The cashier used to at an island in the middle of the store. It's now on the side. Not really a problem. So, they used to have more food!! They had a deli! With fresh made to order sandwiches. Now it's mostly just frozen foods I can get at the local stop & shop a few miles from Onset. I like how close it is to my parents house. 30 second'ish walk from the crib!!!!!! Now they have a lot more alcohol which if you're an alcoholic like my mom and I, it's great but once again, I miss the food. I was minding my own, bagging groceries and using the paper bags that need to be paid for. My boyfriend, my two young daughters and I were very thrown off when a woman from the staff with long dark hair approached me with a snarly attitude about the bags. She rudely says "You know you gave to scan and pay for those bags, right! They're not free!". I explained to her that I know and am there everyday, either personal or doing Instacart. She continues to reiterate that "well the bags still aren't free!" In a condescending, snarky tone. I felt completely embarrassed by the busy, full store looking directly at me and my family as she was insinuating I was going to STEAL PAPER BAGS! I can't even describe how uncomfortable my family and I felt. And FUNNY & IRONIC that in that completely packed store, every checkout full, we were the only ones that she said this to! Why? Because I have tattoos and piercings and everyone else there was clean cut? Do I "look" like a paper bag theif? I felt targeted, embarrassed and really upset with this experience. I've NEVER had an issue in the store before. The young gentleman who works there gives my little girls stickers, etc. But this lady is absolutely rude and shouldn't be managing a store with that attitude towards customers. Especially when I was doing absolutely nothing but innocently bagging our groceries!

I saw cute bathing suits and lots of groceries there too. What we have back in California like this is called "Big N Lots" and previous to that- "Pick N Save." The idea behind it is inexpensive! I like that concept. If I walked in with more money, time, and suitcase space-I just know I could do some real damage to my pocketbook here. I dare not go beyond the initial entry perimeter because I know that those discontinued Pop Tarts and cheap nailpolish remover is just what I need! Kudo's for the great big parking lot on the main drag. Too bad the next door Dunkin Donuts relocated-but then again it just went right across the street. I bet Job Lot in summer is packed with the Cape Cod tourist crowd but in May, it was serene and pleasing. Keep up the good work with selling stuff we do not necessarily need but think we do anyways!
