"Bar Vita" must be my favourite restaurant in town - always delicious food with filling portions. Top notch service. We have always loved the Live music when we have gone! Easy enough to park on the street in the evenings. read more

This place is now called "Bar Vita" We arrived about 20 minutes earlier then our reservation and were offered a place at the bar to wait for the people before us to leave as we figured would happen since we were early. They had live music playing and although they were actually quite good they were very loud and it made even trying to take our order difficult between that and masks muffling what she was saying. There was a birthday event at the tables next to us and of course since the music was loud they were all shout talking and that just added to the annoyance at the sound level here. Maybe it's not normally like that and we just got the perfect storm to not really be able to have a conversation at our own table. My buddy ordered the lobster ravioli, they were out. His second choice was the spaghetti and meatballs, out of meatballs. She said they were out of something else as well so we both ended up having the veal parmigiana. Generous sized portion and the food was quite good at least but it's also something that I can make at home to the same level. We didn't have enough variety to really weigh in on this. The service was friendly and attentive. We might try it again at some point but with so many places to choose from in town it'll be a while. read more

Clearly, I was mistaken. I assumed that a small town like Peterborough would only have a handful of restaurants and they'd all sell variations of the same uninspiring menu. Well, I was wrong. My wife and I ordered the wild game platter at Dolce Vita and were blown away. It came piled high with lamb, wild boar, bison and pheasant. Absolutely delicious and far more than the two of us could eat. Hands down, the best meal I've had all year. read more

Had Oysters, their Spaghetti Chicken Rose w/Chianti & Tiramisu and I got to say... It was amazing. Oysters were fresh. Rose was great & not over powering like it's supposed to be, chicken was moist and cooked well. Chianti came from a small vineyard in Italy & their Risotto was great! Our server James was knowledgable of his menu on top of having an awesome name. Going back for sure. read more
