I have used Philly Fit Dog to walk both my large dogs twice a day, 5x a week for about a 1 year now and I absolutely love and trust them, and there's nothing more important between a dog owner and the dog walker/sitter than trust! Let me summarize the main reasons why you should hire them. 1) They are VERY RESPONSIVE, there's nothing more frustrating than needing to make changes to your walk or book a walk for a last minute weekend and no one is responding. Whitney responds very fast and always does her best to fulfill your needs. She is very professional and has never let me down. 2) Walkers that pay attention and are attentive. I have had about three consistent walkers and they all follow the very specific long and detailed instructions I leave for my pups. Especially Bridget, she is wonderful and so caring with my dogs! 3) Petcheck technology, you can easily schedule/change, track the walk, view the walk report card, and see pictures from the walk. I also leave instructions and building codes on here, it's very easy to use and seems like Whitney checks it very often when you requests new walks. You can also leave notes for the walker that day, this is useful if there are minor changes or if you just need to leave a FYI for your walker. I've been using Philly Fit Dog since I adopted my pup in late 2014. I couldn't be happier with them in every way possible. My dog is a 75-pound rescue pit bull that I adopted from PAWS. He was about 7 months old when I got him, and though he loves people, he's never been good with other dogs. In short, he was a bit of a problem dog. Philly Fit Dog has handled him amazingly well. We have been using Philly Fit Dog to walk Mojo for 6 months now, and I'm not sure that I have ever dealt with as responsive, and responsible a company. We are notified via an e-mail alert as soon as Mojo's walk starts, and as soon as it is finished, always with a nice 3-4 sentence note about what Mojo did on his walk. Whitney, the owner, seems to be available 24/7 to deal with any issue, whether it's a last-minute schedule change (which they have always been able to accommodate), or something else. I can't even tell you how happy I am with Philly Fit Dog! I looked into a few services in the city and I chose them because they don't walk dogs from different households together. We have a 11-week old golden retriever puppy and I have been very nervous about leaving her home alone for increasing amounts of time. With Philly Fit dog, the walker checks in through the PetCheck app. I can then see how much time is left on Penny's walk, and afterwards the walker leaves detailed notes on what they did, if she did #1/2, photos, and GPS tracking showing where they went. Since I know what time they came/left, I can plan what time I need to be home from work. They also offer varying lengths of walks and discounts on their rates if you book 3 or more walks in one week. I have been doing the 60 minute walks which allows time for the walker to walk her, feed her, and play with her. I've been debating whether or not to write a review about my experiences with PFD, but after yesterday's walk I feel like I need to do it. I DON'T recommend using them until they do better screening and training with their walkers. My first overall impression with the company when we started using them was great! Very convenient to book, accommodating with last minute requests, the woman (I'm sorry I forgot her name) who met with my boyfriend and I during the meet and greet was professional courteous and definitely put our worries at ease (because we weren't too keen on the idea of having strangers come in our home to walk our pup.) We both have pretty crazy schedules so we really were relying on PFD. But yesterday was the last time I will be using their walkers. I have to say that Whitney has been very responsive, professional, and helpful during the issues we have with some walkers. The problems we had were with the professionalism of the walkers and the consistency. The things I have seen on our home security system cameras: a walker sitting in our house for hours in between walks while our dog is in her crate then going over to her and sticking toys through the crate at her; walkers going through our kitchen cabinets, and eating our food; There have been times when I have gotten home from work and our door has been left unlocked, and most recently our key box was left open for hours on our steps allowing anyone access to our keys. Not okay. I scheduled an hour walk for our dog, when I called to question whether or not she had been walked and to report the walker sitting on our floor eating our food... I was told they were having "issues" with our dog... fine, our dog can be slow to warm up with strangers since there has been a lack of consistency with who has been walking her (basically a different walker each time) then i would appreciate someone to communicate if there is a problem and have the walker leave instead of sitting in my house for the scheduled time and leaving me with the impression my dog has gone for an hour walk. Again, Whitney addresses these issues very professionally and I thank you for that. This company has broken my trust with allowing any walkers to come into my home and walk my dog. read more

