Website said open until 8pm. It was my birthday and had forgotten my Balmain mousse in Charlotte . Arrived at 4:58pm, the door was locked. Someone came to the door and said, "we closed early." I told her all I needed was the Balmain mousse and she would not sell it to me. Not my idea of customer service and I spend equal time in Greensboro as I do in Charlotte. My regular hair professional has just relocated to another state and I would have become a regular client for Local Honey. DEFINITELY NOT NOW! read more

After being a loyal and happy customer for a year I am no longer a client. My business picked up suddenly and I had to cancel or missed 2 appointments. (So busy I don't know if I called). I rescheduled but the day before my appointment I was informed it was canceled and I could no longer use their services.? I have rescheduled quite a few times on their behalf over the past year and fully expected to pay for my missed visits. I reiterated that they should charge me for my missed appointments. Not sure what is going on but I am going to try to find someone else who does as an amazing job as I got there. Defiantly go use this business but make sure you have a backup plan. read more

Jessica is wonderful. The whole staff was great today because I came in with panic in my eyes. See, I sprained BOTH my ankles a bit ago, and it's made me forget a few things. Like the fact that I needed a haircut before a business trip. This salon saved me. And Jessica more than I could ask for. She is not the absolute best hair stylist I've ever had, but I've had hair cuts probably for about twice as long as she's been alive, and I've lived in LA and NY. Jessica is new to her profession. She carefully studied the photo I gave her. She diligently cut my hair to as close as she could get given my hair is so thin. I LOVE this cut. I will go back to her as often as I can. Multiple terrible experiences trying to book an appointment. They fail to book enough time and cancel without telling me beforehand.

Zero Stars. My interaction with the owner here was one of the most unprofessional and insulting experiences I have had in recent memory. He really did seem to take some pleasure in denying me service because HE made a mistake. I would recommend any other salon in Greensboro over this one. read more

I do not write reviews often but this was a highly dissapointing experience. I had Erin and what I asked for was not what I got. I came in wtih bleached ends and asked to have color added back to my hair. Now, my natural roots were big time showing and are an ashy brown very beautiful. I wanted my hair to be matched with my natural hair color so that I would never have to color my hair again. I came out with my hair dark brown with MAJOR red undertones. I was told by Erin that this would fade to more of my natural hair, but I am still seeing lots of red and I do not like being associated with having red hair. Not what I wanted. Then I purchased shampoo and conditioner upon her recommendation and it does nothing but dry my hair out and make my split ends 10 times worse. Not going to lie, I was a little nervous going into this place because it's pretty boujee! Parking is a little awkward. They're great with taking all of the precautions for COVID--Take your temperature and have you wash your hands and wait outside if you're early for your appointment. All of the girls that work at this place are so nice. I had Kristin for my appointment and she was extremely friendly and so gentle with how she worked with my hair. I had to have it completely color corrected and highlighted. I'd totally recommend her if you are new to this place, like I am. I used to go to places where they would be rough with your hair. Kristin was so gentle and careful with how she was handling my hair, I honestly almost fell asleep a few times, it was so relaxing. The shampoo they use smells AMAZING and makes your hair feel light and full of volume and moisturized. The owners dog is also trotting around the salon which I thought was cute. Very cute country chic vibe to this place! I would totally come back again! ****BRING CASH TO TIP YOUR PERSON! I never carry cash on me. They have an ATM that only accepts debit cards. They only accept cash tips to give your person. Sadly I had a credit card on me and wasn't able to tip the full amount I wanted to tip...I felt awful. read more

Stacey did a fabulous job on my hair. I think it's a cool spot but don't understand the decor inside. They have stuffed animals and taxidermy. Seems like a cowboy designed the interior. It's a salon not a hunting lodge, I digress. Anyway the salon follows strict cleanliness precautions due to the chinese virus. Checked my temperature and had to wear mask at all time's. My hair looks amazing and I am very grateful for the outstanding job Stacey did on my hair. read more

Incredible interior, well trained staff, excellent amenities, but garbage haircuts. It's so ironic how this place is decorated with countless 'Greensboro Best Hair Salon 20XX' awards but they can't even give me a solid classic men's haircut. I've been here once before and got my hair cut by Kayla, who's now gone, who gave me a below average haircut. Thought I'd give this place one more shot and I got set up with Brittney, who gave me an even worse haircut. I asked for a comb-over part with tapered sides and I got something barely resembling that. No taper at all on the sides. I asked for a little off the top and my stylist ended up cutting way more off than we agreed on. I just felt uncomfortable to ask her to stop. I can tell she was losing interest in cuttin my hair more than halfway through. Unfortunately I have to deal with a look that I hate seeing in the mirror for the next month. I'm giving 1 star because it's the haircut that matters most for me. I expect excellence for a $38 cut. Would be better off going to some Sports Clips. Don't get fooled by the marketing of this place. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! I would not recommend this salon to anyone I liked! This past Saturday I was a first time customer at Local Honey and am positive now I will never go back. This was my first time I've ever dyed my hair as a brunette and brought several photos showing blonde full highlights for the stylist. She assured me that she knew what I wanted and would choose the right blonde shade for me. After a full foil and a wash, my hair is blow dried and, to my horror, I see that all of my highlights are a shade of light grey. I am 23 years old and looked 55. I did not look like the same person at all which was confirmed by my friends who did not recognize me. I could not find one person who thought it looked good. 180 dollars for these highlights that were so awful I went to Target and dyed my hair back brown with box dye the same day. I was told in salon they don't offer refunds and reached out to the manager Kendall Weeks via email with photos to see what could be done. Days later and I have not received a response. This is very bad customer service and I regret ever coming to this establishment. read more

