Lol...I have always discounted Family Dollar's as cheap-looking crap that is not worth a penny. But I was surprised to find a 7 piece stainless steel kitchenware for $25..it's normally $50 in the other places. I ended up here because I had to buy some ordinary household items for my mom who was moving into her new place. I looked forward to it with dread. I still don't like the clothes, general atmosphere but who the heck cares when the prices are better for certain items. That's this store's mantra... They have scrubs for people in the medical field, and I'm sure it's cheaper than going to a medical supply store. I found a waffle maker for $15 and small crockpot for $10. I was pretty impressed with the fabric shower curtains only for $10 and the comforters for $25 - $35 too. It's located inside a shopping plaza near a very popular Beauty Depot next door, however there are ALWAYS several homeless people walking right up to you asking for money. And by the Beauty Depot there's some women who set up a table to ask for donations. So yeah...I didn't really like that part of it much. The store had a steady stream of customers, primarily black (like me, in case you didn't notice). There were only 2 workers in the store: a cashier who always had a line of customers since there was no one else at a second register, and another worker who was in the store helping customers who needed to find things. They seemed like they were wanting to get through the work day and I don't blame them. It's been a while since I've been to Family Dollar, but I will come back to rack up some savings. When my mom asked me to go I didn't even know where it was and this location was not on Yelp, I passed it on the way to a location that was further out, so I actually added them to Yelp. I've been to Beauty Depot before so I know they have been here for a while, it just didn't come to mind.

The bad: Sometimes stuff is past the expiration date. Note: WAY past the expiration date. I found some stuff that expired in 2009.
