the wound healed in snout 10 days.

I was convinced that our dog Minnie would never be trained and I'd lose my mind with two kids under…read moretwo (one being 7 weeks old). But I was in complete shock when we brought her home and she seemed like a brand new dog. Linda trained Minnie with such compassion and love which was important for a dog that had been neglect and abused. Minnie now comes when she's told, no longer barks at people walking by or walking up and doesn't jump on guests when they arrive. Melinda did a great job explaining how to utilize the E collar in order for Minnie to continue her good behaviors. Linda also sent us updates and videos throughout Minnies time there, which reassured that Minnie didn't think we abandoned her. We liked them so much and we're so impressed that we plan to make the hour track up there to send minnie to doggy daycare a few times a week and will absolutely be using them for kenneling in the future. We are forever grateful for Linda and Sean and the work they did with Minnie. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anybody that needs their pup trained and they don't have the time to do it themselves.

Once there, they receive lots of TLC, eat premium pet food, and are socialized. Their application process is stringent; it's not like the rescues you see at Pet Smart. But the dogs are all beautiful and if you qualify you will have a wonderful pet. Highly recommended if you are a devotee of this breed and you believe in rescue.

After filling out a 6 page application for safe haven (which was unnecessarily detailed), Margaret encouraged us to get two dogs instead of one, which we denied since my blind mother would stay home with the dog all day (as she had done with our previous dog). Margaret then rudely told us she did not approve of us having one dog and inquired about sleeping arrangements. We told her that our last dog slept in bed with one of the family members each night because of his special needs, but were looking to have this dog sleep in its own room (which the dog would literally have his own small room in our house as our last dog did). She sent a very harsh email detailing how we were "cruel" and then refused to adopt a dog to us. I believe this woman's control issues is at the cost of her dogs' happiness and well-being. This is a rescue mission for dogs, yet the woman won't allow her dogs to be rescued. We were honest on the application and in emails, and we would have made a wonderful family for one of the dogs; however, Margaret deterred that. It's very sad and extremely unprofessional, in my opinion.
