We have been driving across town to shop at this store. We come mainly for fresh meat and items we can't get at other stores. Yesterday, I was craving melons and did not want to buy the whole melon. I tried the salad bar and packed a small container of watermelon, honey dew, grapes. I was charged over $7 for this small container and the fruit had zero flavor. The red grapes tasted sour. If you are going to have a fresh bar, make sure you are offering fresh and tasty items. Otherwise, wait until you can get a good product or produce before offering on the fresh bar. read more

The Harris Teeter at Northwood Square in Rock Hill has gone downhill recently. Some of the workers, including shift Managers, are not taught customer service. Publix customer service is 100 times better. Service people behind the counters act like it is a bother to help customers. Half the time there isn't even someone within sight. Another excellent Teeter experience. This is a supermarket chain that simply excels with product, selection and with customer service. Pricing could be better but quality costs money. Product, bakery, deli, butcher, seafood, frozen. All in very good shape. Clean, wide aisles. Clear prices with a few bargains here and there. I've been very indecisive about doing a review for this chain because this is a store that I've been going to for over 20 years (OMG!)...primarily because it's located closest to my home. I'll start by saying that I really appreciate the hard work by the staff members during this pandemic. I also think that the staff, on the most part, have been very friendly to me over the years. That being said, I have also had string of issues over the years...all of which I've never bothered to address. To make it as short as possible, I'll just mention that I've experienced so many instances of products not being stocked adequately (long before the pandemic). In fact, I can never count on the store to have the products I need...and I routinely have to resort to going to a second grocery store. Another problem is the store layout. First of all, this is probably one of the smaller HT locations I've ever been to. The space is so tight throughout the store, and the aisles are so narrow, it's near impossible to social distance while shopping here...which brings me to the point at hand. The biggest issue is this... This past week, both my husband and I have seen customers strolling around inside the store without their masks (despite the SC mask mandate in place!). I know people don't like confrontations, but why are these maskless customers allowed entry without their masks in the first place? IF they took their masks off while shopping, are they told to put them back on for the sake of others?? Again, I saw 1 maskless customer...and my husband said he saw 3-4 customers without masks this week!! I know every business has excuses, as well as many of these customers ...but seriously, health of numerous shoppers are at stake here. I am so disappointed with the slack safety precautions at this "home" location. At least for the time being, I'm going to shop at some of the bigger HT locations in Fort Mill/Charlotte locations, where I've noticed better safety precautions. read more

My friend had pointed out a Harris Teeter store as we were driving over to Bonefish Grill for dinner. It was our first night in Charlotte, NC. I asked her what it was. It's essentially a grocery store that has tons of selection, along with a drug store, flowers, a Starbucks, and much more. While in Rock Hill, NC, we decided to stop by a Harris Teeter. My friend needed fruit juice and I simply love going to grocery stores. This store is a cross between Wegmans in NY and PA, and Longo's and Farm Boy here in the GTA. There is a wide selection of grocery items, samples, and Starbucks. Prices sway a bit on the higher side of the scale. We hit the produce section. We sampled pineapple chunks. Each sample station is carefully covered, with toothpicks to taste-test. Nice! I loved seeing TastyKake donuts and Carvel ice cream cakes. The cereal aisle was incredible. I ended up buying a box of Special K Protein cereal in cinnamon. So delicious! There were fresh sandwiches and ready-made soups. The bakery section looked wonderful with mouth-watering cinnamon buns with icing. There was even pancake mix in a jug. You simply shake, pour, and make. Wow! The shampoo and hair accessories aisle was equally impressive. My friend was there for a long time. The deodorant section was also there and she ended up getting some. This store is clean and everything is stocked nicely. I had no complaints here. It was a wonderful shopping experience. There is a Starbucks cafe in this store. Surprisingly, we didn't stop by to get our fix. We used the self-checkout. It was efficient and straightforward. Pay, bag, and go! The parking lot is huge. There is plenty of parking. If it weren't for fuel points and a great pharmacy, I would never darken the door. On the last aisle, frozen foods, they had wide displays all the way down leaving only two narrow aisles for carts, one which is always blocked with stocking. This leaves one aisle for carts coming from opposite directions! Guess the manager doesn't shop there or they would see the issue. read more

Love this grocery store. I drive 20-25 minutes north to come to this store, passing by food lion, Publix and Target, because they always have everything I need on my shopping list. If I can't find what I'm looking for everyone is so helpful and happy to help. The store is clean and well lit. The shelves are organized. I use the app and shop sales and I usually save about $30 a week when I shop there PLUS the fuel points. read more

Ordered holiday ham dinner and was very disappointed with the side dishes. Didn't know sides were prepackaged food that could have been purchased individually and the flavor in them was not good at all. The ham had to be opened and cooked for over an hour. It wasn't clear that all the food needed to be cooked. Buying individually would cost more versus holiday price, still not worth it. read more

