The fixtures all looked clean and functioned well. The large cold dairy aisle was all in fridges with clean glass doors and they worked well. The floors were clean and shiny. The lighting was friendly. I'm impressed. I grabbed the three or five things that were on my list and got to the register where a helpful and friendly cashier rang them up, included a "frequent shopper" card since I told him that I didn't live in the area, and bagged my groceries politely. The parking lot was clean and the cart corrals were quite clear. I have to say, I'm impressed with the experience here.

Check the website, Food Lion is open until 11. John is at the race, dogs are fed so sure I am running back out. Walk in right at 9. Two lines backed up they are busy. No problem, they are open until 11. 9:15 I roll up to the registers with a small cart pretty full. No lines. Yippee. Lucky me. But all the register lights are off and one dude in patrolling self check out. Excuse me, which register is open? None. You have no cashiers and no registered open? Nope. But you are still open. We only have self check out now. Food Lion, it you will not pay someone to ring me up and take money - then pay someone to put my stuff back. Thank you.

That's important for me as I'm driving a big vehicle. The station has a traffic light at Dave Lyle Blvd and that makes it super easy to cross this busy road and get right to the onramp for the highway. Circle K does good coffee with a grind-to-order machine that pours right into the cup. Fresh and they have a hazlenut. I'm pleased with my visit today and I will return. Yesterday, I was craving melons and did not want to buy the whole melon. I tried the salad bar and packed a small container of watermelon, honey dew, grapes. I was charged over $7 for this small container and the fruit had zero flavor. The red grapes tasted sour. If you are going to have a fresh bar, make sure you are offering fresh and tasty items. Otherwise, wait until you can get a good product or produce before offering on the fresh bar.
