A stop at dogma is mandatory for me every time I come home from the beach. I don't know what it is about their mint lemonade but it is so damn addicting. I'm more of a burger girl and that's what I get here but they do have hot dogs and they're excellent too. They have a ton of random flavors and every single one that I've tried has turned out yummy. I love to sit outside and watch the cars pass by on Biscayne. A combo w/ fries & a drink is under $10. I think it could be a couple dollars cheaper but if dining with a friend, you can split 1 portion of fries. It closes at 9pm and with all the other stuff happening in the area, it could be open a little later. read more

My first clue that Dogma was going to the dogs was when, earlier this year, I, as I have done at least once or twice a month for years, called to place a pick-up order for my family and was told in a less than polite manner that they no longer take orders over the phone. Not so crazy about standing in the sun while I place my order and then wait, I stopped going for a while. I went back yesterday really looking forward to the mint lemonade and a Sedona dog. :( The "temporarily out of avocado" stickers are beginning to yellow--no point in having a Sedona without the avocado. When I asked about the mint lemonade, I was brightly referred to the new offerings which included Pabst Blue Ribbon and was told that they are going for more of a "50s" vibe. Let me get this out of the way: if you order the chili fries you may not need anything else. They're pretty serious. If you order a hot dog with your chili fries, don't order a chili dog. If you order a chili dog AND chili fries, you're a god among men. I've long frequented Colombian hot dog joints. Rarely anything outside of that. I've never been a big hot dog guy, so the Colombians, they dress those things up enough that I kind of forgive the fact that I don't know what a hot dog is. Dogma is the only place -- outside of the Los Verdes of the world -- that I'll frequent and willingly order a dog. They've got a pretty extensive menu, so if you're like me, you can dress your dog in just about anyway you like. Just recently, I ordered a hot dog wrapped in BACON and topped with cheese. Hash tag America. (I ordered that with the chili cheese fries, which is how I know that the two together, that's an all-day meal.) They've got a few other things on the menu. Burgers and sausages and the like. There's a bison burger what called my attention. I don't know if I'll ever get to it, though. The hot dogs are THAT good. And really, if you're going to a place called Dogma, it's either because you're a huge Kevin Smith fan or you just want something that screams acid reflux in a tight casing. For me, it's the latter. Bring back the veggie dogs!! I used to drive from Miami Beach just to eat @ dogma twice a month or more, even had a punch card. I recommended Dogma to my friends and brought my family when they visited from out of town. We loved it! Now there is no veggie option. When I inquired about veggie dogs they recommended another restaurant that had a "delicious veggie burger". Who cares? I can get a veggie burger at Burger King. Just a hop and a skip up the street from my favorite Starbucks, so it makes a great place to grab a meal and a study break. The sauces can't be beat, and no matter what you order, the flavors are unique and delicious. However, being a gluttonous American, I like to think that for five dollars I should be able to get a burger that satiates my appetite instead of whetting it. Like the need for cowbell, I feel the only way to describe my need for Dogma burgers is "more". The mint lemonade is also worth mentioning, as they have laced it with small quantities of opium. Dogma has never let me down. My favorites are the Tropicale especially for the pineapple and potato chips which are seriously perfect together, and the Sedona. Whats also great is if you're in the no meat day you can substitute your beef frank for a soy veggie dog. Dear Dogma, yesterday was a very sad sad day for you.... I am a huge dogma fan. I make trips there often.. usually getting the tropical and a pitchfork. I even went a few days ago to cure a horrible hangover, craving a burger, and it was perfect.. (small, but... inexpensive.).. After yesterday it's very hard to post anything positive as much as I'm a fan...You will always hold a very special place in my heart, however yesterday, was such a disappointment.. MTV's boiling points... I was really waiting for someone to come jumping out and give me my $100 for putting up with everything for so long.. Where to begin.... Dogmas pretty much considered a "fast food".. .I thought it'd be pretty hard to fk up a hot dog experience My husband and I approach the counter... and the rude woman in the window does not acknowledge, and starts calling out names for to go orders... opening every box confirming the items, offering extra condiments.. at least shes doing that right.. well, when she gets to about the 5th to go order, as I'm still standing in front of her waiting to place my order (ten minutes at least now.) I think she could sense my frustration, she says I'll be with you in just a minute.. but finished that order, turns around, waits for the cooks for finish cooking some things...then grabs it after they place it into a box and she starts asking for other customers..and continues ignoring us... just wanting to place my order, tempted to leave but super hungry my husband and I wait.. thinking.. any minute now... not so much... After finally placing my order and grabbing a seat, the woman gets my attention to let me know they're out of onion rings, fine no biggie, I asked for a caesar salad instead.. Time passes... and she comes back to get my attention again.. "Ma'am? The cooks put tomatoes on your salad by mistake, they can pick them off, or, do you like tomatoes?" I said no thank you to the tomatoes and then realized she just said, pick them off?? Gross. Just what I want to think about, someone going through picking every little diced tomato off my food.. More time passes, and now I'm believing more than ever that this is a joke. We watched people come and wait, get their food and leave... many many people... finally she calls my name, I get up to grab my order, and its all wrapped to go.. as she's handing it to me, she says, oh wait this was for here.. about to walk away with my food.. I stopped her assuring her it was fine, starving about to eat my tongue, determined not to sit and wait any longer. Now, for those fellow dogma lovers you know that dogma to go isnt the best experience.. at all.. The hotdogs were smooshed, soggy, and melted stuck to the wrapping. The salad?? Well, I'm assuming they tried to cover any area of red juice from the tomatoes they had just picked off because they COVERED it in dressing.. It looked disgusting, and tasted even worse. but, serves me right for ordering a salad at a hot dog place. All in all... the woman at the front with the deliberate ignoring, attitude, it put a bad taste in my mouth so any imperfection after that was sure to be noticed,, she ruined my experience, nothing even tastes good when you're so upset upon entering.. now whenever I go back which wont be a while... if I see her, I'll probably just turn around and leave. read more

