The dog in yelp user "Sarah C's" picture is the same dog with the same collar in Sarah's bio on the Countryside daycare website. I mean.... Over the weekend I received a bill for $34.00, which I thought was some type of cruel joke. We called and spoke to Darlene, who was kind and apologetic and said the $34 was for his last day of daycare (the day which they not-so-politely told me and my dog to get lost). I have receipts and credit card statements that prove I do not owe them anything and Darlene confirmed we do not owe Countryside any money and did not know why this bill was sent to us. Thank you Darlene for being professional and nice. This one star is for Darlene because she is the only positive aspect about this company. This location does not seem to follow the national guidelines. Doggy day cares should have a minimum of 15 to 1 dog to boarder ratio based on active dogs. Most day cares are 10 to 1. Most Boston Dog locations have a minimum 20 to 1 ratio (possibly larger) which is too high unless all dogs are considered not active! What dog is not active, especially younger dogs? None! After having evaluated the Chelmsford location, I have decided that this location doesn't warrant a good review. The manager of Boston Dog Company at Chelmsford does not seem to really care about the dogs; it's a business, that's all. If you want a caring day care, don't go here.

Zara was a little anxious from the car ride but I know that she will be well cared for by Christine and Kent and get lots of walks & socialization. I was sooo lucky to have found Candace. She literally opens her home to the dogs in her care. Dogs spend their time at her lovely house and are allowed to come in and out throughout the day. There were a few other dogs staying with Candace at the same time as my dog, and these guys were so sweet and playful. (Candace does a wonderful job screening her clients to make sure everyone is safe, happy, and comfortable.) Leaving your dogs in her care is like leaving your dogs with a family member. My dogs instantly trusted her, and so did I. I was able to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my pets. She even sent me photos to help put my mind at ease. Candace is the BEST, and I highly recommend her to all dog owners who do not want to board their loved ones in kennels.

The methods and habits taught by Terry and Mike are invaluable. I was able to break Iris (my dog) of unwanted behaviors quickly (IE being rough with little dogs, console surfing in the car, unwanted chewing, etc) in a matter of weeks. With this training Iris can reallllly be a DOG. I don't mind if we are on walks in the woods and she takes off after a bunny or something, because I know I can recall her and have her sitting at my side within seconds if she strays to far. I can take her to unfenced yards and she will maintain a close proximity to me. She is kind of a dream now. I see other peoples dogs at the dog park, and they can't recall, can't break them of being to rough. The difference is night and day. I cannot recommend this class enough. Anyone who is interested in an obedient and super happy pup should give Canine Magic a shot.

I thought the owner must have the magic touch. I WAS VERY WRONG. On August 20th, I was asked to meet another pet parent. I was in the daycare that early morning, with CJ the owner and a few other dogs including my own. CJ retrieved a drop off mixed breed dog from outside and CJ's attitude and personality completely changed before my eyes. This 70 pound mixed breed, was treated horribly (not going to go into nasty details, as CJ's behavior was totally unacceptable). The dog got yelled at outside, inside and when I confronted CJ, I was told not to get involved by CJ since I didn't see what this dog did the day before. Regardless of what a dog did the day before, the dog has no idea why you are treating him so poorly, the following day. CJ told the dog to sit, in a screaming manner. He then left the room. The dog got up and CJ took a mop and swung it over her head as hard as he could against the wall. The mop didn't touch the dog, it was a scare tactic. CJ was so quick to pick up that mop, you can tell this wasn't his first time using this method of getting a dog to listen to him. I immediately took my 9 month old pup out of that daycare and filed a complaint with Lowell Animal Control and MSPCA. I was told by the investigator, 2 other complaints were filed during an 8 day time frame. If CJ treats a dog so poorly in front of customer, imagine what goes on when the pet parent is not around. Close this place down and take your dogs out of there. Reason for delay in review = I was directed to hold off on posting any review until the investigations were closed.
