I could not imagine the change in which I am now living on the daily, but it's real. It's a life I always wanted with my dog, a life I previously thought impossible. I looked long and hard for a qualified trainer, it was all the same BS, none of it would have helped this dog. I have a dog that I love, she is a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd Mix and she became too hard to handle. A high drive dog, needing more than I could give at the time, who became unruly often savage even. At the forefront: Extreme anxiety, separation anxiety and an unruly nature of alertness that did not comply with said anxiety. Overprotective, disobedient, barking and lunging and terrorizing little and big dogs alike-- she was lost in terrible moments, unable to hear or care for us while she was lost in that world of anxiety. Elevators, car rides and anything that involved society became a big problem. We had to take her to the bathroom at the crack of dawn or in the middle of the night only, our lives became a big bubble of stress. I thought I was going to live a sacrificial life for this dog and just endure the pain and torture that anxiety created and leaked onto us.. it sucked. I did not anticipate a near-attack-like situation to happen, but eventually it did. Thank God I reacted quick enough to prevent said accident and no contact was made, but it happened and it was my fault and the person it happened to lied and tried to have my dog and me punished. Thank God again for my my love of tech, because I had cameras and proof that this POS person was lying, alas, the fault was my own for not having a handle on this animal, I found Dominant Dogs, Leonard Ludovico changed everything. I knew from the moment I met him, we had a chance.. I spoke to a lot of people, met with trainer x, y, z and Q, none of them gave me confidence, Leonard was the outlier. I'm going to tell you some of how Leonard has helped us, much of it I didn't even ask for, this man is a Godsend. She doesn't lunge or bark or react to dogs anymore, not even reactive ones. We can be walking on the same side of the sidewalk and, well, she's often the star of the show. If there is an inkling of an issue. A quick "leave it" and a leash correction and she stops.. and the initial response to seeing them, she might look their way, but even as that same dog reacts, mine really, does not. Holy. She is often confused with a service animal now, people ask me how I did it, I have no clue, Leonard did it. I'm just honoring the training he gave us both. The barking has stopped at night and in the morning. People passing our front door/balconies/hallways.. she lets us know once, here and there, but ultimately a completely different dog. Little dogs are no longer a problem.. Humans aren't a problem, big dogs, I have moved seamlessly through crowds with her by my side.. World Cup games at Century City Mall, people on top of us practically, she is incredible now. She listens, her attention isn't perfect to us, she is young still at 2 years old, but its getting better and the difference pre-Leonard is so drastic I can't even properly explain it... She looks happy, not fearful, her eyes have changed, she is more confident, we are more confident, she goes to the bathroom without being overly alert. She eats her food slowly now.. She chews and chomps the kibble, it crunches in her mouth, then she pauses and continues, her bowl used to be swallowed and gone in seconds, she now takes minutes.. I didn't expect this, Leonard just did it. I walk out of doors and through gates side by side with the animal and we move at a comfortable pace. The dog is not a menace anymore. She does not charge headfirst out the door anymore. She used to nuzzle at doors and doorknobs attempting to get out first like the lead dog of a sled or something.. The dog is now leash trained, obedient and by our side, but with care and protection, not the stress or hassle of pulling/barking, etc. She doesn't attack my hands anymore, she doesn't jump onto our bed and tear at the blankets to wake us up, she is a respectful lady now. She goes to outdoor restaurants with us now, laying or sitting by our side while we eat and calmly gets up with us when we leave. There is more, I can't fit it all. Dominant Dogs might be the answer to your dog's problems, your problems. He might be a dog whisperer, I do believe it to be true. The man knows psychology, people, animals, environmental/behavioral.. all of it, maybe, the care along the way, you know this is his passion, Leonard gave us more than I hoped for, we even got great pictures and updates and tips while she was with him for those weeks at bootcamp. Our lives are forever changed, I am comfortable with this dog and I cherish the training, I myself am better, I needed help and didn't even know it, our whole family needed help and DOMINANT DOGS DELIVERED!!

