Unpriced items throughout the store. Had to flag down a few department managers to explain what the…read morehell is going on. No signage, No pricing placards. Probably short staffed. Lousy way to conduct business. Once the pricing placards were found and placed on the given items, I was still blown away as to how severely over-priced their "sale" prices were.

We recently came here to shop for some specials and as usual, the item we were looking (value pack…read moreof a meat item) for was exhausted. We asked one of the guys working there if we could just bring two of the smaller packs to the register and get the deal. He said...sure, I think that would be no problem. Sure enough, when we were checking out, we asked the customer service rep if that was ok and she said sure, we can do that for you. Very friendly, very helpful and very customer focused. It was a pleasure doing business at this particular Stop and Shop.

This is the worst location in the area for customer service. The front end manager (heavyset,…read moremiddle-aged woman with long straight hair) is the worst. She is just miserable all of the time. Zero interest in actually being there and heaven forbid you need her to fix errors caused by the unpleasant cashier (older, middle-aged woman) I experienced last night. I asked cashier a few questions and she was confused by every one of them. I greeted her with a hello and asked how she was. Her response: "do you have a stop and shop card?" She seemed overly nice and chatted (for quite a long time) with the two ladies who cashed out in front of me, going over how much they saved and everything. As soon as it was my turn, it was as if the cashier was a different person. Very interesting as to why I think that might have been. Same with the front end manager. I'm going to continue observing their behavior should I choose to shop here again. I usually go to another location further away to avoid this location if I'm shopping after dinner. Seems to be a bit of discrimination among sexes. Both interactions with the cashier and front end supervisor (hopefully not manager) left me not even wanting to spend money there. I understand it is a busy time of year but when the attitude of employees changes based on the certain things about the customer, you have to ask yourself why that is. Hopefully these two are just in the wrong field of work and it isn't clearly what it appears to be. Just an awful experience that I'm still thinking about, almost 24 hours later.

I didn't think I was going to like it because it wasn't anything I would ever order. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the lemon and vinegar from the banana peppers was a perfect combination with the chicken. I am very impressed!

This Trader Joe's has been such a great addition to Providence. That whole area really needed a…read moregood food market, and this place fits perfectly. Every time we go in, we end up finding something new to try. Half the fun of shopping there is walking around saying, "Alright, what weird snack are we leaving with this time?" The store is clean, organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually staff the registers properly. There always seem to be plenty of cashiers working, so even when the lines look long they move quickly. You're not standing there questioning your life choices while someone argues over coupons for 20 minutes. The parking setup is also a huge plus. Having the garage parking with the elevator right up to the main level makes things incredibly easy, especially on busy weekends or bad weather days. Way less stressful than circling around crowded lots hoping someone backs out. The employees have always been friendly too, which honestly makes a difference. The whole place has a good energy to it. Quick shopping trip or full grocery run, this location just works. Definitely one of the better additions to Providence in recent years.

I headed over to 16 Basset street to only get supper sad that they are temporary closed. I sat for 5 minutes of sadness and then ended up going to Federal hill. I hope this place reopens soon. I have been to some locations where their produce section isn't as great, but here, I have always found what I needed and it's fresh.. The employees do a good job of restocking, and keeping items as organized as possible. They have a lot of self-check-out registers, and 1-2 human operated registers. I have never waited for more than 5 minutes in line. I always look forward to their weekly flyers to see what specials they have, some of which are really incredible. They do operate on a coin system for carts which keeps the parking lot clear of lingering carts. The parking lot is very spacious. This store is located in a plaza and around a lot of good businesses so it's a good area to run errands, eat a meal, and grocery shop in the same trip.
