Also, half of the store is dedicated to novels of all genres. There is even a special spot to the right (next to the windows) with a "most recent" bookcase filled with trending books. You can make a full day out of venturing here since there is also a brewery, distillery, and a super cute restaurant all on the same road. The Pyramid Atlantic Art Center is a nonprofit center specializing in papermaking, printmaking, and book arts. It was founded in 1981, but more recently it moved into the historic Arcade building in the Hyattsville Gateway Arts District. They offer artist residencies, studios for artists, workshops, instruction, artist talks, and other events, including classes for the public. They sell pieces - large and small - and they have a small shop where they sell prints, cards, and other items. If I lived nearby and had the slightest artistic talent, I'd want to spend time at Pyramid. What a great resource for people who make art and love art in the Hyattsville area! I honestly just came in here to grab some snacks and maybe some items to help complete my apartment coming together. But what I can remember most about this place was there there was total chaos on the shelves. Some areas were just completely missing stock and some was just so disjointed. It was hard to find an item that you wanted, but to separate a like item halfway down the aisle really didn't make for a fun/fast shopping experience. The lines were long at the register, and it felt like you were bothering those that were working. But I can understand a bit, being stuck at the register while the store was a chaotic mess probably doesn't bode well with your mindset.
