The Great Canadian Gift Company has a online catalog where customers can make purchases as I am able to attain my favorite Canadian maple cookies brought into the U.S. The Canadian maple is worldwide renowned and opening the box the aroma of maple is fragrant. The cookies are fresh. In the past I was able to purchase these same maple cookies at Cross Border U.S. - Canada shopping by vehicle Duty Free many years ago which I greatly missed. Since I am unable to return to The Great White North I can now bring something from Canada into the U.S. Purchasing direct from manufacturer is always great without any hurdles. The maple cookies are very tasty. I had no problems with shipping from Canada into U.S. N.B. The charge will be in Canadian dollars onto my credit/debit card but my bank converts into American dollars.

Warning - this is definitely not the Kings Cross store visitors to Dundas may remember. Although…read morethe location on King Street has changed, the store is still called Kings Cross and a sign on the door says only that British foods and confectionaries are no longer sold. Looking in the door we could see clothing with logos of England, Wales etc., but the store was closed, so we returned on the next day it was open. But when we went in to purchase some of that clothing (for a Father's Day gift), we got an earful from the owner about how we must not be very regular customers, since the store hadn't sold such goods for three years and had to stop selling retail because customers have no loyalty. An odd thing to say to customers who took the time to find the store at its new location and travelled from out of town (twice!) to make a purchase as soon as in-person shopping was allowed. And, of course, recent visits haven't really been possible or prudent since retail stores have been for the most part closed and/or in-person shopping discouraged for nearly a year and a half now. It seems the store is now selling only wholesale which, given the owner's opinion of retail customers, is likely best for all concerned. If the owner doesn't want to be bothered by customers looking for the "old" Kings Cross, a change of name, or posting a sign letting everyone know that the retail store no longer exists (rather than just one saying that British food is no longer sold at the store) would probably help.

It's a smaller shop, but everything is kept really organized and neat (it's even got "themed" areas, so things are placed similarly for whatever your taste). The prices are higher than other gift-type shops, but the products are so unique and well-made, it's worth the extra few dollars.
