Honestly they had everything I wanted didn't have to go somewhere else for a missing item. The store was a bit out of whack but hey it's the Christmas holidays and there is stuff everywhere. There's a section for frozen foods and all the other things that come with one of those freezer coolers...all in all I will definitely come back on a slower days and just check the store out thoroughly to see what else I can find.

I usually choose to shop at the Portland HEB. The store doesn't have a car wash and the parking lot can be a bit challenging at times, but the store is clean, well stocked and there are several great HEB partners that make shopping there enjoyable. Andrew is a very knowledgeable and trustworthy pharmacist. Alex in the seafood department is always very helpful and friendly. The seafood department sanitation is outstanding. The seafood quality at this store is consistently very good. All of the cashiers are friendly and well trained. I find Pearl to be one of the fastest cashiers and always very attentive and friendly. Chrissy is a bright light of energy as a bagger. She sometimes forgets to bag quickly because she is busy spreading cheer, but she did both very well today. This store has very good perishables overall. Deli is well run and produce is consistently well culled and merchandised. The floral department outstanding for a smaller store. The flowers always last a long time which tells me they order, rotate stock and handle the flowers well. The cut flower stems are always freshly cut. They have made nice arrangements and corsages for me too.

This trip we stayed in a TownePlace suite, with a mini kitchen that has an oven, so we made dinner ourselves each night. We visited this HEB twice. Once we were able to get some Texas shrimp, for a great shrimp-and-rice dinner that my wonderful wife cooked. Great help from the lady in the fish section. A clean store. Great food selection. The store is way bigger than the one on Airline Road way better way cleaner, a lot more choices and gives you a great alternative to H-E-B. They'll make sandwiches for you there if you want their produce is always fresh many of the items in the store organic and they have a coffee and candy and grain section where you can take stuff out of the barrel. We've been to NEXs around the world and this is by far one of the worst. The prices of toiletries were higher than the HEB or Walmart in town. The electronics selection was scant and the few available could be purchased for less online (even factoring in the no tax advantage of the NEX). The shoe selection for women and children was abysmal. There were a few more items for the men, but not much. Considering the south Texas location, you'd think they'd have more sandals. Overall I'd pass if you have an opportunity to go to another location.

Other exchanges such as AAFES run out of products like this. This Navy Exchange always has many good sales and promotions. Next year I will make it a priority to come to this exchange for awesome Black Friday sales. The employees are very helpful and provide awesome customer service. I highly recommend this store for great specials and deals throughout the year especially during the Christmas season.
