All I can say is go to Blair! I'm not from the area but was visiting and looking to go from my dark brown brunette with some dyed lighter pieces to a fully lighter color with some blonde. She was prompt to respond, booked me in right away and asked for a current pic then an inspiration photo to be text to her ahead of time so she knew what I was thinking. Blair was awesome, I already want to go back and go even lighter. My hair isn't dried out and the colors are definitely what I wanted. As a woman of color, I'm very hesitant to get my hair done by someone new but I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully they did my hair. I had the BEST experience at Dolce Vita Salon!! Tia is so talented. I started off with blonde with some green tones underneath from me dying my hair from home. She did some lowlights which added beautiful dimension -which is just what I wanted. I went to look under to see the green tones when I got home & you can't even see them anymore!!! Okay, this is gonna be a little long but completely worth it. When I first moved here from L.A. I was exceedingly skeptical about the standard my hair would receive in general moving to the south. But then I found Dulce Vita and OMG I was so impressed! The first girl I went to ended up moving so I tried to go to another salon and they completely f***ed up my hair. Royally. Like apparently the before photos were talked about at DV for like a week when they saw what the other salon had done anyway, I contacted DV again to see if anyone could colour correct what the last salon had done and they assigned me Kasi (like KC and the sunshine band). This woman is a literal angel, artist and scholar. She got my hair to go back to what it looked like when I first moved here! Completely worth all the hassle to have my hair look this good again! I booked an appointment with Kristin and she was amazing! I went in with really long, damaged hair and left the cut and styling up to her. She was great finding the right cut for my hair! I also was very pleased that she maintained COVID protocols by keeping her mask on, and had a very clean space to work in. So this is going to be a difficult review. My stylist (Meagan) spent an hour on a dudes haircut, SHE REALLY tried. She's pleasant and a nice person. Unfortunately, it was just a bad experience. She struggled with my fade, texturing the top, and didn't give a good haircut. Additionally her attempt to trim my eye brows was mediocre at best. I attempted to speak with a manager but was told everyone is a general contractor as such the implication is it doesn't really matter. I had hoped to just find a new stylist here, but the lack of ownership/accountability is a turnoff. So I won't be back. With that in mind I wish Meagan the very best, but I'm obligated to forewarn guys...if you want a great cut, you won't get it. read more

To start this salon is always extremely clean, and in the salon all of the cosmetologist are always extremely professional! Blair has done my hair several times and I always love it! She actively listens to what I am saying about my hair, makes suggestions, and always makes sure we are on the same page before she even touches my hair. I completely trust Blair with my hair. I have curly hair, so I have a hard time finding a stylist who knows how to cut my hair. I booked an appointment with Kayla after being referred to her by a friend, who also has curly hair. Kayla is phenomenal--she didn't cut my hair too short, but she added layers and gave me a great style. I can honestly say that Kayla is the best stylist I've had! The salon is really nice--there is a common wash area, but the stylists have their own rooms, which makes the appointment feel very personal. The prices are very reasonable, also. As long as I'm in NC, I will continue to frequent Dolce Vita Salon, and I cannot recommend it, or Kayla, enough! read more

