My golden went to get groomed and left not looking like a golden. They completely shaved her. She's scared to even walk by the store.

I try taking two of my dogs to this establishment first dog I totally understand she's a rescue and has trauma, but they have no patience. My second dog is a senior dog very very calm and gentle, I arrived at 11:30 and they denied any service because they said they were closing when closing time is at 2pm, the man in the front is very rude. I did not feel welcome and I will never be coming here again. read more

I started coming to Dog Lovers out of sheer convenience I've been coming here since 2009. Since 2009 I've abandoned Dog Lovers numerous times but like I said due to connivence I always end up back. This is one of the absolute worse places you could ever take your dog to be groomed. My biggest issue with them is that they will service your animal even if he has not been vaccinated. As a previous customer stated, I also use Pet Lovers as a convenience only using them 2-3 times per year, unfortunately they are the only option in our community. The owner/husband is very rude always speaking in tones of disrespect and the grooming is mediocre to bad depending on the day, their website states one thing and the husband says another, it is just terrible they way they treat their customers. It is too bad that they don't understand that it is the community that keeps their business open (even during COVID). I wish that as customers and real dog lovers we could/would boycott there business for one month, maybe then after not having that support, they would treat their customers both pet and owner with the respect the community deserves. read more

I took my dog to Dog Lovers and they chopped him up pretty bad. When I address the issue to the so call owner (Rose) she did not take accountability for anything that went wrong. Instead wanted to blame the dog and the way his hair grows. Rose never apologize or tried to correct the problem. I was hesitant to write this review because everyone makes mistakes but I decided to move forward. I've been taking my dog here for years and while I never loved the service from certain staff or the finished product in terms of style, it was convenient. I can drive there in less than 5 minutes and they don't require appointments. Well the convenience is no longer good enough. I took my dog in and when I picked him up I was told that he was cut with the clippers. The daughter of the owner admitted that she used the wrong size blade although she had been told not to by her mother in the past. The wound had been covered in some sort of liquid bandage so I never got to see how bad it was. A few days later it started to itch and my dog pulled the scab off and it was pretty bad. I've had my dog for 11 years and groomed him myself with clippers MANY times and I've NEVER cut him. I took him back to the groomers to show them. The owner was there and I also let her know that I felt like a poor job had been done in general. I noticed when I got home that a few of his toenails hadn't been trimmed and the hair cut wasn't even. She was very nice but all she did was put more liquid bandage on him and told me to call her directly on her cell phone if I had any issues. There was no apology that I remember, no offer of a partial or full refund, nothing. The final kicker was when I noticed today that that the hair on the pads of his feet weren't cut. I was wondering why he had been bitting his feet despite just getting a hair cut 4 days ago. I now know why. So here I am left to constantly monitor my dog to make sure his wound can heal. He's upset and uncomfortable because he now has to wear a cone to keep him from biting and padding to protect him from scratching. And I have to finish his grooming job at home after paying almost $50 to a professional groomer. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

This place is sketchy. I been coming here as a last resort when 34 Pet Shop isn't available. I really dred this place. The first time I came I was charged 65, which is pretty reasonable for a 40 pound maltipoo. The second time, they charged 75 when she didn't even look as bad as the first time. They do price gouging to profit what they feel is worth there time. It's on the price board... '& up' And don't let them get to you with the act they put on, "oh poor baby, yeah she's gonna need this and that". They sob and whine to make it seem like a severe case just to up-sell you. One time I was four bucks short and they really weren't gonna help me out, they don't love dogs as much as they say they do. My dog hates this place. When she came back the second time, she shat on the floor. Also that green gel crap is weak. Besides for hotspots, they give that to everybody as a cop out for whatever wrong they did to your pet. When I contacted Rose with this issue she had the nerve to say I have fleas at my house or I was seeing things. I showed Rose & her employee nothing but respect and it nearly brought me to tears the way she treated me. Just dismissed me completely. Mine and my girlfriend's dog hasn't been to a grooming salon in a while and today I got him groomed which took a about 5 hours. My dog was really shy to go in at first, which he usually is. I ordered the works and they cut him really good and did his ears which usually isn't done by any other grooming salon I have been to. They also trimmed his nails, brushed his tail out really good, and gave him a bath that made him smell really good. They took really good care of my dog because when we came back our dog was jumping around happy because he got himself clean and cut. The environment felt very safe and warm welcoming, even through this pandemic. They provided gloves and masks to the customers when they first walk in which a lot of stores do not which is a really good thing during these times. read more

I posted a good review a few years back because I had a great experience with Dog Lover's, however the last two grooming experiences have been very disappointing. I took two of my elderly cocker spaniels (ages 14 & 13) in for their anuual summer trim. I went on a Thursday because they have a $5 off coupon on their website. The positives are: -They open on time -My dogs were done in less than 3 hours. The negatives are: - Very unfriendly staff - They do not put bows or bandanas on the dogs like other groomers do - The cuts were subpar to say the least - They nicked both my dog on several places and my older girl was still bleeding when they brought her out to me. They cut her quick and the lady proceeded to tell me that it was my fault because I do not cut her nails often enough. - They never apologized for hurting my dogs and even worse they didn't tell me. I saw all the nicks once I got home. Needless to say, I will NEVER take my dogs to Dog Lovers ever again! Its super close to my house and I can conveniently drop off and pick my dogs with ease, however the mistreatment and disregard they show for pets and owners is inexcusable. Second time I asked them to not cut my dogs pony tail, and they did and also cut my Dog to close in several area leaving her red and bleeding. After speaking to the female owner I was told this happens all the time and was given a gel to apply to my dog. I should have consulted the reviews on Yelp prior to selecting this groomer. I feel so guilty, my dog came home with a horrible razor burn on the back of his ears and a rather large one on his shoulder that looks like a hotspot. My cute little Toy Poodle/Bichon mix now looks like a little raggedy possum, so happy his hair will be growing back. He is uneven, his feet and toes are scraggly, ears and face uneven, and the hair on his legs is different lengths. I'll give one star for doing his tail as I asked. He is constantly scratching. He was given an unsightly sanitary cut that he did not need (his hair was only long, not nasty). He is now all pink under his hair. I visited this business on the recommendation of a friend who was a long time customer LONG ago. I believe in supporting local businesses but certainly not if they are sub par. I took my dog there after he recovered from getting neutered. His hair was matted so they had to shave him down. After a few days I noticed he was coughing; Took him to the vet who said he contracted Kennel Cough; came out of pocket for that (exam and meds) His hair started growing back except in one spot on his hind leg. I looked it up online and spoke with the tech assistant at my vets office. What I found online and what the tech said were the same - he may have contract mange from the groomer not cleaning the clippers. His vet appt is soon and of course I will have to come out of pocket again. Never had this issue when he was going to Pet Smart....needless to say my dog will not be going back there again! read more

The African American woman in the front looks like she hates her job and doesn't really care to give you suggestions or understand your needs. My dog was shedding and i wanted them to comb it out, but they were going to charge $75 plus tax. Are you freaking kidding me?
