Olaf is fantastic! We have a very reactive, nervous German Shepherd who would not let anyone clip her nails or groom her. We were at our wits end and only found a lady who charged $50/hr to train her to let someone hold her paws. We were not even convinced the training would b work. We heard about Olaf and he worked with her for only the price of a nail trim and now she trusts him! He also can groom her. He loves dogs but has some magic. Good things: we took our 15 pound dog here for years and we liked that the grooming happened in less than an hour. Price was usually reasonable, although it constantly increased. Bad things: the owner was generally nice to our dog, but she constantly solicited positive reviews, even to the point of grabbing our phone and dictating a positive review. The owner eventually moved out of state and still ran the shop from a distance. The employees were a mixed bag. As our dog got older, we became disenchanted with the shop. There was an insistence to pay online which tended inflate the price with additional charges. read more

I think we found ourselves our new permanent groomer! We have only taken our dog to one other groomer before, and while I had a decent experience, he was kenneled for a while and I had a hard time getting in touch with the people at the store about his pickup. Not with Dog Holliday! My pup was in and out in about an hour and a half which leads me to believe he was not crated at all in addition to not actually seeing any crates there. My dog is afraid of hard wood floors and doorways so getting him in was a big of a struggle but the man and woman working were very sweet to him and there was also another dog there just hanging out that absolutely helped with his nerves. They were efficient and really listened to our requests. I worry about bringing my dog into the groomers because I am pretty particular about where to trim him and not to touch. They followed exactly what we requested and trimmed the areas that needed it perfectly. There prices are also extremely reasonable! read more

BEST GROOMER EVER!!! This was my first time ever dropping off my pup at the groomer's and they were so quick to schedule me and so flexible as well as we both needed to reschedule a few times due to bad snow weather and health. The prices are amazing here as I did a lot of shopping around before deciding. Being my first time, I was so nervous just from knowing about horror stories of people who had their golden's fur shaved. Definitely not the case at Dog Holliday! Olaf let me stay for the first 5-10 minutes while we introduced ourselves to him and his sweet fur girl Astrid so that Sunny could get comfortable with a new person and new environment. Ever since I got Sunny as a puppy, I did my best to desensitize him to the bathing and nail trimming process. I know now it paid off as Olaf said that he was the best English Cream golden he's ever groomed! :) I feel like a groom experience is 50% groomer and 50% reaction from a dog and it was so nice to hear I set them both up for success. When I returned to pick up my pup, Sunny was so relaxed and so well behaved and I can't forget to mention CLEAN. Being a white dog, it's so hard to maintain a pristine coat. Olaf did the best job ever at brushing out his coat and doing a sanitary trim. He also made his paws so cute and round after getting rid of the grinch hair. I will be forever coming back! The husband and wife team are friendly and they did a great job of grooming Morgan. They are well organized and work well together, Morgan was ready when they promised. They basically told us to take our business elsewhere. We know our rescue pitt terrier is a difficult dog, so we double paid them every time we came in for that inconvenience. Nail trim is 10.00 so we always gave them 20.00... it would have been better if they'd told us to bring him in muzzled every time, we would have agreed to that... Jen and her husband are very friendly and attentive groomers. I have been taking my 2 miniature schnauzers to Dog Holliday for about a year and the scheduling is easy and parking is abundant. Jen always greets us with a big smile and plays with my kids behind the counter before they go in the back room to get bathed. She listens to my grooming needs and gives me a timeline and either calls or texts when they are done (about an hour per dog). The website said they are doing appointment only (because of Covid), so I should call if I want a nail trim. But when I called I was told that was walk in only, but was given a good time to show up. Which was great, she helped me right away, very nice! I was in and out within 5 minutes! I prefer to clip my dog's nails myself, but I've had my 60 lb dog for about 6 weeks from a rescue, so we're still working on a lot of training and trust issues, but her nails are getting real long, and we've been working on it, but not getting far enough fast enough, so I needed an intermediary helper while we keep working. But, the chips that were left on the floor when she was "done" and took my money were minuscule, and it wasn't worth it. I understand, you have to be cautious of the quick, you can only trim so much... but she did basically nothing. Her nails are still way too long. I went to someone who is an "expert" for a reason... to accomplish more than I'm able to alone with a 60lb dog fighting me... not to come home in the exact same position I was in before I left. Will probably need to go somewhere else next week to accomplish what I'd hoped to accomplish here. But, I got a very sweetly presented lesson on dog training after she'd met my perfectly well behaved dog for 45 seconds... I know she was well intentioned, but it came off very condescending when I've had dogs all my life and her advice is not something that would have worked with any of the dogs I've ever owned. I'm sure it works for some, but it's not a fix-all method. I can't say anything about the grooming here, and my experience was extremely short, but I won't be back. read more
