I had a 'one off' Customer Service issue today. I debated on writing this one Star review because the majority of the time, I've better than just good experiences. I went early on a Sunday morning. I like to beat the crowds and usually you can get in/out much quicker. I admit, I don't know the floor layout of this store like I do H&T where I usually shop so sometimes it takes me a little longer. My Son asked me to pick up some items here so I did. I was looking for the Panera Bread branded soups. I know they have them because I've bought them at other Publix stores like Indian Land and Fort Mill. I asked a lady behind the deli counter if she could help me. She reluctantly said 'what do you need'? That was the first indicator this lady didn't want to be there or she just had a 'tude. I told her what I was looking for and she said 'I've never seen them here'. When I told her I had purchased them there before she responded with 'well, if you don't see it out there, we either don't have it or we are out'. What she was saying, without saying it is she didn't know and she really didn't care. I just shook my head and said 'OK' and walked away. Then she said 'I hope you have a nice day'. Oh, she coulda said anything else. So I cruised around and finally found them on the top shelf of the section where they keep the brewed tea in gallon containers. I picked out what I needed and then walked over and showed her I had them. She just looked at me without speaking. I smiled and said 'I hope you have a nice day'. read more

Publix has higher prices but also higher quality products. We watch for the bogo deals, but make sure to watch the prices at checkout. They don't always ring up correctly. THE BEST bakery, deli sandwich (aka the Pubsub), and seafood. read more

Probably because there is no manager in the area to take control and get the customers taken care of. This is usually a good store. Cone on Publix, don't let this store go down hill. Just here to tell you to go to the one on herlong or better yet, Gold Hill if you can make it up to Fort Mill. I have two instances of poor service. First, I ordered a large catering order and they were 45 minutes late. They did refund me half of it which was LOVELY but late nevertheless. Secondly, I asked to have a cake written on and they made me pay for it first. I didn't really question it but did regardless and no wonder why they have that policy... the baker's handwriting was TERRIBLE. Embarrassing to serve the cake and $40 poorly spent. read more

I'm really pleased with Publix in the Charlotte area and this location in Rock Hill is another outstanding store. It's clean. It's tidy. It's very well stocked. The prices are competitive with Harris Teeter. They have an outstanding deli. Associates seem happy and understand how important it is to greet customers as they walk past rather than simply ignore them. Oh, and the carts never seem to have a busted wheel. read more

I was in there earlier the man was bagging my groceries pulled out a bloody tissue & wiped his two open sores that was bleeding then place it back in his pocket then continue to bag my groceries he did not sanitize his hand . I asked for a refund for my groceries n the manager act like she did not want to give it . She had a attitude. They did not ask him to bandage it up or anything while leaving he was pushing carts that is unsanitary walking around dripping blood ! Not sure how anyone could compare Publix to Bi-lo. The friendly staff, clean store and great produce are definitely what give them 5 stars. My only objection is pricing! If they could be a little more competitive in pricing I would bump them up to a 5. Who cares that the store is set up the same way Bi-lo was. and it's actually quite different. read more

My husband and I love to cook, and we love Publix, largely because we can always find what we need there -- even if what we're looking for is a bit off-beat. Publix has excellent selections of international cooking ingredients, organic ingredients, and gourmet ingredients. Even more important than the selection are the people who work at Publix. This morning, I wanted a spray bottle -- the kind most people use for misting plants, and that we use for giving showers to our parrots. I did not find any, so I asked for help. At most grocery stores, some employee might tell you on which aisle they think you might find an item. At our Publix this morning, THREE employees helped me look for what I wanted -- and one of them found it for me. THAT is superior service, and that is my main reason for liking Publix. There are at least three grocery stores nearer us, and we drive past them all to go to Publix. read more

The staff goes above and beyond for a great shopping experience. I had an issue where some of my items were damaged by poor bagging, so I sent a message to inform the store that retraining was needed. The management team contacted me the next day and replaced all my damaged groceries. You don't see that kind of follow up too often, and due to how well they handled the situation, I know where I'll be going from now on. Thank you Publix!!!! read more

I placed an online deli order Tuesday and was suppose to pick it up Wednesday. I arrived to pick up my order and was told there wasn't an order placed in my name. I had to show the comformation email in order for them to find my order. I was told to come back the next day because my order wasn't ready. I return on Thursday at 3:40 to get my order they take my name and went to look for my order not returning until 4:00. I was told my order was still being prepared but when I received my order the grapes were rotten and the meat was not the correct color. When I addressed the issue the deli manager walked off with an attitude so I went to the customer service desk to ask for another manager. She took the tray back to the same man and they got another pre-made tray from the refrigerator section and tried to combine the two trays to make a presentable one for me. In conclusion the cheese and meat tray wasn't made fresh they got it out of the refrigerator section with a expiration date of 12/24 and I was picking it up on 12/22. The manager told me they only last 2 days. I would never shop at this Publix again. read more

