When moving to Philly, finding good pet care/boarding options for my dog was high on the priority list. DoggieVIP has been amazing time and time again. I am super grateful to the staff here for taking such good care of my sweet but somewhat anti social dog while I am away, and for always being so communicative about how she is doing and any small issues that arise during her stay. The space is clean, they are strict about capacity, and they do a thorough socialization check prior to allowing dogs to come for boarding or daycare. This past weekend, I had an issue arise where my sitter had to leave town unexpectedly. DoggieVIP absolutely saved the day by allowing my dog to come stay for the weekend on late notice. They answered my panicked texts and calls immediately and took such great care of Fred while I was away. This spot is great about sending photo updates and all reservations can be made via text message, which makes scheduling a breeze. I'm emotional writing this, as my sweet dog passed away unexpectedly in March, but this is a long overdue review. To fellow dog parents, I cannot thank this place enough for the care they provided my Great Dane, Mattis, over the past 3 years. Their employees have always been kind and truly enjoy spending time with the dogs. There was always a warm welcome, "Mattis! Hey buddy" before we had even checked in -my dog LOVED going here. The general manager, Antoine, is seriously the nicest and most thoughtful person. Anytime a dog got sick, he'd let us know when and what symptoms to be on the lookout for in our own dog. Mattis would break a nail, Antoine would call me to let me know and what he was doing about it, and then I'd pick Matt up at the end of the day with a bandage carefully wrapped on his foot. He knows each and every dogs' personality, who to separate, who plays well together, when certain dogs need a break inside etc. Antoine, your care, hard work and attention to detail made us immensely comfortable leaving Mattis during the workday, I am so grateful! The owners are friendly and heavily involved, it's common to see them at pickup/throughout the week. My work schedule could be hectic, a few times Matt was the last to be picked up and they were always gracious about it. There's nanny cams of the dogs every day. And my most FAVORITE part, we would get multiple texts/photos of our guy every time he stayed with them. Mattis would get so excited at morning drop off and come home exhausted from a fun day playing with his doggy companions Living in a city apartment and having a fully in-person job can make dog ownership difficult at times, I'm thankful Mattis had a wonderful place to stay and play during working hours. I want to give them more stars if I can. Recently enrolled my new puppy to this business for daycare (firstly at the old location and now at their new location at Riverwalk) and I love them. They are extremely responsive and they take care of your dog like their own. The staff is extremely friendly and it's been just a pleasure working with them. They provide pick up/drop off services if you live in the area, which is extremely convenient. They also have boarding/sitting/walking services as well. Prices are not too crazy. I've tried all different grooming places before coming here and NO ONE beats their price for baths. And your dog will always come back dry!! My dog loves coming here for boarding and day care. You can watch your fur baby on their cameras during the day, and all the other cute doggies. Doggie VIP had to close for awhile b/c they were victims of the flooding last Fall and I really missed them, so glad they are back. I only send my dog a couple times a month b/c I WFH, but but it's so helpful, especially when I have an important meeting. I feel like paying for one day of daycare gets me two days of peace b/c my rambunctious dog is so tired the next day! I've used a few different daycares in Philly, all have been pretty good but Doggie VIP is the best for the following reasons: 1. The OUTSIDE space is awesome. My dog LOVES going outside. I live in a high rise and while we go on walks, I love that he gets a chance to run around unencumbered yet safely. It's one of very few day cares that offer this and the only one in center city area. 2. Web cam/photos. If you're a helicopter dog parent, never fear. Almost every time we go, I get a photo or two. It's fun checking the web cams. It's not necessary but it makes me happy. 3. I think his name is Darren - he is the best groomer. My dog won't let anyone else cut his nails. I love that I can schedule a bath for my dog while he's a daycare and pick him up all clean. 4. Great communication, easy to text or email to make reservations. 5. Reasonable prices, especially if you get a package. 6. They have fun free events like pictures with Santa. Honestly there were a few points during the pandemic it was my only social interaction, so I appreciated it! My only tiny concern is that there's nobody onsite overnight when you board. But I know that helps keep the prices lower and that is the case at most places. read more

Cannot give them more stars. We put our dog there for daycare from time to time and he always comes home a tired doggo. Loved that the staff are very easy to take to and making the reservations is relatively painless. They send me pictures throughout his time at daycare. It seems like they let the dogs play outside quite often. I get plenty of pictures from him playing outside and he's always outside whenever I pick him up. The staff seemed to be quite caring and they remember to take his collar off every time he goes to daycare. I trust that they take good care of my dog and I honestly never really check the cameras (even though they provide camera access), because they keep me very well informed throughout his day. read more

