One of the most frustrating issues involved the appraisal. We were led to believe that the appraisal had been scheduled, only to later discover that it had not been handled as expected. This caused unnecessary confusion and delays during an already stressful process. As a result of these issues, our closing date had to be extended, creating significant inconvenience and uncertainty for our family. Purchasing a home is one of the most important financial transactions most people will make, and I expected a much higher level of professionalism, transparency, and follow-through. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Roberto Castillo to anyone looking for a mortgage advisor who is proactive, communicative, and committed to keeping a loan transaction on schedule.

We hand over our IDs to the teller and after hanging out for a few minutes - he lets us know that that service can only be done by appointment. We asked - even as a beneficiary? Yup. So a process that in many more advanced systems is an online form requires you to schedule an appointment even though they have several employees waiting around. So unbelievably frustrating! My mom closed her accounts awhile back and recently moved back to the area - when she did, she was re-added to my accounts because she was on several years ago when I was a minor. We asked if we could get that taken care of there? No. Also by appointment only. So we had to take additional time off work because the latest appointment offered is 3:45?! I wouldn't show up to the bank without an appointment and explicit outlines ahead of time of what you need because GNCU is definitely not customer centered.

I found Christina when I was having real problems with my last agent. They were challenging to unravel but she did it. She also pins me down regularly for reviews to ensure we have the coverages that we need (not too much, not too little - if your agent doesn't do these reviews with you that's red flag #1!) Above and beyond. Here are some examples: It's been like 5:00 on a Friday and I forgot I needed something crucial, she's on vacation with her family and she still figures it out! This week my daughter was in an accident. Her insurance was through another company and Christina was the one I called to walk us through what to do (on her cell phone, after 5:00!). I wanted to do some creative investing using life insurance/annuities (non standard stuff). She "got" what I was looking to do and unlike the other places I'd approached (who just said "no - you can't do that" ) she did a lot of research to find the way it could be done and at the costs / returns I was wanting. There are so many more examples but the bottom line is insurance is not exciting to talk about at all or to think about. But you need to and will be so grateful you did on the day you need it!!!
