I've always liked this restaurant and made it a point to eat here at least once during visits. Now that I'm back, I'm glad there's a nice new one close to where I'm living. When I went in it was CLEAN and well-lit and didn't look like some scary old refurb Burger Freez or anything. I know it's a new building and all so that helps but man, the one on Raeford Rd is pretty skeezy looking. The booths in the Hope Mills Rd location don't wobble around like they're on a hill. The cashier was super nice and helpful (he really wanted me to get 2 chili dogs for 99 cents instead of one for $1.20, and I appreciate that). If the onion rings are fresh they're awesome. The chili dogs rock. The thing that I go for, though is the FRIED PIES. Yes, FRIED. They haven't sold out and started selling some random "baked" crap they pull out of a microwave and then stick a "hot!: sticker on. It's FRIED, just like fast food pies should be. It's not definitely a fancy place. Atmosphere is typical fast food. It's a good place to grab a quick bite. My beef hot dog was very good as was their chili topping. Onion rings were made with real rings of onion...not the chopped up onions that you normally find in fast food. They were piping hot & crispy. Service was helpful & friendly. The worst place i've ever been. The staff are all either minors or old miserable people. The inside is dirty. No joy from anyone working. It feels so uncomfortable being inside. I usually eat here everytime I come to Fayetteville, and I stay literally 45 seconds away from the hope mills location. A lot of times they get my food wrong and I dialog just drive back up and ask them to fix it but today it was different. I pulled up to the window to order Paid Received my food and left Once I got home my order was not what I wanted so I drove back up and ask them to remake my entire order. Husband wanted a hotdog so we figured going to a place that specializes in hotdogs & it would be a good experience for him. I tried the fish sandwich, fries, and his chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets were the best thing there. They had good flavor. The tea was not sweet. The fries were dry, the fish sandwich was bland, but the tartar sauce wasn't bad. The price of that should've been like $5. A Mac Donald's fish sandwich & fries would've tasted better. & the customer service wasn't good. No one spoke, not even when we went up to be served. Just tried going through the drive-through, sounded like they had a 10-year-old taking orders who just kept saying "what" all disrespectfully. Horrible service. Done with this location. The one Raeford horrible waited 39 mins for food that was never made got fed up asked a refund and was told only the Mgr could refunds and it takes a week. Haven't been to a Weiner Works in over 30 years, stopped by this one to see if the footlong coney deluxe dog was all I remembered it to be. Picked up the dog and an apple pie and headed back to the hotel. The dog was absolutely awesome... the chili and slaw was exactly as I remembered them. They used to have fried fruit pies back in the day, so a Sara Lee-packaged apple pie caught me off guard. It was good, but I was wishing for those fried cherry pies of yesteryear. My last 3 visits to the wiener works on HOPE MILLS RD have been puzzling at the least. Looks like they have hired several teenagers that don't know basic math. My first encounter was approx. 3 weeks ago, which my bill was $5.40 and I gave the young lady $6.00. She gave me a receipt and 6 cents. I told her I gave her $6.00. She goes back and come back to tell me that 6 cents was my change and I refused to take it so she told the lady wearing the headset who rang up the bill and gave me the $0.60, also stating that the young lady was learning how to use a calculator. Next visit was approx. a week ago and this time another girl told me my bill was $7.33 and I gave her $20.33. She come back with the receipt and I ask her where was my change so she turn around to the register to bring me "change" back when I told her that I gave her $20.33 for a $7.33 bill. I told her that she owed me $13.00. She told the lady wearing the headset (different one) and brought me $13.00. What are they teaching children in school these days and why are they hiring people who don't know basic math? My last visit was 07/04/2021 afternoon when I asked for the $5.00 special, which I ordered the foot long wiener and chili burger with chili, slaw and extra onions on both. When I got home and pull out my food, I found that the footling had chili and slaw without onions and the chili burger was the bun with only chili and slaw, no burger. When I'm craving fat and salt this is where I go. The hotdogs are A-1, steamed bun and all, any way you want 'em. The help is a bit confused at times but friendly and finally managed to get me my complicated order, a foot-long with mustard, ketchup, onions and kraut and it was mighty tasty.
