On their website it states: "Pre-registration and payment is required to reserve a spot at orientation. Orientation is without your dog and does not count as one of your training weeks." So my partner and I signed up to learn more about their training, while looking at other options to determine what was best for our dog. We went to orientation on April 27th at 7pm where we received a booklet explaining their method and had a chance to ask questions. As our dog's aggressiveness was getting worse, we decided to start implementing some of their exercises in their book. We also agreed to confirm our attendance originally for May 11th and after emailing Canine University that we were struggling, we were moved to the May 4th class and confirmed our attendance. As our dog's behavior was escalating, we decided to contact another trainer that provided in-home service. We then emailed Canine University on May 4th that we would not be attending their classes and requested a partial refund. We received an email that they do not give out refunds and then they tried to convince us to go to the first class and then to private training. The cancellation policy on their website states: "Full refund if you notify us 48 hours prior to class start date. No refunds after the first class." We attended orientation and not a class. We asked where on their website the policy of no refunds after orientation was stated and have not received a response. If this business was confident in their training methods, they would operate differently and not be afraid to give customers refunds when no services have been rendered.

The place looks like an abandoned warehouse, but inside it turned out to be a sweet dog training school. I found this place thanks to Dachary C, who suggested it for agility classes. From the beginning, when I emailed Paul and Gerilyn (the husband and wife duo who own and run the place) through the seven week class, I felt that I 100% got my money's worth. Gerilyn was our instructor, and she managed all the dogs wonderfully. She just knows how to coach you and your dog, and catered her feedback to each dog's needs. (In other words, she made me feel comfortable with my unruly, ridiculous dog, which helped me manage him better and get the most out of class). These guys use operant conditioning(big word for clicker training) and sell tasty treats and foods too. And Gerilyn fielded random questions from dog owners each week, and provides resources for you on anything from training to medical advice, to where we could take our dogs for further expansion on our class. We'll definitely be back for more, since Gerilyn and Canine U totally rock!

Jack Russells are notorious little crazed beasts, with an intense amount of energy. Having PITV as our walker has done wonders for Max. Elizabeth is his walker and is absolutely beyond phenomenal. She cares for Max as well as (or possibly better!) than we do. He's weird around other dogs, but she has worked closely with him and created an environment when he walks with ELEVEN other dogs in his group, without a hitch. Elizabeth sends us amazing pictures of Max every single time she walks him, and is excellent at communicating with us regarding his behavior (good and bad!). Paws in the 'Ville provides an absolute reliable, friendly service. We were brand-new dog owners when we started with them and Seana did everything we needed to assist us and created a huge level of trust. When we needed to switch walkers after one left PITV, Max had some issues transitioning - barking like crazy when a different walker came to get him and refusing to go with them. Seana worked closely with us until she found Elizabeth to work with Max. We felt completely supported throughout. I can honestly say that PITV is absolutely the best bang for the buck. It's beyond worth every penny we spend to know that Max is in extremely capable hands. Great communication, great community, great owner, great walkers. I can't say enough good things about this company.

Luckily I had run into Jason on a previous walk with my two labradors and had secured his info, because finding a dog walker who is truly trustworthy with off-leash woods walks is rare. Both of my dogs get incredible exercise and mental stimulation, and come back happy and tired (which isn't easy for now 3 and 6 year old labs :) He's always on-time, very reliable, professional and my dogs love him! Our cat loves her - Adriane comes by the apartment once a day to feed him, clean his litter and play with him, and always sends us pictures and emails to let us know he's doing okay while we're gone. Adriane's very knowledgeable about animals and has had great recommendations for any pet issues we've experienced (hair balls, wolfing down food, etc) and it's clear that she loves animals very much. Working with Adriane has been very easy - we communicate over email, she's happy to come by the apartment to pick up/drop off our keys before/after our trips, and has been available every time we've needed a cat sitter. Her daily rate is very reasonable as well! We're moving out of Cambridge in a few weeks and one of the things we'll miss the most is having Adriane to take care of our cat.
