    Caye, the sweetie pie
    Allie A.

It's never easy leaving your beloved Four-Legged Child (FLC) at home while you're off on vacation. The last few times I've had to kennel my dog, I've taken him here. Caye (rhymes with Pie) LOVES coming here. He is not stuck in a little square painful metal cage. He gets his own run and has plenty of play time outside to burn off some of that psychotic Jack Russell / chihuahua energy inside him. I can leave him with as many of his favorite "comfort" items as I want - his own bed, stuffed chimpanzee, big old bones to gnaw on, etc. The staff seem to try to get to know him as much as possible, and yes, occasionally I call in to check on how he's doing. They always give me an update and tell what he's been up to. Nowadays, I think you can check online to get a daily photo of your FLC. Prices have gone up over the years, but I don't mind paying it (approx $20-$25 / per day depending on big your FLC is) because they really seem to take great care of their charges. I believe it's run by the husband of my veterinarian in Kings Beach, so that's handy, knowing that if there is a medical emergency, they know what to do. And they're strict - last time I was here, a guy walked in with a puppy he had just adopted. You have to show proof your animal is fully up to date with his shots. He forgot to bring the paperwork, but they worked with him to call the adoption place to get the paperwork faxed over. Another time they accidentally forgot to give me his leash. One of their staff members met up with me in Incline Village to make sure I had it in time to take Caye for a walk.

A passive aggressive Thank You card I received in the mail after my review of this place! Our dog has never been the same since boarding here

I'm updating my review to include the Thank You card we received in the mail after posting this review. I have to say, one year later, our dog has never been the same after boarding here. We regret it to this day. She had a serious injury in her ear that became infected and went untreated for days without us knowing. We were informed it was only a scratch while she was boarded. She hasn't trusted new people since. We never ever wanted money or a refund or compensation from this place, but disappointed in how they spoke to us, handled it and handled it once we posted here too. Let the reviews speak for themselves.

I will kill you in your sleep! Meeeowww!

From the moment I called, the experience was incredible. Their receptionist/assistant was compassionate, listened to my concerns, and offered me the choice of an appointment for the next day or bringing her in immediately for their emergency services. Once I arrived, I met Dr. Jasan Ghuman, who was both compassionate and attentive. We discussed the various possibilities for why my cat was in this condition, and I later met Dr. Gia Kingston, who was equally caring and empathetic. They thoroughly assessed the situation and clearly advised me of my options. I have been a pet owner for many years and have seen numerous veterinarians, but I have never experienced such focused attention, genuine concern, and sincere compassion until now. As new patients, they got us in immediately, took excellent care of my cat, and were also incredibly supportive of my emotional state during such a stressful time. Having lived in North Lake Tahoe for 31 years, I have experienced many services in this area, but I have truly never encountered such a high level of customer service and genuine compassion as I did with this team. Dr. Ghuman and Dr. Kingston are both exceptionally skilled, highly professional, and truly dedicated practitioners who lead with their hearts. I have 100% faith in them and their entire team. I never thought I would switch practices, but I can proudly say that Agate Bay Animal Hospital is now my permanent veterinarian. This was truly the best experience I have ever had with a vet

The original Vet Dr. Hatch used to occupy and own this property before he retired. Anyway since our last Vet retired from seeing patients to work solely in emergency care we needed to find someone new. I give a 2 star rating since the gal at the front desk and the assistant were both lovely girls and know how to treat customers. Sawyers ears were very dirty so the doctor wanted to take a look but alas the other doctor was gone and took the tool with her and asked if I would consider leaving my dog there for 2 hours to waits for the other doctor to reappear. Ummm that would be a hard No. I was surprised that they even asked me that. I don't know any of you! Seriously?!? The reason for todays visit was my dog had a red rash in his nether regions and I was beginning to worry since I first noticed it 2 days ago. My appointment was at 2:30 and that is when I arrived. Like I mentioned the first assistant asked a bunch of questions about Sawyer most of which would have been on the sheet I brought with me all about his last treatment, shots, ect. She mentioned she might want to do $250.00 worth of blood work, um that's a hard no. The initial visit was $75 and then another $50 for I don't know why... The doctor said she had no idea what the rash was and thought maybe it was a bacterial infection....Really?
