We notice the cashiers are consistently charging for items not purchased and overcharging for items (ie charging for a 5lbs bag of onions instead of a 2lbs bag). A one time or 2 time mistake is one thing, but when it happens more visits than not, it makes you think either they are incompetent or dishonest. A wicked thing to do esp to the elderly who are on fixed budgets. Buyer beware- check your receipts if you choose to shop there.

I have shopped at seven different ShopRite locations across New Jersey, depending on where I happen…read moreto be, and Hillsborough and Bound Brook are by far my favorites. I had heard so much about the newly remodeled Super ShopRite in the Blue Star Shopping Center that I decided to check it out for myself. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. For such a large store, I found it overwhelmingly crowded. Parking was a complete nightmare, especially if you need handicap-accessible parking. Once inside, there were so many shoppers that it was difficult to walk down the aisles without constantly having to maneuver around people. Even though I went during what should have been an off-peak time, the store still felt packed. The layout also wasn't for me. It felt more like a huge warehouse with grocery aisles than a traditional supermarket, and I found it difficult to navigate. On the positive side, the store was extremely clean and offered an impressive variety of ethnic foods, specialty items, and products that you may not find at other ShopRite locations. That was definitely one of its strongest points. Unfortunately, I also found some of the shoppers unusually rude, which is something I haven't experienced to this degree at any of the other ShopRites I regularly visit. My guess is that because this location is so large and well-known, it draws huge crowds from many surrounding towns. Checkout was fine, although I do wish the employees I encountered had been a little warmer and friendlier. Overall, I'm glad I checked it out, but I'll definitely be sticking with my favorite ShopRite locations. For me, easier parking, aisles that are much easier to navigate, smaller crowds, and consistently friendly employees make for a much more enjoyable shopping experience.

I feel bad for this ShopRite page, because they moved down to another building and it's amazingly…read moreimpressive, with new sections and even the staff seems new. Sadly, I'm not sure how to edit this and even the location is a bit off now. Minor complaint is that I wish the ready to eat food bar and sections were a bit more affordable (imagine if they had a soup and sandwich or hot food deal) and I do think the old ShopRite had more sales, especially on frozen veggies and dinner items, but their selection is impressive and I rarely have to wait on line to checkout because they have so much self-checkout stations.

I was recently in the area and bought fish from this stop and shop. That was a huge mistake. By the…read morenext morning, my refrigerator reeked and clearly the fish was bad. I called to report this and was told that they could do nothing about it because I live out of the area and couldn't physically come into the store. There was no solution offered to simply charge back my credit card, and even though I have a stop and shop card, they refused to do anything about it. I am really disappointed with this level of disservice as my local Stop & Shop always goes above and beyond. Be very wary of purchasing anything perishable in the store.

As of Wed 9/1 (In the…read moremidst of hurricane Ida) they told customers "they must leave" and "I don't know what to tell you.. wait it out outside" while NJ declared a state of emergency due to flooding, tornadoes, etc. NJ residents were advised to stay put- EVEN IF THEY ARE IN A STORE. Extremely negligent behavior; as previously mentioned, someone close to me could have lost their life due to the carelessness of the staff. People were being swept away on foot and in cars due to the strong winds and flooding, and these employees thought it was appropriate to almost literally kick customers away in this emergency. Absolutely disgusting behavior- I will never patronize this business. What were you thinking?

Sometimes there can be a long line and customer's are met with the annoyance of the employee. That was not my experience this and it's worth highlighting!
