CLOSED. Boarded up. Closed from the hurricane. Walked over a mile to get there. It would have been nice to know of closure before hand.

The Orange Beach Rouse's has the best looking lunch buffet I have ever seen at any Rouse's…read morelocation. They even had muffulettas on it! This store is so much cleaner and the buffet so much nicer than any of the New Orleans area locations I've frequented. It is nice to get my New Orleans staples here like Rouse's house brand Creole Mustard and their superior 100% olive oil Rouse's Olive Salad in regular or jalapeno. They even have Hubig's Pies here! Rouse's has what New Orleans folks need to stay sane when they are down in the culinary wilds of Lower Alabama where finding just regular mustard is often quite a task much less the BEST mustard option of creole mustard is nearly impossible to find at local restaurants unless you bring your own. I always keep creole mustard in my vehicle at all times as I have frequent mustard emergencies whenever I have to deal with the culinary shortcomings of Alabama. Don't even get me started on what they call "gumbo" which is usually just blah Alabama soup. The ONLY acceptable gumbo I've found in Alabama is at Tamara's Downtown in Fairhope!

I was so happy when I went down the spice aisle to find my McCormick seasoned meat tenderizer. I can't find it in any grocery store in Florida and it was a staple in my pantry for many years. I have been ordering it on Amazon for a ridiculous price. I got two. One for Pensacola and one to bring back with me to Panama. Now I don't have to drive all the way to New Orleans to get great Cajun and Creole faves. I'm also pretty excited about the hot bar. Seafood Friday 999 a pound and the only day they serve seafood gumbo. I'm sure the chicken gumbo is great but there's nothing like seafood gumbo. What's even greater is the customer Service at Rouses! All of the workers are superduper, friendly, and helpful. My son got fresh made popcorn and cotton candy. The sushi chef hooked me up with sushi exactly the way I like it. You just can't go wrong with Rouses!!

Local grocery store that has basically anything you want to cook with, snack on, or eat as a meal…read more They have a self serve bar in the deli, that changes daily. They have a seafood dept that has a variety to choose from, mostly known for their boiled shrimp and crawfish~Cajun style. We like the seafood dips they have, especially the smoked tuna a dip. They have the best key lime pie in town. So, I usually have one of those in my freezer. Oh, they have a big area for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. You name it, Rouse's probably has it. Rouse's is more convenient to the beach than other grocery stores, but it may be a little pricier. You have to weigh the pros and the cons, like all other places. Note: pics taken from Rouse's online site.

This location has a fresh sushi count that looked amazing and a great selection of fresh or steamed fish and seafood. I love walking down the aisles to see all the things you'd never find in most grocery stores, the staff here is very welcoming and outgoing and always ready to help direct you to anything you need. I just heard Rouse purchased (10) more Winn Dixie locations that they plan to renovate and rebrand them under the Rouse name, unfortunately none close to my home but it's great news for their Louisiana and Mississippi loyal customers. If you've never entered a Rouse Market you definitely need to check them out...

Take your taste buds on a journey over to their sample bar & choose your heat level ranging from Mild to Wild delighting in a symphony of flavors bound to satisfy any hot sauce & spice lover or food connoisseur alike. So come on in & taste the Smokies at Pepper Palace. Pepper Palace is everything I expected in quality & variety when it comes to their sauce, spices, or other products they have to offer. As I'm sampling through their sample bar of sauces & spices, it inspired many different ideas for many dishes. I would use these sauces for, like honey chipotle barbcue, most excellent steak marinade ever & garlic herb seasoning, which I would use for my steak and chicken taco salad as an example. If you want ideas for recipes to make with their sauce and spices, they have a recipe book available & there's also a few recipes posted online.     When I walked into the store, I noticed how they keep the sauces and spices well organized along the racks & sample bar ready for customers to sample at a moment's notice. The staff that works here are friendly and knowledgeable in each one of the products available. Sometimes if you comment on how much you like what you tasted. The staff will recommend a favorite of theirs that they find go good with a particular dish. I got recommended by their cashier for a cocktail sauce on shift that I mix Nasal Napalm & Sauce Master Medium Hot Sauce. (Which I'll upload a pic) I tried it upon their recommendation & it will be the only thing I'd dip my shrimp in after seasoning it with their garlic herb seasoning. I have already recommended this to connoisseur & hot sauce enthusiasts.   I'm looking forward to my next visit to this location or one of their other Tanger outlets stores in Foley or Pittsburgh.   Be sure to like on FB & tell a friend. https://www.facebook.com/PepperPalace/ Or visit them on the web at http://www.pepperpalace.com
