Today was my 2nd time at Dodingtown Market & Deli. I wish I would have taken a pic of my sandwich from the 1st time the George Foreman with the homemade tortilla chips, and homemade pickles. That sandwich is what made me want to go back. Today I brought my husband in based on pics of their pizza from reviews on Facebook. We ordered a large Hot Oil Pie, and Garlic Knots to eat there. Then a large cheese pizza to take home. In addition I had an iced carmel salted latte one there ,and it was so good I took one to go. On top of it the family that owns Dodingtown were just as friendly and welcoming as the first time I came into their business. Now lets start with the iced salted carmel latte so creamy, and refreshing but not too sweet. The garlic knots have sliced pieces of garlic, nice plump dough, and the sauce was to me perfect! The hot oil pie if you like HOT this is your pizza. The peppers used on this pizza are green chill peppers, and red italian long peppers. These peppers together bring the heat. The crust is thin and crispy, and the sauce is a delightful homemade sauce. You can tell their pizza is made with the best ingredients. We found this hidden gem while meeting a seller from Facebook Marketplace here so we decided to have breakfast while we were there. From the moment we walked in, they were so welcoming. We were greeted with smiles, great conversation and a lovely ambiance with purple flowers leading us to the coffee bar. Our breakfast arrived and both my husband and I were blown away with the quality of the food we received. Everything was out of this world and cooked to perfection. I said it was the best bacon I had ever had and my husband said the same about the sausage. My coffee was awesome too. We enjoyed our conversations and learning about the family and their other restaurant too. Even though this is almost 35 minutes from where we live, we will be back. What a great experience. Hands down the best sandwiches around. All the staff there treat you like you are apart of the family and that makes the experience of going here even better! It is a treat to go get my bacon egg and cheese here and a pleasure to walk in and be greeted by the staff working. (Shoutout to Ian and Miss G and Puja!!!) Tried Dodgingtown tonight for our Friday night takeout. We were all impressed! Husband had mentioned this place before and he recently got a Reese's PB cheesecake there that was baked fresh and AMAZING. So why not give a local business a try for dinner? Glad we did :) The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was delicious- quite large and great homemade cheese sauce, tender steak, peppers, onions, and mushrooms.... Oh my! Kids loved their chicken tenders, cheeseburger and raved about their seasoned crispy fries and Tater tots. Our son said it was in his top 5 greatest takeout burgers! French dip was great and au jus made it all melt in your mouth. Happy we have another option for takeout and excited to try more on their menu. We had an amazing lunch today at the Dodgingtown Market. I had a steak sandwich with fries - the bun was buttered and toasted, fries were exceptionally well-seasoned and crisp and the steak was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Santa Fe wrap - chicken and avocado with an amazing chipotle aioli - which was a generous portion big enough for 2 meals. I went to the revamped Dodgingtown Market and must say I was very impressed. The decor is very attractive, it was nice and clean, but it still had a terrific "local" feel. Even more important was the food and service. I ordered a turkey wrap with some fixings and it was absolutely delicious. It came with a side of crispy tortilla chips and crazy-good pickles. I have lived in the Newtown area for over 27 years on the other side of town from the Dodgingtown Market & Deli but had never visited before. My wife suggested we stop in for Sunday breakfast and I was very pleasantly surprised by how great a business this is. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They clearly take great pride in their work and the business. The Deli was very clean and bright and there is a nice area to eat your meal if you are so inclined. The food was really excellent. I had a maple sausage sandwich with egg, hash brown, and siracha sauce on a fresh roll (the Game Changer). My wife had a bacon and egg sandwich. We ate there and the food arrived hot and was very tasty. The prices were reasonable as well. I have traveled and eaten all over the country and world and some great food is available right here in Dodgingtown. I usually reserve my reviews for exceptional places like this. Dodgingtown Deli and Market used to be one of my go-to places to stop and get a sandwich. Stopped by today and found out that there is a new owner. While the place is now a lot cleaner and brighter, the prices are outrageous. I paid $10.95 for a simple chicken cutlet sandwich on a roll...and the chicken cutlet was so over-cooked that it was burnt on the outside and like shoe leather on the inside... Not a great first impression. One and done; no plans to return. In the future, I will drive over to Bethel and go to "For Pete's Sake" or "Rocco's" instead! read more

Love this place! The new owners did such a good job implementing new trendy items while maintaining deli staples. Staff was so so kind. I actually came across this deli bc my car ran out of gas and the owner saw me walking a gas can to my car and offered to drive me to it. She said our community looks out for each other, I couldn't have been more grateful. Once my car was running again I stopped over for a sandwich and a drink which were great. I had heard the food was good but I can't say because they have terrible customer service. I'll never go back. I waited 20 min for chicken salad on a roll. And they was no one in there, they were too busy with phoned in orders to take what could have been 30 seconds to make my sandwich. I went to another place and got my sandwich in one minute. This place is worth stopping. It didn't look like much from the road but once inside there's a fresh, quick and clean vibe. Relatively spacious dining area with about 7 or so tables. Very tasty specials and helpful staff. Extensive menu with specialty sandwiches and other really great surprises with a mini-mart vibe in one ai. Specials ranged from about $8-16 dollars but very fair portions and quality ingredients. The salad/sandwich special was totally worth the extra money in my opinion. This business seemed in touch with the local community events as well so it seemed worth supporting. read more

This is our favorite take out spot. Everything is made from scratch with quality ingredients and fresh to order. The Mac and cheese is out of this world. The chicken cutlets are crispy and seasoned perfectly. The desserts are made in house as well and I absolute love the chocolate/peanut butter mousse parfait. The kids rave about the chicken tenders and their fries -which are always crispy and perfectly seasoned. They offer daily specials including a soup of the day. And of course they have all of the usual breakfast and deli sandwiches. They have nitro cold brew coffee and a kambucha bar. The convenience store attached has all of the necessities and a nice selection of high end specialty foods. Do yourself a favor and try Dodgingtown Market if you haven't already. The food speaks for itself but it's also worth noting it's family owned and operated. G the manager is incredibly friendly and accommodating. worse "philly cheesesteak" i have ever tried, i wouldn't say eaten, b/c most of it went to the trash. first off the "steak" was a frozen slab of meat. It was broken up into these flavorless and tough pieces. the onions were stone cold and overall just gross. A few years ago I was training for a marathon and the market was a 12 mile mark it was hotter out than I thought and I needed water. I went into the market and asked if I could have a water and that I would be back to pay for it. The young girl at the register said yes and I drank that water with much gusto. I returned the next day to pay for my water and the owner told me she thought the girl should be let go for giving me the water. I was appalled at the reaction of the owner and never returned to the store. The owner should have praised her for being a good person and helping someone in need. read more
