I couldn't see myself shopping there. Well, then they opened and I ventured in. When I think of this type of store, I think of cheap crap that no one really needs. I wasn't prepared for the grocery section. While they don't carry a huge selection and I can't do a full grocery run here, they are super convenient for those times I run out of milk, eggs or flour. They also carry a nice supply of over-the-counter medicines, toiletry items, and greeting cards. The staff here is always friendly and a couple of them always remember me when I go in. It's nice to have friends wherever you go. A place where everybody knows your name! Okay--so they don't really know my name but you get the point. So, in the end, I might have been the loudest complainer of this store opening here, but now I'm one of their biggest fans. Go figure.

I don't think I have frequented a Family Dollar store as much in my life as I have in the past…read moreyear. I have two within miles from me and both serve there purpose so well. They pretty much have everything in here! Toiletries, clothes for the whole family, grocery items, items for your home, shoes... I mean... Every time I go in here I leave out with what I was looking for and additional items. This store makes me want to walk up and down every aisle several times just to make sure I seen all they have to offer. Busy... not that much. People do come and go often, but it seems either it's busy at once or not at all. From the two handful of times I have shopped here, I have never had to wait in line any longer than a few minutes. I love it here!! This store is located in a shopping center that's pretty much ran it's course. I wasn't in the area when it was fully operating, but I can imagine it had its days. Right now alongside Family Dollar - you can visit: Metro T Mobile, ABC Store, some kinda rent to town place, Check Cashing... to name a few. A few others may be near, but I recall definitely seeing these spots listed above. Don't count out Family Dollar if you have one in your area!! Have fun and enjoy life :)

I was excited when I first saw the Publix in Suffolk, Virginia. The store is beautiful inside. I…read morelove how they've got the subs, sushi, cheese, olives, pizzas, and all the grab-and-go foods set up right as you walk in the door--perfect if you're just coming from work and need something quick. I walked around the whole store, and while it looks nice, the prices are high. For example, Nathan's hot dogs that are usually around $5 at other stores were $9.19 at Publix. That's not in everybody's budget. I wish they had better bargains like Kroger does. All I can say is, I went in once to check it out, thought it might be a regular shopping spot for me, but it's not. I wanted to love it, and I do like it for certain things--maybe if I want a sub, pizza, or some sushi. But for everyday, weekly, or monthly shopping, it's just not for me. On the bright side, the store was very clean, and the employees were friendly (though not super helpful). The customers seemed nice too. At the end of the day, it comes down to preference and price range. I'd say it's worth trying at least once to see if it fits your needs.