Store is just as good as other Publix in most regards but one bad experience has turned me off from going here. You ever see that Seinfeld episode where Jerry is buying new shelves? The contractor comes in (Conrad, Connie, whatever you prefer) and feels the need to get his opinion on every little detail about building it. It eventually drives Jerry up the wall to where he basically tells the guy just to build the damn thing! Same experience with their deli department and subs. After one experience where they took it upon themselves to call me to discuss a minor thing I asked for on the sub they didn't have, I explained to them that next time it's not necessary to do so. While you can argue over whether that's a bad thing or not here's why I wrote this review. I even starting writing in the comments section for preparation that it's okay to substitute certain items if they don't have it and explained to the person in the department the same thing. So what they do? They call me about some insignificant detail again! While most people probably won't care much about this type of experience I have a hard time going to a store where it's clear some of the staff there doesn't listen and have common sense. I would gladly trade employees who ask me how I'm doing as I'm walking around doing shopping for some that know aren't as chipper but can follow basic instructions. read more

I don't know what store the previous reviewer went into but I love, love, love this Publix! This store has actually made me enjoy grocery shopping. I previously had been a Walmart Supercenter shopper and was so frustrated with that. With Publix, I am willing to pay a little more to be greeted and *helped* by happy employees and to shop in a clean, well stocked store. I really feel like the employees here enjoy their job and enjoy helping people. I love this place! read more

Honestly, 2.5. Its in the old Super Bi-Lo off Cherry. You know, the pretty much new Bi-Lo that (seems like it) just moved there from the empty building across the street? Anyway, its set up just like the old place. Everything is in its exact spot; bakery to far right, bread to far left. The smell of fish slapped me as soon as I walked in the door. The prices were outrageous. The meat looked good but too pricey. I'd rather get an excellent piece of meet at Harris Teeter with a sale sticker on it. Still a messed up lot to drive in, smooth but hardly navigable. I will say the cafe and WiFi spot is a nice touch. read more

I work one weekend a month at a business on Cherry Rd. I try to purchase lunch for my staff on the weekends that I work. Although I know I'm supposed to get an order in the day prior, I often forget because I'm not at work the day before my work weekend. Every single time I've called the deli to order what I need for my staff's lunch, they have made it happen! They don't have to, as it is their policy to get large orders 24 hours in advance. But they do anyway. I really appreciate their customer service (and so does my staff)! read more

This is the best chain of grocery stores as far as I'm concerned. We were helped getting lobster tails and some of the best salmon we've ever had. The employees are so helpful and friendly. Slightly pricier on some goods but the service and cleanliness makes it worth it. read more

Publix is by far the best grocery chain around. My grandparents live in FL and we loved going down there every time we would visit - our favorite was their Mountain Bread...YUM! Started shopping Publix when they came to Cherry Rd. All went well for maybe a month, good produce, dairy products, deli meats and cheeses all were fresh and customer service was decent. Ever since several months after the opening it has gone down hill. We would primarily shop on Sunday, not sure that makes a difference, but the produce began to go down hill, rotten berries, bruised apples, spotty bananas, just got to the point we would bypass produce. Then came the fall of the deli. One Sunday while ordering sliced meats our server stated that she would have to go back into the back for some more meat to carve, there was just a small bit left and she said it was old. The older male supervisor pulled her aside outside of ear shot of us, she came back and said that she would need to finish the side before she got another, we declined, so at that point we also bypassed the deli. The last straw was the dairy section. Picking up yogurt one week it was noticeable that the expiration date was a couple days away, we figured we would eat it before it expired, the next week the same issue. That has been two months ago and we have not returned. We have doubled our travel distance to shop Harris Teeter across town and will continue to do so. read more

I love publix but i went at 7 on my break to grab a quick meal from the deli. One person was there in front of me wanting a sub made. Then another customer walked and cut me in line. Then two people appear from the back to make items. Once the two in front of me finally reach finish there subs. The employee walks away and says to wait on the next guy. This person asked me what I wanted then proceeded to start stocking sub wraps instead of helping me. I waited for over 25 minutes to just be acknowledged. I am super annoyed because I didn't even have enough time to wait on him finally finish stocking and make my sub. Because if I did I would be late going back to work. So I have to now wait 5 more hours till I'm off to eat. And that will be when most places are closed. read more

Publix was great at first. Their customer service is horrible. Nothing like any experience you will ever have in a publix in Florida where they originated. Every week I purchase something spoiled that has to be returned. Chicken, pork, and milk. I purchase my meat at an online meat company because publix was charging me for prime beef and half of the time it was not prime. This morning I poured spoiled creamer in my coffee. I have spoken to the regional manager on several different occasions and nothing has been changed. read more
