All of their food is delicious. I have ordered everything they make over the years and have never had anything bad to say.

Love the local Bbq spot. Unfortunately, for me as this place has grown over the past 4-5 years it has not kept up it's consistency. I really love the flavors but the quality of the ribs has really went down hill. They are full of bones and not meaty. They used to be so good and delicious. I was very disappointed on my last 3 visits and thus have to lower my rating from 5 stars given 4 years ago to 3 stars. The price per portion has definitely changed; for $19.80, I got 3 tiny ribs full of bones, a quarter of a chicken and two sides. This used to cost $14-15 so price has went up and quality and quantity has went down. They still have some of the best tasting smoked chicken I have ever eaten. But for any pork items I will be going elsewhere from now on. You can thankfully still buy just half a smoked chicken for $6 and this is what I will getting going forward. read more

I live in Lexington NC the disputed Pork BBQ capital of the world. So I don't get a lot of beef when it comes to BBQ. I had the brisket here and it was hands down the best I have ever had. It is highly recommended with the brisket sauce. Now if any of you Texas folks want to dispute this place is the best I am willing to accept your trip out there to put it to the test. Holy Doko Smoke Batman!....this place is really good. We got a plate of chopped pork, and a plate of brisket. Both were excellent, but I think I liked the pork slightly better. (But it's very close!) Brisket was so tender, and fell apart with my plastic fork. The brisket sauce was my favorite sauce, but very spicy. Wife like the sweet sauce. We also had the mustard sauce, and it was good also. For our sides we had baked beans, which were our favorite. They were 5 star for sure. Mac-n-cheese was next on the list. (Covered in gooey cheese sauce) Hash-n-rice was good, with the slaw being our least favorite. Ribs were already sold out by the time we got there. read more

Stopped by on a Friday after a round at nearby Cobblestone. Thanks to YELP for the heads up that they were closing in 48 minutes. Arrived only to see a sign being hung that said said SOLD OUT. We were deciding on where to go next when the young lady came out and told us what they had available. Pulled pork & hash. We stayed and I am so glad we did. We were accommodated by Haley (spelling?). She really hooked us up and made us feel SO welcome! Even gave us extra banana pudding and packed it on ice for the remainder of our trip. Top notch service and even better food. Will definitely be back to hopefully try the ribs and brisket. I can only imagine they are phenomenal. Hash was some of the best I've ever had. Went here with our lunch group last Friday. There were five of us, and I'd told them how good the food was after I'd eaten here a week ago. They were out of brisket on my first visit, so I figured the brisket must be excellent. I ordered the two meat plate with two sides ($15). Selected brisket and ribs along with the green beans and baked beans as a side. The brisket was very good, tender. The ribs were excellent. I think I liked the pulled pork that I had last time a little better than the brisket, so I think I'll stick to the pulled pork next time. Both the bean dishes were great. One of the guys is a big BBQ lover and he went pretty nuts over the taste of the pulled pork and ribs. He said he had eaten at Scotts BBQ in Charleston and Hemingway, which was supposed to be the best in SC, and he thought Dokos pulled pork was better! Everyone enjoyed the food. They have about four different BBQ sauces, mustard based, a brisket sauce, and two others. They are all good. I've had the brisket sauce on both of my visits. One of the guys had the 1/2 chicken entree and thought the chicken was too dry. My wife had ordered that on our first visit and I thought it needed a bit more sauce, but the taste was good. Doko Smoke might just be the best little BBQ joint in the whole Columbia area. Pretty much everything on their menu is excellent and is done the right way. The customer service is very personable and they definitely appreciate your business and know you by name. My only complaints are the short business hours and the higher-than-average prices. But as the old saying goes, you tend to get get what you pay for, and with Doko, you're getting top-notch smoked BBQ pulled pork, beef brisket, and chicken, pork hash and all the sides. Maybe someday they will bring back those amazing collard greens. Get there early and get there often! read more

This review is for the catering side of Doko Smoke. Our company has an annual employee appreciation event, where I had the pleasure of trying their pulled pork and green beans and other sides two years in a row. I'm not a fan of any cole slaw or beans in general, so I can't review those. The pulled pork, however, was super tender, moist, and nicely smoked. There were a few sauce options (sweet red, spicy vinegar, and a mustard-based). The sweet red had a nice tang, and I thought the spicy vinegar would be flaming hot with all the red peppers I saw come out the bottle, but it surprisingly had just the right bite. I didn't care for the mustard. The green beans were made with pork and also had a nice kick. I look forward to our appreciation event every year just for Doko's pulled pork and green beans, and I hope we get them to cater again next year! read more

True story: My buddy and I were headed from his cousin's place in NC back to Atlanta and, about noon, we got HUNGRY. And nothing was to be found off of the freeway - just nothing. Tiny town after tiny town we passed and it was just chains, chains and more chains. Finally, seeing that we were low on gas, we decided to pull off, fill up and have some awful "gas-station fried chicken" - neither of us were pleased since we're booth foodies - but what choice did we have? So off the freeway I pull, about to turn into the gas station when I see a TINY sign saying "Town Center" with a little arrow. I propose that we go check it out and he agreed. The town of Blythwood isn't much. At least that WE saw - but we did see a gas station, pulled over to fill... and we smelled it. The clear an obvious scent of burning hickory and meat. I looked left and right and saw *right next door* a place that looked more like a shack than a business - a small building that just said "Doku Smoke". We agreed that this HAD to beat gas-station chicken, so we parked the car and walked in. Counter and tiny dull dining area - EXACTLY what ever good BBQ place I've ever enjoyed has looked like... One fellow sat at a table, gobbling a heap of pulled work and sides... and it smelled heavenly. We were hungry, so I don't want to overstate the case... but we ordered from the intensely friendly woman (wife of the pitmaster/owner, as it happens) and sat. The food came and OH MY. Best pulled pork I've ever had - juicy with excellent bark; Sides were excellent, and the "Carolina Hash" (something I've never had before) was excellent. I guess our pleasure was so obvious that the couple came over and chatted with us, offering us tastes of other dishes - it was simply great. Everything about the place was great.