THIS IS ABOUT THE STARBUCKS INSIDE THE STORE: I have traveled extensively and have been to a starbucks along the way in almost every state. The Starbucks location with drive thru near the 77 exit is close to home and easy to go to right before I exit onto 77 for work. Now my issue is that my low profile car and ridiculously expensive tires can no longer navigate the pot holes which have now morphed into sink holes that are taking over the road and parking lot there . The drive thru is always a plus but the wait is beyond the time I have spare. I thought I'd be smart and go inside one day. Nope. Epic fail. The 15 deep cars in the drive thru all left with their coffees before I got mine. Lesson learned. It's not a convenient spot for morning commuters. Then I realized that Harris Teeter which I have to pass before the drive thru Starbucks has a small Starbucks inside. I parked in the first parking spot, walked in , no line at all, got my drink and a warm smile from the Barista. I love Harris Teeter. They all have an awesome beer selection, and the sandwiches are top notch. I used to eat here on the regular, but there aren't any down where I love. I stopped in, grabbed a big bag of chips, and went to the deli for a sandwich. Got a large turkey sub. This thing was packed with turkey! The bread was fresh and the meat, although the processed deli kind, tasted like fresh turkey. The gal making the sandwich was super nice also. Bonus: I went to the self check, entered my Harris Teeter frequent shopping number, and got my sub for free due to an accumulation of points! What a nice surprise. Got a 10oz bag of chips and a large sub for $2.50. That's a steal! The ole Teet Teet comes through again. read more

I gave this store a 1 because I couldn't give it a zero! Went today to get an old fashioned cake for my daughter's birthday! It is her favorite! They had 100 frozen cakes in the freezer but out of the one she wanted! The had half cakes available! We went to the bakery counter and waited to talk to someone to see if they had any more full cakes or could get one made for tomorrow! We stood there why about 7 employees ( surprised they had that many!) and minutes passed by and no one even acknowledged us!!!!! I told my wife let's see how long it takes for one of the employees to acknowledge us! After 15 minutes passed by I finally approached an employee and asked my question about the cakes! She rudely responded by saying we don't make cakes they come in on a truck! I said ok will one be coming in tomorrow! Another clerk said I will go check! 15 minutes later no one ever came back with an answer so we left! Harris Teeter is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries. The store is always clean and well stocked. Staff is always friendly. They have the BEST sales, especially there BOGO sales. Convenient grocery shopping. This is the closest grocery store to our house. It's quite convenient. We don't do the majority of our shopping here due to the pricing. In a pinch it's convenient however, especially since it's open 24 hours. We do pizza here quite often however as it's quite good and on "pizza Monday" any pizza is $7.99. Excellent store. Do not expect to have low cost shopping here. I look at this location as quality and maybe even a bit upscale. The Starbucks located right next to the customer service counter says a lot about Harris Teeter's typical clientele. I went there to grab some ice cream and a pie I am sure I spent all of $30. The cashier even jokingly asked if I was leaving a bag out since I spent so much but had so little. Being the only Harris Teeter in Rock Hill I have the feeling that they don't care if things work or not. There is only one cashier that can scan your vic card from a smartphone. All other wands are broken. Some of the self checkouts have printer problems. Have complained to head office to no avail. Another thing I don't like is that in the frozen food section you can sometimes see two or three carts of frozen food sitting in the aisle waiting to be put away. From past experience I refuse to buy any ice cream products, as i'm sure they have been refrozen. read more

Yes, Harris Teeter costs a bit more than other grocery stores. This is part of their business plan. Harris Teeter isn't here to compete directly with Food Lion and Walmart. Have any of you actually compared a trip to the Walmart on Dave Lyle with one to the Harris Teeter on Celanese? Sure...they both sell food, but they sell entirely different experiences. You don't see a "People of Harris Teeter" website do you (www.peopleofwalmart.com)? Buttcracks, body odor, women in slippers, bellies hanging out, crackheads, greasy mullets, swimsuit wearing shoppers, bad tattoos, muffintops, Camaro hair, the overweight scooter crew, pajamas, people with really bad tattoos and meth mouth are all common sights at Wally World. Not Harris Teeter. (Okay...so yes...they are direct competitors...but you see where I'm going with this) Sure, those sights may be amusing from time to time...but not if you have a busy life. Most of us want a hassle free experience with a selection of great products. Harris Teeter offers both. This store is clean, the management is nice and helpful, as are the workers. The sushi here is surprisingly good and the pizzas are way better than anything that's being delivered to your door. In fact, the pizzas rival most of the pizza joints in town. This location would get five stars if they were bigger. I realize that I'm not going to find everything I want since this is the Rock Hill location. *Adding the "special item request" online would be nice...FYI. Try: The East Coast Fresh Cuts Salsa (It's fresh, and it doesn't get better unless you make it yourself. Avoid: The deli's mac'n'cheese. I'm not sure how many calories this stuff has, but if I didn't have clogged arteries before...I do now. Always clean and friendly staff. Small for a HT and that's the only thing I don't like, needs more room as doesn't have the products that many of the larger ones do. They recently added a Starbucks inside and that only made it less space for HT due to the Starbucks dining area, which i rarely see more than two tables being used. Wish they would have kept that space for groceries. Can be packed around 5 pm with the traffic rush and hard to get down aisles. All in all a nice little neighborhood HT. read more