I had to come in twice to get my hair the way I wanted. The first time was too dark and not what I asked and showed pics for. Upon leaving the second time I noticed a bleached line on my hair. I sent pics to Blair and went straight back up there. She said to come back at 3 and that she was sorry. At 3 she came out and said 30 minutes. An hour later she said it would be longer. I had already explained I had a sick child at home but she did not care. $335 dollars later I have a bleached spot to show for it. I am beyond upset. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and gave me wine and asked others to fix it for me, though nobody had time. Dolce Vita was highly recommended to me and I was excited about trying a new stylist. I decided to stop in and look the salon over before making an appointment. When I walked in I heard a man talking real loud about how he wasn't doing some old lady's hair anymore. I mean, he was basically yelling at her. He proceeded to talk real ugly about her to anyone and everyone. I saw the lady leave and she looked real upset. I couldn't believe how he was acting. I just turned around and walked out. Blair is truly a master of her craft. When wanting to change my hair from a vivid red to gray, she was the only stylist I spoke with who offered to do a strand test to see if it was even possible. She is obviously very knowledgeable and has the kindness and compassion one seeks in a sytlist. The salon itself is a warm and welcoming environment, but having Blair as my stylist is really the icing on the cake. She has always cut my curly hair perfectly (anyone with curls knows how daunting this can be...) and has fixed a bad hair cut when I did try a different salon once. I'm talking it was brown on top with red hints and teal green on the bottom and it was so damaged it was literally falling off in chunks... I saw Candice and she was nice enough to fit me in, in between clients. The whole experience was amazing they offered me something to drink and even found a phone charger for me because my phone was dying... Candice magically made my hair a beautiful red plum brown color did an amazing conditioning treatment and then cut and styled it afterwards... I now have this wonderful haircut and a wonderful color, my hair is no longer falling out in chunks and it actually didn't break the bank!! I have been coming to see my hairdresser John for 14 years now. When he came to Dolce Vita, I was very impressed with the salon. It is very clean and decorated in a Tuscan style. It has all the amenities you expect a hair salon to have but it is still cozy and welcoming. The desk clerk is always friendly and there's plenty of seating in the front if you bring someone who will be waiting for you. John has his own room with a great big window so you don't feel cooped up in a tiny space or cubicle and it's very easy to be relaxed. And if anyone else is getting a "treatment" that has a strong odor, the rooms have doors, so no one else is exposed as conversations are private! ;) And of course, John is amazing! Everywhere I go I get asked where I get my hair done - that is no exaggeration either. I wouldn't want to go to anyone else, anywhere else! read more

Beautiful Salon at Adam's Farm. I especially enjoy the easy feeling of all the employees. It is very upbeat and a happy atmosphere. I adore my stylist, Callie Simmons Franklin She does a great job and with her help and products my thinning hair is MUCH thicker. There was no pressure or big sales job but only after I asked did she lead me down the right path. This building houses several independent hair stylists. It's all local and you deal directly through the stylist. All I'm sure have had their extensive training and the person I go to is the fabulous Allison. I usually change up my hairstyle all the type with different styles and she always gets it on point. You can try different people until you find one that works with your style and hair. You get a cut/shape and shampoo if needed. For Asian hair like mine, it's hard to find barbers and stylists that can work with my hair. I got lucky I found this place. read more

I had appointment for color and highlights with Altia. I came to this salon because of shining reviews which I don't believe they are real! I had old highlights and asked for ash brown with highlights, the only ash color she had was a 6. I specifically said I want a toner to get rid of the orange shade. She said she's going to find the color, came back and said we will start the highlights, I asked if she's going to color first and highlight after, she said she will highlight first! After finishing the foils, she said you have to wait for 30 minuets and that's when I found she doesn't want to color my hair. I insisted to get my roots colored. After washing my hair I noticed obvious lines of highlight and uneven color. She insisted that it is ash and blamed my hair, and when I asked why didn't you highlight from the root she said because it was bleach!! BLEACH! I have highlighted my hair 10 times and every time they would ask me if I want to bleach! And I have never bleached my hair, so she did it for the first time and without asking me! And even using bleach and blond instead of ash, the color was uneven! To fix the line she put ash brown which made it worse, then she put bleach on part of it and covered the rest, but then I found the rest of my hair was uneven. I talked to the front dest and they said they're sorry! They said they are individual stylists and don't have a manager! And said they can't help, she will fix it! At the end she said she will fix my hair and won't charge me, I asked her to only wash the bleach, because she couldn't fix it anyways. She obviously didn't have the color and the toner and she was trying to deliver what I asked using bleach and minimal color. All in all, 4 hours of my time plus my hair were ruined and I need to find another salon to fix this mess. read more

I came to this salon for a consultation a couple of weeks ago with Anna. I showed her some picture of what I liked and made an appointment. I unfortunately had to reschedule due to work and she quickly worked with me to find a time that would work. I ended coming a week later and we discussed what we wanted to do and I love the results so much! She did a wonderful job and I've already made my next appointment for six weeks out. She took my prior hair treatments into consideration and it looks perfect! She didn't pressure me into a haircut like many other stylists in the past have done and she listened and was realistic with my hair journey (going lighter) which I know is a process if you want it to be healthy.
