Huge selection, especially of food items that are hard to find, such as for Russian cuisine like beetroot salad and beets used for borscht. The staff we're friendly. We got a lot of items for a low price, so it is definitely a good value. The towel section was a little picked over, however. I think they could stand to wash the floor and have an air purification system, however. It was dusty in there, unfortunately. read more

I had a wonderful experience, a few days ago, with Mike and Mericio ("Moe"), who work in the Hyannis, MA store. Mike was very friendly, eager to help, and assisted me in finding what I was looking for. I commented on the shirts on the employees, that read, "We are here to help you!" I told him I so appreciuated that! His tesponse was, "Customer service is the best part of my job! I love hgelping people!" I have never heartd that comment from anyone, who works in retail!! I proceeded to the register, where Mericio (pronounced "Meh Dees Yoo"), who was also very friendly; he asked if I found everything I was looking for, and we got talking about customer service. He was fun, pleasant and very efficient. Kudos to them and to the manager, who hired them both! They are an asset to your Hyannis store! I love the bargains, but that your employees are actually happy to help you wins the prize! Give Mike and Mericio bonuses in the next paychecks! Great job! The manager actually told me to go on-line to write this, so that his two employees would be recognized by corporate. That is the way to manage effectively! Keep up the great work. Hadn't been to this store in several years, but was looking for something specific that I checked was in stock online. Traffic was bad getting there (it is located off a very busy rotary), parking lot was a little difficulty to navigate but found a spot. The area has changed. This Job Lot is... fine. Ok, for what you get from a Job Lot, it makes sense that it's dingy. I like the low prices, but almost everyone who's working there seems super depressed. And also, it's just kind of dirty. It could use a sweep and a dusting. It also doesn't help that some makeup I bought there gave me a rash. But maybe that's my fault for buying makeup at Job Lot. It's great for things like plant pots, cheap craft supplies, and household necessities like toilet scrubbers. Not great for clothes, personal care products, or food (much of the food is dangerously close to expiration, I've noticed.) read more

I've driven by this for years, and never stopped. so, I stopped. It's got remaindered items and a few built for them items. the remainder items, who knows what you will get? I got a lighthouse for the garden, another for my silly brother (who will get a nice christmas present out of it), some Crocks for $10 a pair, including a penn state pair, how cool and misguided is that, penn state crocks in MA? I'm told that each store has a different selection, and clearly it would change over time. So, you can go to multiple ones and go multiple times. If you have been here you know what you are going to get. If this is your first time, buyer beware. Certain items are a great deal for the prices, other items you are better off going elsewhere for better quality. Never ever ever buy tools from these stores! I bought a pry bar years ago and within a month the nail pick (short end) snapped off and flew past my face. I am not exaggerating at all; a one inch edge of this metal bar zinged past my cheek after a moderate hammer strike. This would have caused some pretty gnarly damage to my flawless, flawless face. I have heard the clothes are all the bad or odd sized items pricier stores cant sell. Buyer beware. read more

Hyannis store the worst. Cramped and useless employees. Senior days discount missed on a friends purchases and when asked"well, he didn't ask". Let's not offer to rectify it, let's just stare blankly at the customer. I just want to say the polite young girl that checked me out was very nice and she is the only reason I asked the other cashier about the discount. read more

A nice OSJL. Great bargains with a little dirt and grime. You never know what you will find from tooth paste to sweatshirts. Great Patriots t shirts and sweatshirts. Name brand clothes at cheap prices. Hard to find things in the store, but that is what you get. Some merchandise has been in the store for a few years. Same plaza as TJ Maxx, so bargain hunters rejoice. read more

Definitely not one of the better OSJLs I've visited. This location is really small and cramped and there's so much stuff it's difficult to maneuver through the aisles. They have your usual OSJL close out stuff, but you've got to really be devoted to a bargain to spend a lot of time in this store. I just wanted to get out of there! OSJL can be a good source for certain things like kitchen accessories, dishes and cleaning supplies like sponges and clothes, but do not buy other things here. The nail polishes they were selling here were super old and separating in the bottles. Most of the food items scare me. I was also a little disturbed by my experience in the checkout here. My cashier was carrying on a conversation with the cashier on the opposite side the whole time she was checking me out. I couldn't quite make out what they were talking about due to their heavy accents but the word KILL was definitely mixed into their conversation. Let's hope they were talking about how they were going to KILL it in their new dresses or something and that they were not talking about actual murder. Was a little disturbing... yeah, probably will not be coming back here. read more

Great place to browse for deals. Clearly not Saks or Macys so don't expect a lovely organized environment. But great deals on socks, kitchenware, household stuff, some packaged food like cookies, cereal. Occaissonally good shirts, sweaters, jackets from brands like Lands End, White Stag, etc. read more
