I've found obscure Italian-purse-designer brand purses for sale at a more local version of their price, and on a clearance markdown or two. However, my most recent trip was to find shiny bags as I am a big fan. The TJ Maxx was wide open under the humble awning as the entrance to the store. The aisles were neatly organized, and chock full of a variety in each department they stocked. To my best recollection, from clockwise to the left of the entrance to the right with the cashier line, I found Luggage, Purses, Cosmetics, Jewelery, Perfumes, Shoes. After I found some shiny bags (ha!), the rest were something like: Bedding, Cookwares, Bakeware, Silverware, Spices, Stationery; maybe Shaving and Technology? Followed by Pet Toys and Goods and other sections. I found Children's Books, and additional Candies outside the spice section up front. If you've never been to a TJ Maxx or Marshalls, visiting this TJ Maxx beside Stop and Shop is a wonderful example of the brand and the type of store. I've found many products in the past that have lasted me years, like colanders, soap with dispensers, salad spinners, art supplies, and so on. TJX also donates to local communities, like Head Start programs. For a local brand, they deserve worldwide recognition for their work. I, also, deserve a shiny bag budget.

The only thing really remaining from those days is the movie theater and the JC Penney and they have repurposed the space to be big box stores on the outside that are accessible from the street. I really didn't realize the mall was still contained within but I walked in an entrance and realized I was inside it. The photo shows the food court which you walked through to access the movie theater. Wow, I feel a little Stranger Things. I'm wondering what powers lurk behind or under this mall. It's a little creepy and a little nostalgic all at once. The food court took my breath away. Enjoyed my trip down memory lane.

The area offers up quite a few charity shops, maybe because of the College town? Completely love knocking around and looking for new treasures. I wish today I had noticed the young guy on the register, he was super friendly and we chatted about books and history as he rang us out. I do wish the bathrooms consistently had toilet paper so I didn't have to track down a worker. So if you go in to shop, make sure you look at the dispenser first. Quite a few NWT items I bought today and a few very well used decorations for my daughters new home.
