I see lots of comments about big dogs, but Monica and Doglover Dogwalk was also an amazing find for our 6-pound chihuahua-yorkie mix. I rescued CoCo from a puppy mill in LA and she always had trouble socializing with other dogs. She's not aggressive, but just timid and anxious. A couple of months after CoCo started going to Monica's daycare, I took her to Greenlake on a busy day, and it was like I had a completely different dog!!! She was calm and totally appropriate with unfamiliar dogs of all sizes! My husband and I were soooooo impressed with how much CoCo benefited from being at Monica's doggy daycare. In addition, Monica is able to work with our schedule for daycare and boarding, and she is very responsible with CoCo. The saddest thing about us moving to Bellevue is that we will never be able to find someone to replace Monica. But I feel better knowing that, whenever we travel out of town, we will go out of our way to board CoCo with Monica! read more

Monica has been caring for our dog for the last four years - and treats our dog (and us) like family. An update to my earlier review: I still maintain my rating. The owner admits that she does leave the dogs alone. Dogs (even the well behaved ones), like people, can have good and bad days. Please check local dog day-cares and how they operate. The one we ended up going to has a minimum of two people watching the dogs at ALL times. As i said, this is my opinion. I do remember that one of the "well behaved" Bernese dogs (who was actually really sweet) was humping another dog while we were there....in my opinion all it would take is for a normally friendly dog to have an off day and you to not be there for it to cause a problem. I cant believe that after 7 years in the business you do not recognize this. Btw, even dog parks forbid bringing intact dogs. At least people who flout this have the sense to be there and watch their dogs so it usually not a problem. Again, this is just my opinion and I did like your establishment other than this one hiccup - just so happens it was a deal breaker for me. read more

Monica is fabulous. My 9-year old yellow lab Fargo loves the gang and is so obviously more relaxed and happy after a day with Monica and friends. Monica is fantastic! Our pup started playgroup with her at only 12 weeks and she continues to attend several days per week, now 1 year of age. She has also spent a weekend boarding with her. My husband and I both work full time, and it gives us huge piece of mind to know Monica will be caring for her while we are gone. We especially love the convenience that she offers in picking up and dropping off our pup. She is also very flexible, often helping us out at a moment's notice. Most importantly, it is clear that Monica always puts your dog's best interests and health first. The only one in my house who loves Monica more than me is my dog Nina, and that's saying a lot. She's reliable, flexible and has great dog sense. I'm not a fan of public dog parks so the fact that she has her own huge fenced area for dogs to run and play is ideal. We LOVE Monica!! Monica has been picking up our dog 3-4 times a week for 6 years. She is incredibly sweet, genuinely cares for each pet, and loves all her clients like her own. In addition to weekly play group she's boarded our buddy during long vacations and even came to pick him up for a few days when I went into labor. I'm very comfortable entrusting our dog to her care and he considers her one of his people (he's adverse to strangers otherwise). Her service is pretty cool...she does 'play groups' in her backyard where every dog gets ample play time and attention. She'll pick up and drop off too which is awesome. I know my buddy is much happier being able to get out and play with other dogs and he gets excited when she arrives which is a good sign. I know she cares because more than just doing the job she'll send me notes to check in if he's not feeling well, let's me know if she notices anything 'off', and has made recommendations that my dog would like or be healthier. Doglover Dogwalk is the perfect place to have your dog during the day for peace of mind while you are at work. We adopted a Sheltie in December and wanted her to be socialized while still young, but with us working were'nt sure of the best way to do that, especially since it was winter at the time. Trixie has been picked up every weekday by Monica since she was a puppy. When she was a puppy Monica kept her in the house with her while the grown up dogs played outside. When she was big enough she got to join the others outside. Trixie has always been extremely excited when picked up for the playdate, and when she gets home has a good nap (sometimes even on the way home) after herding all of her buddies all over Monica's property. Our beloved Weimaraner, Harriet, has been going to daycare with Monica for over a year and we couldn't be any happier! She cares for her small "pack" of dogs in her own, spacious backyard. There is plenty of room for the dogs to run, chase, wrestle, and fetch. The at-home setting certainly puts Harriet at ease (as opposed to a sterile kennel setting) and it gives us peace of mind knowing that she is getting plenty of outdoor exercise in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Monica is incredibly knowledgeable about dog behavior, nutrition, and training, and it is evident she loves her daycare dogs just as much as she loves her own. The very best part about Monica's service?? She picks up and drops off Harriet each and every day, saving us an enormous amount of time and hassle. She even leaves us notes a couple times a week to let us know what Harriet's been up to at daycare.
