We ordered his BBQ tacos (3 tacos for $8.00), and everything tasted amazing. My spouse had his tacos with the coleslaw on top of his polled chicken, while I chose to have my tacos minus the coleslaw. I stopped on a whim after visiting blue flour. The entire area looks poorly kept and the inside of this building is particularly in rough shape. I didn't want to judge the food by the building front so I ordered some of the chicken bbq and a brisket plate. The meat was good. I ordered it without sauce so I could try it that way first. The brisket was tender and well cooked. Once I added sauce everything was a little more enhanced. The sides were a different story. While the meat was good, the sides were not. I went with the mac and cheese and potato salad. Both were quit bland. Typically your bbq places have great mac and cheese and the sides match the meats. These missed the mark. Overall I'd give it another chance to see if there was a change. I'd also be willing to just order the meat by the pound for catering. Not sure how on board I am with ordering plates of food though. read more

The owner is a super nice guy. I feel bad, but man you have to do better with the quality of food, and the prices your charging. I got a rib and brisket platter. Man the meat was like old, dry, had a funny after taste. Baked beans were like out of a can. Mac and cheese was just noodles and cheese no flavor. Listen what I recommend, go to some other bbq establishments. Rain road bbq is one that I know of. The owner should just go there try diff places out and adjust. I literally threw the whole plate away. I hope to see this place turn around and do better for sure. read more

Disappointing, I feel bad because the guy was nice and it looked like a struggling small business so I REALLY wanted to like the food. But it was honestly awful. The chicken tacos tasted like beef jerky, I don't even know how you manage that. And the baked beans tasted like vegetable soup. I am so serious if I was blindfolded I would be 100% convinced that's what I was eating. Sweet tea was great though. Delicious food! Super friendly owner and helpful with my dairy allergy. Place is super small and hard to find but worth the trip. Mostly take out, some outdoor seating. I highly recommend the hash and rice, baked beans are more savory than sweet but so good, and the tangy sauce! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was real deal Delicious with so many flavor levels. read more

We ate Cox tonight and it was good. I got Ribs with potato salad and b beans. Husband got pork bbq plate with mac&cheese and coleslaw. We both ate off each other's plates. So yummy. As a huge BBQ fan, I was really looking forward to ordering from here since I saw they also have hash (having lived in the upstate for the last 17 years where they don't know what this is). I've traveled all over just for the different flavors and BBQ. Let me just say this is by far the worst BBQ I've ever had in my life. The "smoke smell" was completely overwhelming...almost like they drowned it in liquid smoke. The meat was extremely dry and all I could taste is the overwhelming smoky burned taste of what may be pork. Now on to the hash...I've seen beef stew in a can that is better than this stuff! We ordered family size meal and two containers of hash and we threw it all away eating only a couple bites. The sauce was a can of tomato paste and chili sauce basically with no flavor. Even the banana pudding was pitiful. I think In the entire container there was only two cookies in the pudding and no actual bananas. How this place is still in business I truly have no idea. If you have tastebuds and love BBQ I urge you to not waste your time nor you money. If I could post negative stars I would. I don't like to post such negative reviews but I truly find this to be the worst BBQ experience ever. read more

I should have gotten the hint from the outside of the establishment but I gave it a chance. I ordered the $15 Briskett plate meal with potato salad and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was super runny basically just wet pasta and I have never in my life ordered briskett and walked away with an entire plate of FAT! There may have been 2 "small" pieces of meat in there at best!! the potato salad was the best thing they had going for them but other than that what a dam disappointmen! I should've returned my plate but I was already back at work when I had realized what the guy gave me! Take better care of your customers!! My wife picked up pulled pork from here. It was extremely tender, melt in your mouth pork. A little smoky tasting but otherwise very good.
