Do you have kids? Do you need an indoor activity to…read moreentertain them? Do you like to paint ceramics? If you've answered yes to these questions, this may be the place for you. I found Paint for Me the way I find a lot of gulf coast businesses; I was randomly driving around and saw the sign when I was searching for coffee. The kids were bored (aren't they always), and I needed to occupy them before I lost what little sanity I have left. The way it works is pretty simple. You select an item to paint form their ample selection. Prices are visible and there are pieces to fit every budget. The owner then helps pick the paints, explain the process, and you're off. Once your piece is done, the owner sprays it with some sort of sealer and you take your piece home. It's super easy, and very reasonable. Here are a few tips I learned that may be of use to you: 1. Pick one item per kid. Your kids will want to paint everything. Limiting mine to one piece kept me from spending a fortune and from spending all day here. 2. Pick an item for you. It will be fun and help pass the time. Even if you paint like a person with no arms (see attached snowman photo), it's still enjoyable. 3. If you're facing the strip where this business is located, park on the right side. There is a fence on the left side and you can't enter from there. 4. Don't put a bunch of paint in your paint holder thing. It really doesn't take a lot of paint. 5. I think they do birthday parties. 6. The end

Owner was super sweet! Pretty good selection and the place was super clean. Made great memories…read morethat day with my daughter and will for sure go back!

If you are looking for a review from someone who knows about home decor, decorating, or any of that…read moretype stuff; I strongly suggest you stop reading now. Under normal circumstances a trip to a store like this would involve me finding the plastic flowers, stabbing myself in the eyes, and then smashing vases over my head until I was put out of my misery. This trip was a little different. Interested in how? Keep reading slacker. So my oldest child decided that she wanted to paint something for her room. She told me she needed a canvas, paint, and some sort of other stuff that sounded like a foreign language. She said there was a Michael's in Gulfport and that if I loved her, I would take her. I briefly plotted sending her to a boarding school as punishment for such an outrageous request, but I relented. Michael's is located in a massive strip mall complex north of I-10. That complex sees some heavy traffic so don't expect easy parking, easy navigating, or a quick exit back to the real world. Inside the store there were every type of craft and home decor item ever invented. My pulse quickened, my head began to throb, and the plastic flowers were calling to me. Then I noticed some antique type fishing floats. Then I noticed some beachy decor. Then I was like: WTF John? Are you actually finding things that don't cause your brain to explode? I couldn't understand what I was feeling so we quickly grabbed the canvas and other stuff so I could get out. I knew if I stuck around I might devolve into some Feng Shui spewing knick knack paddywhack decorating aficionado. There was no way I was letting that happen. Then boom, I saw the photo section. In the photo section I discovered everything from custom framing to gallery quality mats for displaying my photos. Not only did they have that stuff, but the prices were very reasonable. I didn't buy any since I don't have any gallery shows booked, but it is good to know that I can score this stuff locally instead of going through my printer. The check out experience quickly snapped me back to reality. It was super slow and waiting in line with folks overjoyed over sconces reminded me why this will never be a place I frequent. But at least I made a bad situation better by finding stuff that interested me. See, I told you that you should've stopped reading way back at the beginning. But if you did make it this far, thanks!
