There are baked pre-packaged goods (cookies, biscotti, crumb cake, poppy seed bread slices). The only loaf bread I saw was pre-packaged Challah. There is also a section of packages take away soups and meal items , as well as some hummus and dips. All is priced on the higher end. Purchased a blueberry pie. It looked good, but it was SO disappointing!! The blueberries were so thoroughly drenched in sugary syrup that they had no flavor other than being sickly sweet. The crumble and crust were also overly sweet and did not taste fresh. Worst. Pie. Ever. read more

I've been here over 20 times for the make your own chopped salad. Being a total salad girl... and being from LA I love a GOOD salad. Well, Garelick and Hebers is the place to come if you're in this area. The make your own chop salad is worth the visit. It's my fav! The to go food is also super fabulous too! Unfriendly counter staff. Went in today and got quesadillas and burgers. I ordered cheese and got chicken ; was charged for cheese so obviously y'all are going to lose profit this way. Chicken quesadillas obviously would have been more expensive. When I greeted the counter staff she couldn't be bothered to say hello back ; and then proceeded to walk to the bathroom area talking about bacteria. So appetizing. What a shame as I've been a customer since I was in elementary school. Cashier was very friendly and he was the only highlight of shopping here. I will never be back here as it gave me the ick talking about bacteria and getting the wrong order as I don't have time to drive back if I were a vegan or vegetarian. I'm sure the owner would dispute this as the review before mine stated mold on the pizza which I'd highly believe (allegedly) after my experience today. Never returning. Save yourself and don't eat here. Very trendy spot with prices to match. Deli staff lacked basic food preparation skills, never mind knowledge of the menu. Ask for a menu item, and you'll be met with 20 questions on what should be in it and how it should be prepared. Place was pretty empty but food took forever. One sandwich was almost serviced on moldy bread! Chicken cutlet sandwich was served cold, avocado toast came as a sandwich which fell apart, oh and don't expect your food to be salted or peppered - you have to ask for salt and pepper packets safely stored behind the register. I just catered a luncheon with sandwiches and salads from Garelick. Their catering department is extremely professional, responsive and helpful. The food is always presented beautifully--there's no question that you are using a top caterer when entertaining. And best of all I have never seen guests eat so much food at a party! Everyone raved about the flank steak, veggie and hummus and turkey wraps, plus the grilled chicken sandwich. I could live on their corn and cabbage salad. What a disappointment!! I had high hopes for this lunch place this past Sunday afternoon. The exterior looks like a modern barn and the interior is gorgeous, regardless with it being a little overcrowded with offerings. I was excited to sit outside and enjoy a sandwich and the good weather, but little did I know I would have to wait, and wait and wait for a sandwich to be made. We visited on a Sunday and the deli service was quite possible the slowest deli I have ever seen. I would avoid at all costs during lunch during the week. I can't imagine you can order, get your sandwich and eat it in a timely fashion. I was third in line to order. By the time I received my food it was roughly 20 minutes later. In fact, some lady even quipped "you are still waiting?" The wait and the high prices make this place a pass. read more

I went to the Southport Connecticut store today and bought two gourmet pizzas. One was portabella mushroom and spinach and the other was margarita. I paid cash with a fifty dollar bill left and drove back to my daughters house , heated the oven and were about to cook it when my daughter noticed it had mold all over it. I went back to the store right away. The young man who had waited on me was very nice and said he would get the manager. The women who came over was nasty from the moment she spoke to me. She looked at the pizza and said she did not take bac,k food that was bought six days before. I explained,no I had just bought it. I tried to explain I had been there only an hour before, and the boy who waited on me agreed I had just been there. This women continued to argue,rolled her eyes and continued to be extremely nasty. When my husband stated my daughter is there every week as are her friends, the women said she did not care. " I do not care if she shops here" was her response. She was a really miserable person to talk to. I informed her that it is the store's responsibility to check for expired merchandise. She then told me I had to take the return to the garbage outside myself to the dumpster. At this point I laughted. I will NEVER buy anything there again. HORRIBLE person. Starting off with this: everything I ordered here was so fresh and delicious! This trip, I had the ramen, where you're able to pick you're noodle type, broth and toppings as well as some heat (sriracha or chili oil) and for dessert their chocolate mousse parfait. The G&H location in Southport is open .... finally!!! After a couple of years driving by an ugly knarly empty lot, the building is a glorious addition as part of the gateway to Southport. Had a Quiche Lorraine and Chicken Pot Pie for lunch (No silly! Not all for myself, shared with wife!). Generous tasty portions, decent prices as always. Sat outside on their spacious patio to catch some rays, but there's also indoor seating where it is also open and airy. Will have to go through their selection of prepared foods at this new location when too tired (ahem, lazy) to cook. Ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept 20th @ 5 - so it will be officially open! read more

Bagels were moldy (white spots) albeit advertised as fresh. I asked for two cappuccinos but they didn't know how to make one (!). Instead, I was offered to have lattes...but then they only prepared one! Avocado toast was sans pepper and salt and it was randomly prepared, ie avocado, tomato, and feta were thrown on a piece of toast. Overnight oats, although on the menu, was completely missing from the prepared area...Did I mention the long wait, although there were only 2 people in the store at 9am? I love exploring all the choices the Southport location has to offer as they are always coming up with new to try. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Gina and her staff are amazing to work with...we often use their catering services for the Jewish holidays and Thanksgiving and the process for ordering and pick up is very easy. G&H catered both of our daughters' Bat Mitzvahs and the food was absolutely incredible...we received compliments all evening from our guests. I honestly want to love this place but I can't! I went in yesterday for the very first time and I was amazed with all the goodies and food. They looked amazing!!!! I had a spinach and potato soup, which was soooo good!!! But, that was it! I ordered from the noodle bar and the noodles was not tasty at all! I came home looking forward to eating the noodles and it was over cooked and bland! :( I went in today because I was upset I didn't purchase any of the amazing looking deserts. I decided to just purchase some of the delicious looking pretzels and cookies. I purchased over $30 worth of sweets. Unfortunately, the pretzels were stale! The cookie had no flavor!! I don't think I can give this place another chance. In the last two days, I spent over $50 and was not satisfied either day.