The hot dogs and food are delicious!!! I enjoy sitting outside with my family enjoying our food right before we head to the park. I don't have anything against dogs or any kind of pets, but I just couldn't enjoy my food at a place where pet owners are bringing their dogs big and small. One of the guys there even had his small dog sitting in the chairs where the customers sit. The food was good enough to not completely get turned off from eating my food. Wasn't expecting this, being that it was my second time here. The first I couldn't remember it being any dogs there. I know it's called "dogma" grill but I didn't think it was a hint for customers to bring their dogs with them to eat. If you're the kind of person to not mix animals and food in one setting, please take your food to go!! read more

The hot dogs are small, the fries very good and the service fast. There is outside seating only. It's pricer than a Costco dog but it you need your hot dog and fries quick fix, this is the place. There is plenty of parking and you see all makes and models in the lot, from Mercedes to Kia. read more

We went as a group and ordered a few different things, so we could all try everything. I ordered the Pitchfork dog - BBQ sauce, melted bacon onions, cheddar cheese. I do have to admit, I don't need bacon on my hot dog, but other than that it was really good. My favorite was the El Macho dog - spicy sour creme, spicy brown mustard, melted cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes & grilled onions, topped with jalapenos. I would definitely go back for this one! Someone else had the NYC dog - spicy brown mustard, kraut, grilled onions, which was pretty typical NYC dog, so he loved it being from New York. Someone else had the Pitchfork burger- BBQ sauce, onions, cheese, & bacon. You can't go wrong with the burger. We ordered some fries also, the regular ones and the garlic fries - whoa! They were not kidding with the amount of garlic on those fries! I couldn't eat them, and I feel like I am a garlic fan. Next time I would go for the plain fries, but all in all it was a great hot dog stand. read more

Dogma Grill is awesome. I love coming here for lunch! The pulled pork BBQ sandwich is huge and delicious! And the dogma potato chips are the best. This is the perfect place to stop by for a burger, hot dog, or sandwich for lunch and be able to eat it out doors! read more

Not worth it, go down the street to FiveGuys for burgers. I got a cheeseburger, which was greasy, small, and not very good. Garlic fries were cold, soft, and just had a few spoonfuls of raw, oily minced garlic spooned out of a jar. These and a soda for 10 bucks. Went one other time for a hot dog, same experience, plus a long wait for something as simple as a hot dog. Avoid this place until it improves. read more

Nevertheless, the food is still mediocre, the service is terrible, and the place still looks run down. i recently moved to miami from Chicago. many advertise Chicago style hot dog but few get it. Dogma is clueless. first of all, Chicago style hot dog means, vienna beef company franks, s.rosen par-baked buns (poppy seeds optional) and not even Wrigley Field charges 10 bucks for a hot dog meal. i ate at Dogma back in september of last year and then a couple of weeks ago. first time the hot dog was $4.15 (no fries and hot peppers are considered extra charge). now the price went up $.35 cents. the food was cold and my hot dog was grilled (are we in canada or what?) anyone from Chicago knows you steam the bun and the hot dog. i won't go back. read more

Stopped by and grabbed lunch to go. It was my first visit. I ordered the Chicago dog and onion rings and both were delicious! Dogma boasts a great grill menu with something for everyone. They also have an eclectic selection of drinks available, including beer. Great place! read more

This is a retro throwback of the 50's ! Only thing missing is servers on roller skates ! Fits into the Mimo style of the neighborhood! It's a great place for really good dogs burgers , brats and ALL American grill food ! Can't beat the prices either ! Try it ! read more

Okay, maybe this review is tinted by the fact that my husband is the hot dog connoisseur and I'm just the tag-along. I thought it was a totally fun environment, location, and loved all of the different types of hotdogs. The only one complaint is that they didn't have much in the way of special sauces. In general, I don't like a dry dog, and they didn't seem to have much in the way of sauces. If they could just add that one thing, I would definitely give them 1 or more additional stars. I'm disappointed that it took me such a long time to try this place out when I used to live right on Biscayne Blvd. Their website doesn't mention having veggie dogs and I never thought to call! With that being said, the pitchfork (no bacon) with a veggie dog was absolutely delicious. The bun was steamed to perfection and they used the jumbo sized veggie dog! I always hate it when you're overwhelmed with bread. I would come back for these alone. I was extremely underwhelmed by the garlic fries. It smelled delicious but the flavor just wasn't there. I also found the coleslaw to be inedible which I was disappointing from a hot dog joint but the dogs are enough to come back for. read more

Hi. Went to dogma on my only day off in several months. Placed my order and repeated my order to the cashier girl twice. She said she got my whole order when in fact she didnt. Wasted my time and with an attitude said "do you want to still order it". Already wasted enough time waiting. But the attitude is what took the cake. read more