Heidi is my personal dog. We tried one trainer for a few days and she was so bad I fired her. I then bit the bullet and hired Dog Training Elite in Los Angeles. They were a little more expensive than other trainers, but Heidi was impossible for me to train, despite all my efforts. Jon, the owner came to the house for a free consult. At that time he was the only trainer at Elite as they had just opened in LA. He later got another trainer, Clayton. Both worked with Heidi and pretty much failed, but they helped her with a few things. Now, you would think I would write a bad review, but no. No one, I don't think will ever be able to get the most stubborn, spoiled 120 pound monster to do a thing, but I love her. Jon and Clayton were never late, not once and that is important to me. Both could see my frustration, but they kept trying and trying and they did mange to get her to do a couple of things. They kept their appointments as they should. I could see all the effort they were putting into getting Heidi to cooperate. They would teach stay and the next day she would refuse. They taught heel which she has never done for me. Nothing lasted more than a day or two and I did all my assigned home work--yes, they give homework to help your dog succeed. They even went so far as to give me a couple extra sessions at no cost because she was such a pain. They did everything they could. But Heidi was just not having it. But, she loved Jon and Clayton so much. She would get so excited when they came to the door. She especially loved Clayton, sorry Jon, but a girl gets a crush and what can you do. She loved them both though and they were so good to her. They kept their promises (the inability to get Heidi to do much is not their fault). There are only a few dogs that just won't or can't be trained and I have one under my feet as I write. They never broke her spirit-so important. She is loving, never would bite and is so very sweet. She is great with other dogs. That said, I have had to hire a dog walker because I am older and Heidi will just knock me over and no one should ever walk a dog they can't control at all times. I know she misses her time with Jon and her crush Clayton and if for a second I thought they could train my big beast I would hire them again. But she is fully grown now and I don't see what anyone else could have done. They tried it all. I work with her everyday and she just looks at with a "No, not doing that" face. She is wonderful, just the most stubborn dog I have ever seen in my many years. They did show her such love, that I do think they helped her be the happiest dog. What I love about Jon and his company is how professional they are. They keep up with the latest training tactics. They are kind. They clearly love dogs. So, I do recommend them. They know what they are doing, but they are not going to hurt a dog and make her depressed just to get the result they want, I won't either. They just love dogs and I bet never fail. Heidi is just, well, a rare exception. And I also think she has a tad bit of brain damage for what reason we don't know. Had nothing to with Jon or Clayton. So hire them. Unless your dog's name is Heidi, then just give up. Jon and Clayton, Heidi says hi.

I inquired about my German Shepherd being enrolled in their service dog training program and what I've gathered for multiple phone calls as they do the bare minimum just so they can register your dog as service. I was hopeful when I first contacted them and they said they would work with my dog until they had accomplished our goals, but now inquiry again they said there would be an additional charge if I want her to learn more than one task since that's all they require. I don't think having a finished well trained service dog is doable in an eight week program.. I would also like to include the fact that they are very prideful in their five star google reviews yet if checkout reviews on yelp or social media there is not great feedback regarding their tools and training techniques. Every time you're too preoccupied, lazy, or too forgiving when to dog doesn't behave as trained, you are allowing the dog to move the line. Pretty soon you're back to where you started. It is Obedience Training for dog and handler. If you call your dog with "come" and it is trained to come right in front of you and sit, then you continually allow your dog to come back to your general direction but not as trained, it won't be long before your dog isn't listening to the command "come." We first took our Siberian Husky to be trained. Smart dog, but bred to pull. If they can pull a sled they can easily pull my 100 pound wife off her feet. And it happened too many times. Allie and the staff patiently worked with our dog. Siberians are notorious for their independent steak. After all, at the front of a sled they need to make decisions to avoid calamities. Although I don't sled with my dog I do bike where I have a specialized connected lead that I can quick-release and use a special x-harness. Allie was fabulous and patient as we each needed to learn a new way of communicating. She pulls on the x-harness but never on the leash. Fast forward five years and we adopted a Belgian Shepherd Malinois from a working line family. Allie and the team worked with this dog for a month l, and then trained me. I now have a wonderful loving companion who loves to work, loves to train and enjoys just chilling. Thank you.
