I saw Olivia Muenter speak about her new book Little One, and the seating and organization of the whole event was handled flawlessly. I thought it was very kind of the event to offer free tickets in addition to tickets that came with a copy of the book, as I had preordered from another store. I appreciated the consideration, and it made me want to stock up on other books from them. I didn't have any issues with parking at all- I got a spot in the large lot right out front. I was also able to choose from a variety of options for quick dinner stops before my event. All in all, a great addition to North Hills!

Flyleaf also has a number of events every month. I recently attended the Penguin Publisher event. Snacks and drinks were available to those that attended the event and there was a raffle at the end. The event was informative and full of book recs from the Penguin Publisher sales team. Flyleaf is legit! I'll be sure to add this location to one of my favorite bookstores in the Chapel Hill area.

The whole store is devoted to books with a few convenience store items thrown in. The prices are your standard book store prices and they have all the latest releases. They also do have a pretty decent sale selection of bargain books. The titles aren't new releases, but they aren't ancient either, it ends up being a pretty good deal if you find something you like. I always like to browse here when I have extra time before my flight. They also have a display of Papyrus cards which has saved me more than once when I'm on my way to a wedding or for a birthday and I didn't have time to pickup a card before I left. I was overwhelmed with the greeting and helpful information I was given immediately upon entering the store. When I shared that I was considering homeschooling and was hoping to look through curriculum to make decisions based on what was available to me, the store clerk pulled out a few guides as to what subjects are generally covered. She then proceeded to patiently walk me through each section and hand pick options for me to look through based on what I shared with her about my son. Additionally, anything on the new curriculum side of the store that I was interested in, she would make sure they didn't also have a copy of in the consign part of the store. If they did she brought it to me to look through as well as this would save me a considerable amount of money at times! I loved being here so much that I can't wait to go back. For anyone who is newly considering homeschool or I imagine anyone who homeschools at all, this spot is a must visit! They even have a playroom for kids, tons of Usborne books, and lots of used picture books and novels for kids as well. As a former teacher of eight years I cannot more highly recommend. A hidden treasure box!

Tom was really nice when a fellow collector passed he would buy most of their collection, if not all, he didn't just cherry pick the high value collector's books. So Broadfoot has a huge collection of great books under $50, and many under $20. I struggled to post this as it is kind of a secret diamond unknown to individual civil war collectors. Broadfood has been selling Civil War books for longer than many folks reading this review have been alive (including me and I'm in my late 30s)! Broadfoot is a major publisher of Civil War titles and they also sell used Civil War books. This location is their storefront. And oh what a store it is! If you are a military history buff or student of the Civil War this is very literally heaven on earth. The store isn't fancy but it's stocked with thousands of new and used books on the Civil War. The folks running the shop are friendly, welcoming, and exceedingly helpful. I spent 4 hours browsing and still didn't see everything. Prices are so reasonable to almost be absurd. They have books that sell for hundreds of dollars for $5, $10, $20, or $30 each. They also stock many rare highly collectible antiquarian books as well. Though they have a huge selection of used Civil War titles, as a publisher Broadfoot also specializes in publishing large and often rare but critical primary source reference sets like the Official Records of the Rebellion. In their store many of these sets are heavily discounted from what they cost when ordering online or from other bookstores. Even better they have a scratch and dent section too. You can pick up sets most people would only ever see in a major University library for fractions of their street price. If you are a book person and interested in the Civil War this place is a MUST SEE. Just be aware they have very limited hours on Wed and Fri only. In this day of publishers and shops dying left and right and folks moving to eBooks places like Broadfoot are to be celebrated! I can't wait to visit again soon.

If you are in need of a gift for yourself or others this is the place to go. Since it was a house previously, the Studio has a special comforting atmosphere. Although numerous items line the shelves, it doesn't seem overwhelming. The items are organized well and it's easy to navigate the area. The only difficult part was trying to narrow down what to purchase. The items are well made and the scattered amigurumi are incredibly adorable. I didn't even realize I wanted a crochet pop tart until now. I ended up purchasing several items as gifts. If you are unsure where to start, the co-owners are helpful and welcoming. We met the lady who makes the soaps and the soap is incredible. Overall, excellent place for local gifts and flowers! Free parking is available along Chatham street and in nearby lots.
