I got a hardcover oversized edition of the DC miniseries "Watchmen" listed for $40.00 for $7.00! Star Wars and Super Hero action figures for half the price than what Walmart sells them for. Excellent deals on cereals plus items like coffee (40 kcups box for just $9.99 on one brand). Great prices on items such as body wash and shampoos. Cool discounted electronics. I bought a floor turbo fan for $30.00. They sell some really nice rugs plus bath, bed & kitchen items, super cheap car items like windshield wipers and seat covers, yard items and more! The staff is friendly and you can see they work hard so treat them nice---they're helpful and accommodating (hope it stays that way). Every Thursday is when the new stock comes in. They give 15% off coupons on their rewards program. I take a trip there weekly to discover great bargains--especially on books, toys and food! But today, we saw something in their Sturbridge, MA store we had never seen before. They sell wine! Yes, they had a big sign in the shape of a wine bottle hanging from ceiling wires directing us to their wine and beer section. I didn't see much beer, but I sure saw quite a few bottles of wine. Who knew? That was just one of the revelations we had while shopping in their aisles today. The main revelation was just how large and neat and well stocked this store is. Their pricing is about the same as we've seen in other OSJLs, and that means pricing is pretty good. We spent a teense over $20 on an eclectic assortment of Polar Orange Dry soda ($1.99 for a six-pack), a container of curry powder (OSJL is our "go to" store for spices), parchment paper, some beef jerky and beef sticks, some soup and entrée mixes, two boxes of tissues, a container of chicken broth, a box of cereal, and a container of breadcrumbs. A very nice haul for the price. OSJL is an interesting franchise -some locations are small, cluttered, and unpleasant to shop in. Not here, we had a great experience, even if we didn't come out with a bottle of wine. Cheers!

Anyway, this is a really clean, inexpensive store. It's rather small for what it looks like, yet an average size for a discount store. They have amazing prices on basically everything, and some interesting products I haven't seen anywhere else in my travels. The employees were all very friendly and kind. Only wish would be to clean up the storefront (as it makes the store look dirty and unappealing) and add some music to the store (you could hear a pin drop in there!). This is a good small discount store sitting in busy Hyde Park center…read more I LOVE dollar stores. What I don't really like is when store's use the word "dollar" in their name, but DON'T sell everything in the store for one dollar or less. For instance, "Family Dollar" (which, ironically, is RIGHT next door to this store) doesn't sell everything for a dollar, and previous stores I used to go to (Dollar Plus in Dedham, Dollar Plus in Walpole, both of which have closed). Anyway, this store isn't a dollar store, but thankfully didn't call themselves it. I had to do a double-take to realize the actual name of the store. It's really called "Super Discount Store". In the past, driving by, and until today I thought it said "Super Dollar Store". Anyway, this store is great. It has some of the best discounts around and a great stock of everything. I have one major complaint. The smell of the store. When walking into anywhere, it should smell great, or at least passable. I didn't notice if they sold any air fresheners, but if they do they should spray some around, and if not, management should walk next door to Family Dollar and buy one for the store, the Febreze "spring" edition would be nice. Anyhow, this stores best variety is clothing. They have good clothing at reasonable prices, and an extra large selection of "Boston" wear, and summer sandals. Other than that, all of the departments are mostly pretty good. The storage and container department was a bit overpriced, but other than that, everything from medical to toys to office supplies was all priced well and had a good, decent inventory. The lady working was friendly, kind, seemed to be working hard to keep the store clean (good employee!). Overall, this is a good discount store that I will be coming back to and purchasing more from. 4 stars.