I have been a very loyal Local Honey customer since 2017 when I sent my groomsmen to get cuts for my wedding. I was very impressed with the skills of their stylists, and their attention to detail, as well as the atmosphere. I was equally impressed with their COVID precautions and their care for the health and well-being of their stylists and customers throughout this pandemic. However, it seems they have given up on their commitment to customers. I have been visiting religiously for every 3 weeks for almost two years (and every 4 weeks before that.) In the past two months, I have had receptionists fail to schedule my appointments as requested, resulting in a two week delay. After that delay, I received a phone call two days before my scheduled appointment informing me that my stylist was leaving and that they would be cancelling my appointment and I would have to find another stylist. I went through the trouble of finding a stylist that fit, booked them out through the remainder of 2021, and today when my appointment finally arrived, I received an email of all things (not a phone call) telling me that my appointment today is cancelled. I will be looking for a new salon that is capable of holding their appointments. read more

This is now my permanent salon while I live in Greensboro. I have gotten the best haircut in my life at this location from Kayla. The staff is well trained and very educated. Also super friendly. The building is super cute while tasteful decor and extremely clean. You can buy hair products and locally made honey. They have coffee and tea available while you wait. Another note this is a place where if you aren't completely satisfied with the service you received they will make it right. read more

I showed up desperate for a color correction, my hair was green looking with orange underneath after a dye job gone horribly wrong elsewhere. Marisa not only fixed my hair so that I could show my face in public, but developed a strategy to get me where I wanted to go with my color. Was looking for a new hair stylist, when I called reception was extremely helpful. Explained what I was looking for, and Was booked with Erin. She was wonderful! Have gone back several times. She is so meticulous when styling and giving advice about what I should use on my hair. I do not feel pushed, rushed, or like I am lucky I was able to even get an appointment. The salon is very clean and cozy. And I have never heard anyone say something negative about a client. The atmosphere is up beat and positive. Absolutely recommend!!! read more

I have never felt better about my hair. I recently started going to Local Honey and was absolutely blown away by this place. It is a beautiful blend of old-fashioned southern hospitality and chic style, with extremely genuine staff. I was welcomed by a soothing ambiance and friendly receptionist. Stacy was wonderful, super chill, personable, and sincere. I so enjoy our conversations and never feel like she is in a rush to finish my appointment. While I can not recall the other staff I met, I can say with sincerity they were all so welcoming and kind. I'm so incredibly happy with my color and look forward to going to Local Honey for a long time to come. Y'all got to check this place out! The salon is really neat and I can really dig the whole carefully curated concept of the place. From the local brews to the great selection of grooming products, this place is on the honey! (Hehe) I have been going to Jay for a couple years before he started local honey and unfortunately have not found anyone even close to as talented when it comes to cutting hair. I say unfortunately because the 40 min drive to Greensboro is not ideal to get my hair did, but I have come to the realization that it is totally worth it. After trying almost every salon in the WS area, I have come to the conclusion that sometimes beauty emits a larger carbon footprint. He has been the only stylist that I have gone to who really seems to understand my cray cray curly hair, which is why I will continue to make the 40 min hike to downtown Greensboro every 4 months. I am from Greensboro but have lived in NYC for the last eight years. I got a last-minute cut from Caitlin on a visit back home in September. She did a fantastic job and I could tell, even two months later, what a precise cut it was since my hair had grown out very nicely and still looked sharp. I've gone to a number of different salons in New York and only a very expensive few can compare to the quality of this cut. Caitlin even gave me styling advice and didn't rush me out of her chair once we were done. I highly recommend her and this salon. I wish I could go back often enough to only have her cut my hair, but I have to take my chances in New York. read more

Having just moved to this area from DC, I realized it might take trying several, if not many, different stylists to get one who will listen and actually have the skill and experience to do what I want done. Sadly, my stylist here missed the mark big time. I had a photo ready and the actual color formula from my prior stylist. But it did not matter, as she did her own thing and it had no relation to what I showed her and asked her to do. I have tricky curly hair, and as sweet as she was, I got the clear sense that she just didn't have the experience that I require for my kind of hair. There is no point in me taking advantage of their guarantee to return and have the same stylist make corrections, because I don't think she will be able to do it. I now have a very odd haircut that does not go with my hair at all, and very dark roots that are not flattering. Oh well, on to the next one! read more

Five stars because I have never felt more prioritized during a haircut than when I visited Local Honey. The manager is so sweet and friendly and the receptionist made contact with me as soon as I walked inside. The shampoo scrub was out of this world (thank you, Emily!) and I couldn't be happier with the cut I received. Oh, and they have cheerwine if you ask for it! My beloved stylist died suddenly, in New York City! I was bereft and as a result, had two ridiculous haircuts - one in NYC and one in Greensboro. I was frantic to find someone who could cut naturally curly/wavy hair. Found Local Honey, read the reviews and turned up in person to make an appointment. I explained my grave concern to Jay, the owner. We made an app't. As I was in my car, starting up, he appeared at my windshield to make sure that we understood each other! He must've spent 10 minutes talking to me. I showed up for my app't. with Emily and we talked it out exhaustively. This girl curated every strand of my hair!!!
