I feel very validated and in seeing that others have had the same unfortunate experience that I have had with Dogwood pediatric dentistry. My 13-year-old daughter has been a patient since she was two years old and I cannot believe the way things have been handled with their office over the past two or three years. I'm not sure if there's been a change in management behind the scenes, but there has been a total breakdown in communication over the past few years. Several years ago I had an issue with a miscommunication on their end about an appointment that my daughter had. With her most recent appointment we had a change of insurance. Dogwood called me two days prior to confirm the appointment. At that time, I provided them with our new insurance information and was told that they would check to confirm that her specific plan was accepted and would let me know 24 hours beforehand if it was not. Well, lo and behold today, I get a phone call informing me that her insurance plan was in fact not covering her previous visit. When IWell, low and behold today, I get a phone call, informing me that her insurance plan was in fact not covering her previous visit. When I informed the person that I spoke with on the phone of the fact that I was told that this wouldn't happen because I would get a phone call from them. She had the nerve to tell me that that was just a courtesy. In hindsight, I should have called and confirmed with our insurance, but Dogwood should've held up their end of what was communicated to me. Apparently this is an ongoing issue for them after reading through these reviews. So past issues like mine were not learning situations for dog with. They continue to tell their patients that they will check their insurance so they don't receive hefty bills and then they continue to let their patients get hefty bills. If dogwood doesn't want to accept any responsibility for this, then they shouldn't be telling their patients that they will check their insurance and call them 24 hours prior. I am so disappointed in receiving that bill and that phone call. Dogwood will not see a single scent from us for this bill. I would've stayed with Dogwood for the rest of my daughter's childhood if it was not for this incident. I absolutely love the dentist and dental hygienist, but they have lost their minds with that front staff. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 10 I got there early and still had to wait 35 minutes. Not to mention the LACK of seating in the waiting room. Kids were sitting on the floor and others had to stand. They took children to the back and gave them sedation medicine then sending them back out until the medication started making the kids fall asleep and being carried back. Closes early at their convenience if they don't have appointments prior to yours and you can't move yours up. Granted I was 11 minutes late, but I tried to call and let them know. They couldn't be bothered to answer the phone though. So I continued to make my way through town in holiday traffic to do my best to make the appointment. The flat out lied, put full caps on healthy teeth. Told me they were just going to do gas as like to anesthetize the child and did fully anesthesia like you're getting surgery. I will never bring my children there again I will go out of state I will drive hundreds of miles to find someone who has a moral obligation to take care of children before I go to this terrible place read more

Horrible communication. Doctor Kristi was awesome for my sons procedure, however the scheduling people are terrible. They move appointments around without calling or telling you and talk back to you on the phone. I worked in a doctors office for 10 years and would ask do you know who it was that left their name on moving their appointments, because all offices with leave a name under a reschedule or a scheduled Aly in the system... and she would say I don't know and was very rude. Just very unorganized front staffing, and inconvenient when you have to get work off for their appointments. We won't be going back. read more

I've heard so many good things about this place, so upon taking my child here, I assumed we would be in good hands. Worst experience of my life when it comes to my child's dentist. I brought my son here August of 2023 to only be told he would need to be taken into the ER to do any dental work or check up, which I was 100% comfortable as my son is severely autistic and at this time was in uncontrollable pain. Christie (may have spelled her name wrong) assured me that my son would be able to be treated Feb 2024 which is a long wait but I trusted her with his plan of care. After waiting months with my child suffering every night, we get a call from the hospital in Jan saying he's scheduled for surgery in a few days. I am absolutely confused, the office had changed my child's surgery date without informing me, and cancelled his already scheduled date without being able to get in touch with me. The schedule coordinator said she called me several times, never once leaving me a voicemail ( I am a working single mom) and can't answer my phone at work. No email, text, voicemail of any kind asking me to return a call to the office to inform me that they changed his surgery date without notice. So upon the hospital calling me I call the on call person at the office explaining what happened, she was unsympathetic and said she would ask the office to call me when they opened back up. I even asked if you can have the dentist call me so I can let her know how we were treated and how unprofessional my son was handled. She refused to call me and no one from the office even had the decency to call me back. After weeks of hearing nothing I decided to call back and speak with a office manager, I was given the run around and never once from the schedule coordinator after calling her out on how she dropped the ball, she wouldn't even apologize. I was on the phone hysterically crying and literally this office did not care. Once I eventually spoke with the real office manager, she was in fact the only help during this traumatic event. She spoke to me with care and concern, she took responsibility for the offices mistake and also got us in with another dentist ( passed off to someone we had never met) but my son was in so much pain I was willing to go wherever to get some help. She even had the dentist send over antibiotics for my son, but this was after weeks of no call backs, unprofessional staff members. Just a complete parent knight mare. I never thought I would have to face all of these challenges over just trying to get my disabled son some help and relief. Can you imagine being in torture pain for months and someone not even care or try to help you in anyway basically I was told we will refer you somewhere else and let someone else deal with him since we're so unprofessional. I wasn't passed to an office manager or allowed to speak to the denist. I had to advocate myself and go above and beyond to keep making phone calls and demanding to speak with someone over this office. I will never return here, not because of the mistake that took place it's how we were mishandled. Poor communication and no patient care or humility. read more

The manager there was unprofessional I have videos .. the dentist are great with the children but the lies and fake policies about only two member being seen at the same time and if you are late with in the 10 minute grace . That your children cannot be seen together again.. That is a lie it does not state of nowhere in the rules or policies I have photos of it I asked for a copy and being that I asked for a copy that is when they sent my children cannot come back and be seen mind you I was not rude disrespectful ivory or in any type of way aggressive I spoke and kept myself well rounded and respectful at all times. read more
