I decided to take a look at the beta fish because why not and noticed they are in pretty bad condition. There's algae growing inside the cups, that doesn't happen over night, and a lot of feces. Not only that, but the betas look EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY. There is one fish that's upside down, not dead, and cannot stay under the waterline. I'm assuming it's some sort of bloating. Why are you guys selling betas if you're not caring for them properly? I did notify one of the employees and he looked at me like "what am I supposed to do about it?"

We were referred here to purchase some Kalamazoo coffee beans. They had a large variety of beans, ground coffee and K- cups. One of my favorite features was the bulk bin area. I was able to scoop out any amount of beans, rather than being stuck with a pre-packaged size. The store was clean, well layed out and staff were very nice.

I appreciate that they are open until 10pm most days as I usually end up running to the store around 9pm. The 30 minute warning to bring items to the front seemed extremely early but it gave me a chuckle the last time I was there. Their cakes are moist, and everyone loves their whipped topping icing. My order is always ready when I tell them what time I'll be there to pick it up. And the pricing is very attractive - 1/2 sheet cake is around $34 with a photo imprint. Thanks to the bakery staff for keeping our employees happy. I also want to mention the cashiers are very friendly. One I hadn't seen in about a year and she remembered me. How's that for service!

Now, Kirkwood products kind of fit the "you get what you pay for" adage, but once you get a feel for what works and what doesn't you can get some quirky items at a fair price. Their meat selection is a bit hit-or-miss and subject to change, but it's good overall. There's alsways the rushed feeling at the cash register--you sure can't say the cashiers are slow. They're usually hyper enough to make me nervous, but I guess that's a good problem to have. The rent-a-cart thing is infantilizing, but I generally just grab a box that's sitting around in the store somewhere.