This place is 24 hours. There is a Starbucks inside. The cashiers are almost all high school aged, but helpful. Some are quicker than others. Overall, customer service is excellent and the place is very clean. There are 2 dvdredboxes outside. I highly recommend this store. read more

When I visited Harris Teeter on Celanese on Wednesday of this week, I went in wearing a mask and immediately saw a customer not wearing one. I was able to get away from him and then saw two more customers near the meat counter without masks. I was able to avoid them but when I saw two more customers and a clerk not wearing his mask appropriately, I quickly got the items I needed and checked out. I spoke with 2 managers about the fact that at least 5 people were in the store at that time without masks. Lo and behold as we stood there, 2 more customers walked in without masks. I did not feel safe in Harris Teeter and told the managers how I felt. They said that the most they could do is offer customers a mask. There was no evidence that Harris Teeter had asked the unmasked customers to wear a mask. Rather, they allowed them to circulate all over the store without asking them to wear a mask. I asked them to call the police to approach the customers not wearing masks to explain they are breaking a city wide ordinance. It will be awhile before I go back in the Harris Teeter on Celanese in Rock Hill. I do not feel safe in that particular store. read more

I have been shopping here for years. The workers are always friendly and helpful. The store is always clean. They have an order on line option, I have never used it though. It is nice that they have a drive up grocery pickup. That is where you pick up on line orders as well as carry outs, which is very useful when you have a lot of groceries. They have awesome sales and coupon deals. The only bad thing is the deals are so good sometimes, people come in the morning of the the sale and clear the shelves. So people that just want a good deal on a product they use can't get it. They do give rain checks but if you have a coupon for the product that expires you can't get as good of a deal. Their return policy is great. I one bought some chicken breasts at the meat counter (1.99 lb for boneless skinless breasts) and when I got home there was something on the chicken. I took it back and they gave me double my money back plus more chicken. read more

Everytime I go into this location I get more and more discouraged, frustrated and upset. I see multiple employees standing around customer service, none of which speak to me, ever. There are no cookies in the bin. I have to bring my kids with me and we specifically go to Harris teeter for the samples and I was told this location put them out at 3 pm. Where as when I lived in Charlotte it was all day and plentiful! No one working the bread counter, no bread or dip sample. 2 cheeses and 2 fruits and that's it. The produce has been very sub par, maybe not their fault but the produce guy just looked at me confused when I asked him a question. The cashier did not even look at me until I paid. I have two happy cute kids with me and NOTHING. Just awful. It's a small store anyways but they're always out of many items and carry no organic rotisserie chickens, lunch meat or fresh food options. I have shopped at Harris Teeter for a long time. It is my favorite place. I think the meat dept. has the top of the line group. They are friendly, happy and willing to help you. David has a well trained group, they are crossed trained and can help you in every section. Linda keeps the counter filled and neat. If you need something special just ask. This review is about the express lane service. It is always hit or miss. Some personal shoppers are very pleasant and go above and beyond. If you select 'allow substitutions' you expect that is what happens. One employee called me one day and left a message about everything she substituted based on her personal experience and stated she thought I would be very happy with it, otherwise she would replace it. But then there are others who have called me and left a message that they did not have x, y, and z and have a good day and slammed the phone down. The most recent was someone named Carol. I thought to myself, well, I said allow substitutions. It was not that hard to substitute some frozen broccoli and crystal light especially when I had already notated which crystal lights were ok in place of. When I called back I got a very nice girl on the phone who reshopped for me and was awesome. Very pleasant too. There are also kind employees who offer substitutions at reduced prices or equal to the one you ordered. But it won't be Carol. She was not interested in finding anything to substitute. Most times there is always something out of stock, but you can get a raincheck if it's on sale or the right employee will substitute something excellent. I do not tip the shopper, but the person who made it right and brought the groceries to me. If you are that unhappy with your job, find another one instead of aggravating customers. People use the express lane because they are busy with work, children, and because you offer it. So if you don't want to do what you claim in a pleasant manner, don't offer it. read more