There's only one downside to DoggieVIP, and that's the moment my pup realizes where we're going and tries to drag me to their door. While I don't enjoy being dragged around by a very stubby, excited hotdog, I do enjoy picking up a tired, happy pup at the end of the day. So that moment of uncontrolled excitement Nox gets in the mornings is worth it, I suppose ;) He loves it here and the staff is so wonderful. They treat the pooches in their care like rockstars and Nox is always happy (and exhausted, thank god) when I pick him up. We have so many wonderful feelings about this place. I should also start by stating that we have to move within the city and are basing our move on proximity to Doggie VIP... Our dog, Thor, has been coming here since we adopted him a few months ago. He LOVES it. It is the only daycare in the city we could find that has a gated, turf, outdoor space. They bring the dogs out multiple times a day which is HUGE for those working on housebreaking. The dogs are split up by size and are kept in smaller areas, which makes the space feel more comfortable and less overwhelming for the furry friends. They have webcams on each room and the outside space so you can always see what your dog is up to. The. Staff. Are. The. Best. They are attentive and text you pictures of your dog. They also took time to teach Thor tricks on a quieter day. They are so responsive on their cell phone and are always accommodating to last minute changes. If you get the monthly package, the cost works out to about $24 a day. Again, the best we've found in the city. I could go on... but my thumbs are tired. I've never left a review before but I am so disgusted I have to. First off, my dog use to come here and loved it, all of the people that worked there loved him. Victoria was great. They had to close due to Ben Franklin Pwky flooding for months. They've reopened and it's all new people. Not sure if under new management. But we boarded our dog there to go on vacation. First time back since they've reopened. There is an older gentleman that stays outside with them during doggy daycare. I first noticed him going after my dog. I kept watching on their camera and saw him actually KICK my dog twice! Every time my dog would start playing with another dog he would rush over and kick him away!! My dog is a sweet loving dog. Only a year and a half. He is an AmStaff. Anyone with any experience or knowledge with bully breeds know that sometimes they like to play on their back hind legs. Almost looks like they are wrestling. This is just the way they play! It's not aggressive. This guy would kick my dog whenever my dog would play this way. I saw him do it several times with other dogs. As I'm about to call them I get a text saying that my dog is having anxiety and very anxious and I need to pick him up. I called and told them I saw him kick my dog multiple times. The girl replied "he was trying to fight another dog." That is complete BS. I was watching the entire time. He was PLAYING!! Since we're on vacation, We had him picked up by family. He's pretty traumatized. I've asked 3 times for the guy's name and I haven't had a reply yet. I also just realized they've disabled my access to the cameras now!! Super shady. My dog goes to doggy daycare at Barkadelphia, Heart and Paw and Houndstown and he's never had a problem and the people always say how good he is. This place is terrible now and the guy working outside should not be around dogs. He's obviously not trained to be around all breeds of dogs. GREAT doggie daycare, especially for those who live at Park Towne Place given the convenience of pick up and drop off straight from/to your apartment (for a small additional cost but worth it for people who work hours that don't allow them to drop off or pick up their dog themselves). There are cameras both inside and outside in the yard area that you can check in on, which helped made me feel extremely comfortable in the beginning before building a relationship with everyone. At first I was skeptical of bringing my dog to daycare but my dog I don't think could be any more excited when we're walking or pulling up! Throughout the day I get texts of photos and sometimes videos of my dog which is also great. Communication is 100% and I've never waited on a response whenever I've had a question about something. My fiancé and I live in Park Towne Place - we adopted a greyhound (Milkman) in April. We use DoggieVIP's walking services on days that we both travel for work. It's very easy to book walks (usually I email them) and they are very understanding when our schedule changes at the last minute. Milkman is not a very excitable dog, but he wags his tail and runs to the employees at DoggieVIP so I know he must love his walks. Everyone that works at DoggieVIP is so kind and it's obvious that they love the animals. I look forward to the pictures that they send every time they walk Milkman - the best pictures I have of him were taken by DoggieVIP! We wanted something close to home and with people who had a deep sense of caring as if the dogs there were their own and it was the perfect fit! We took our poodle mix to Doggie VIP today for his daycare trial. The staff treated our rescue like their own and made his nervous dog parents feel confident and reassured that we were leaving him in competent and caring hands. The facility is clean, bright, and cheerful. The dogs all seemed happy and relaxed. You can watch your dog at any point in the day on the live cameras via app on your phone which was one of the reasons we decided to go with Doggie VIP after touring several other daycares in the area. Doggie VIP offers both an indoor area divided into a large dog and small dog side, and a larger outdoor area. The dogs are taken outside multiple times during the day. We were so impressed by how clean both the indoor and outdoor facilities felt. The indoor room is bright and well ventilated. The staff keeps a close eye on all the dogs throughout the day, sending text updates and photos. They provided us with a detailed update of our dog's day including when he last used the bathroom upon pickup and how he did with the other dogs. We thought it great that the staff knew all of the dogs by name! All of this, plus they offer package rates that are very competitive and include extras like nail trim or bath! What sold us was that, after touring several daycares with our sometimes nervous rescue pup, this was the first that he seemed comfortable with even as we first arrived, wagging his tail and calm.
