Paul is very friendly, but the friendliness level of the check-out staff can be rather hit-and-miss, some can't find a smile, some can't manage a "hi". Not as much love as when Willie assured us , "We love your here at Willies!". That's probably also the reason for taking unfair advantage of their fortunate position as the only major grocery store within an hours drive of Morris. I think we can all understand the business sense of "get it while the getting is good" but charging 3+ times the price of any competitor goes beyond that. The customers lost some things that Willie's offered pre-Covid, things that were never brought back, some that had always been and are now lost to the past (paper bags is one with lots of complaints). Now I hear we're going to lose Pump Perks. Paul shouldn't lose sight of what could happen if another grocer ever did move into town. Yes, we appreciate having Super Valu in town, and, yes, we will pay the oft exorbitant prices (the reality of monopolies), but, maybe, in return, Willie's could bring back something customers have lost? Maybe keep the Pump Perks or bring back the paper bags. Something tangible to show your appreciation for every customer's contribution to your continued success, something that says, "Remember, we STILL love you here at Willie's"! The store is really bright and well-designed and kept immaculate and well-organized. The produce was all fresh and I saw nary a blemish on any of them. Same with the meat/butcher section. They have cute little cars in front of carts for little ones. They bag your groceries and carry out your food to your car. They had a good coupon book and had some inexpensive options for every item.

The boss at the time (mike) was an unfair and disloyal boss. Mike was laying to my coworker about how much she was getting paied hourly. Mike also gave people who had tattoos/piercings or wasn't white, not the same respect as the other employees. When everyone quit, but me and one person, I asked for a raise and all they wanted to give me was 25 cents more. If you plan on working here, realize you wont be getting paied well, or raises at all, they will give you more work and responsibilities, but refuse to pay you for what your worth. The food handling could be way better as well, the way they handle their chicken is honestly disgusting. One time there was a spider in the batch of chicken and I asked what to do about it, and the deli manager told me to fry it up anyways. The deli manager also seemed to really bully her employees, making the coworkers cry form time to time,and no one would do anything about it. Dont ever show up late without calling too, otherwise they will call welfare on you. The atmosphere of that place always kept me on edge and the bullying made me not wanna go into work, because the deli manger. She will make you feel horrible for the small things you mess up on and talk behind your back about it with all the other employees. Her fake nice seems so real tho. I decided to get a pastrami and a pulled pork sandwich to go. The kid behind the counter actually heated up the two meats in a pan, I thought that was a nice touch. The lady was very nice and served it to me with a smile. I got 4 elk burgers to grill and I have had two. They are kind of gamey in a nice way and super lean. I will add some salt and pepper to it when I grill it up tonight. I might even add a slice of pepper jack to add a little fat to the meal. It went well with a nice side salad and some zucchini sticks. This place was a great small town meat market and there was a vegetable stand in the parking lot and I got some great cherry tomatoes.