I have used three dog walkers in the past and I have to say that Whitney and Abby are phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are so sweet with our dog, they are always on time and they are wonderful to work with. They use pet check technology and it's the greatest thing on the planet. First, we can schedule appointments online and we pay through a credit card online. It's super easy. We also get an email when they get to our apt, can see where they took our dog with this gps tracker and then we get a check out notification with the appointment duration and a cute note each time they come to visit. I only have tremendous things to say about Philly fit dog. We found them around Christmas time because my fiancé and I were traveling to Ireland for the holidays and this was the first time we were leaving our two year old adopted dog Daisy. Needless to say we were very nervous about her getting enough exercise and whether or not she was being "relieved". She is a high energy hound mix with a tendency to become destructive if left alone, bored or not exercised enough. My fiancé found Philly fit dog on the computer and they came to our house to meet with us and Daisy and answered all of our questions and concerns. While we were abroad we could not wait to receive the e-mails from the dog runners because it gave us such a sense of relief to know that Daisy was being taken care of. We loved the messages the runners would leave a well as being able to track the path of their run and we were also amused at the icons to let you know if your dog peed (fire hydrant) or pooped (shovel) on the trip. You can also add on extras like tip, dog feeding, or special requests if you need too. The appointment system is soooo easy to use. You select the day you want,the time you want and you wait to see if your appointment gets approved and who will be coming. We were lucky enough to request a certain runner for Daisy when she is available. It is also great that you can request different lengths of walks or runs. Some dogs may be ok with a 20 minute walk....but we always schedule a 30 minute run since Daisy is high energy and very active. We love to see a tired pup when we get home. Whitney, the owner, has been a God send. She is quick to respond to e-mail whether it be with questions, concerns or clarifications. She is also willing to work with you to provide you the best service, even if you may not deserve it. For example, today, my fiancé was concerned because Daisy did not relieve herself on her morning walk before we both left for work. He was concerned that she would be suffering all day long. I knew it was a shot in the dark and extremely short noticed that anyone would be available to take her out but I e-mailed Whitney and within an hour, I had someone scheduled to be at my house to take care of Daisy. I was very fortunate because it is not fair to schedule an appointment the day of (I always try to do at least a day or two before if I know she needs to be taken care of) and they are not always able to accommodate on such short notice and I am extremely 100% appreciative that Whitney was able to work something out. This is the best service I have seen. They are trustworthy, honest and you can tell they genuinely care about your dog and they absolutely do everything they can to work with you to make sure you are happy with their service. read more

I could not agree with Bobbi A. more as my experience with Whitney and the whole crew at Philly Fit dog has been truly spectacular. I initially hired them because I had hip surgery and was on crutches so I needed someone to come and walk my 2 terriers. Not only were the walkers on time, but they followed everything I asked to the letter (which one to crate, how to lock our overly obnoxious front door, to please avoid other dogs etc). Since I was there when the walker came I got to see first hand how much they genuinely cared for the animals they were walking. I chose to finally write this review today because I was particularly impressed with a very last minute walk request that Whitney and our walker, Claire, accommodated even though I completely forgot to schedule the walk ahead of time. My wife and I were planning a 2-week trip and needed to secure dog walks for our Pit mix, who is anxious, strong, and unsocialized with most other dogs. Whitney is very understanding of last minute schedule adjustments if needed...couldn't ask for better customer service. The dog walker I met I truly liked, he always try's to add some "training" in their 30 minute session (aside from the walk/feeding). We've been using Philly Fit Dog for a weekly walk or run for our dog for several months. We have also used them for in-home pet care while we were out of town. Our dog has major (like, major) issues with dog reactivity, so I'm always a bit nervous when anyone else cares for her in the city where dog encounters are nearly inevitable. I relied on Yelp reviews to find a new dog walking service when I moved. I love my old walker - Top Tails - but they don't service Fairmount. Whitney and Abby were so relaxed and professional when they did their house visit, and my pug was immediately comfortable around them. From the first walk, I was hooked. Pet Check Technology, which they use, is absolutely genius. I get a notification when his walk starts and ends (with a nice little email summarizing his walk) and I can choose to look at a map of his walk. A map. Brilliant. Diesel has actually lose three pounds since he moved (a big deal for a senior pug - could be attributed to a third floor walk up, or that he enjoys walking in his new neighborhood so much more - all the smells), but I really think his walks with Whitney and Abby have a lot to do with it. For the first time since he was a young puppy, the vet commended my efforts on his weight loss. I recently recommended them to a friend in the neighborhood and got a free walk for my dog as a thank you. Oh, and added bonus...I found out after already hiring them and being happy with their service that Whitney used to work for my old walking company before venturing out on her own. We have been using Philly Fit Dog since we adopted our black lab mix back in September, and they are the absolute best! They are 100% reliable, always have someone available to walk or run your dog, and have accommodated "last-minute" requests a number of times. We have even used them for overnight stays and they have been great! They arrive and depart at the appropriate times and use a great check-in/check-out scan technology that send us an email when they arrive and depart. We can even track the walk online after the check in if we want to! And, they provide an email at the end of a walk/run/overnight stay, letting you know how things went. Also, they use a lockbox which stays at our house, which is a great system as we've seen other dog walkers carrying tons of keys on their waist when out walking dogs. We feel much more comfortable knowing our house key won't be potentially lost or stolen.
