My husband picked up hotdogs and fries today for our lunch. We had seen the great 5 star reviews and decided to finally try them. The hotdogs were a very good quality. Overall they were pretty good. However the fries we got were terrible. Not edible. They looked and tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a while. They were half raw, limp and extremely greasy. The container was soaked in grease also. We threw them away. Very disappointing. I hate throwing away food which is also throwing away money unfortunately. I feel that I'm very much a Hot Dog Connoisseur, no matter where we travel and we see a Hot Dog Shop and/or a cart, I need to stop in and grab a few dogs. Our daughter-in-law recommended that if time permits that I must try Dogslingers. The location is very easy to find. It's on a corner building at the red light and you can park in the back and there's an entrance in the back very easy to find on the main road. When we walked in, we went up to the counter and we were cheerfully greeted, and we took a look at the menu and they have so many options to choose from especially the hot dog options incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a very nice seating area. Everything was spotless. It was really neatly decorated and very comfortable to sit down and enjoy your hotdog or sandwiches or whatever the case may be that you ordered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They use a really nice hotdog. I believe it is a Vienna all beef, hot dog split down the middle and full of incredible flavor. So I decided to go with two standard hotdog, one with chili cheese and onion, and the other with mustard, onion and sauerkraut and I opted for the french fries and the soft drink. What is impressive? Is they take the time to slightly toast the split top hotdog bun, which is really good when you have the hotdog and the toppings in there you have a very slight toasted outside in a very soft inside of that bun which really makes it a nice hotdog And they put the right amount of toppings on the hotdog, not too much and not too less bit just on the money. The fries or a shoestring fry, which were really really good and the food came out fairly quick in a nice neat basket very well presented, and hot, which is really nice to have . I believe we got a chance to meet the owner. He came out and was walking around with a sample of a sausage that they're going to sell that he smokes and let me tell you if I live down here. I would be there trying that sausage when they added it to their menu, it is off the wall. I'm impressed you're not gonna find a better hotdog shop in the area in the prices are really nice and it's great to take a family too. There's plenty of seating and they also have a hot dog flight. You get to try a couple different hot dogs at the same time which is really cool. The staff are incredibly friendly, good old, southern hospitality and extremely attentive . Without a doubt, I would highly recommend stopping in here. They sell a whole house, a different types of sandwiches and salads. You'll find something that you like on their menu for sure and I noticed one thing they sell. I believe it is a pork tenderloin sandwich, which was huge And a couple people came in after us ordered that and it looked really, really good. While visiting North Carolina, our daughter-in-law told us about this place called Dog Slingers! My husband had to find this place because he absolutely loves hotdogs!!! we went around back to park and entered the small and very quaint restaurant, everyone was so nice, the service was amazing. My husband absolutely loved his hotdog and the fries that they served with it and we will definitely be back again when we visit North Carolina. As you can see, by the menu, I posted, there are plenty of hotdog and sausages to choose from, but they also have other sandwiches, soups and salads, something for everyone. WoW! I had never had Dogslingers, and that was my mistake. Today on the day of The Bear season three dropping, I finally stopped by to grab some dogs. Husband and I went in with huge expectations. We also purchased approximately three meals worth of food. I had a conversation with the owner about the various ways to order an italian beef. I decided to get my au jus on the side, my giardiniera mild, and added cheese. This made for a meaty melty delicious flavor combo. Everything is just right. I also had a Chicago dog. This isnt like something I've ever had before and I was super into it! Also ordered was an angry dog, this was done well and I like that the dogs are cut down the center...creating a valley for the toppings.
