    Walmart, Hadley MA

For those who care about such things, this is not a full Walmart Supercenter. They have a limited grocery section with no produce, meats or dairy. You can pick up a few bits here but not a full shop. They do have electronics, housewares, sporting goods, toys and such. The restroom was surprisingly clean. This store does not allow overnight parking. There are clear "two hour parking only" signs. [Review 18419 overall - 1139 in Massachusetts - 1941 of 2022.]

Good Walmart. Not as crowded as others I've been to. got thru the line pretty quickly. Washrooms were clean, and the service was nice.

While in Hadley we decided to stop in at Walmart to pick up a few items. The store was well packed with goods, but some of the aisles were disorganized. The staff here is typically pleasant, but what I have noticed is that the experience changes when school is in session. At times the check out aisles are long but that has changed a bit since they put in the self checkout section. Overall, not a bad Walmart, but it could definitely use better organization. Their are other better Walmart locations within driving distance.

Great selection of cards and gift wrap! They also have Jewish cards for bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, and other occasions.

But the main reason I am writing this review is to praise Magda at Big Y, who took care of everything for my son's 5th birthday party there. She was so wonderful with the kids, and gave an amazing tour. Our little party guests were so captivated to see the behind-the-scenes action at a place they've been to countless times before while their parent shopped. Unfortunately, staff cannot take gratuities, so the least I can do is sing her praises with an online review. She organized the whole event, decorated the party room with care, and arranged for all the food/beverages to be at the room, as well as cupcake decorating to be set up--and cleaned up! We could not be happier with her attentiveness, and for conducting an awesome Big Y birthday party to remember.

I stopped in yesterday, 3/16/22, and they give me this BS story that all of the registers are down, except 2, but I can still download the app and also save ten dollars. People should seriously contemplate the kind of world we are moving in to, where we are all pawns lying to each other, to further enslave ourselves into the automated digital system. This type of system eliminates jobs, and feeds into the surveillance state, by tracking everything we are buying. Customers should be treated like people, as opposed to a commodity, where everyone's personal data is collected and sold off as a product. Now, if what I'm saying sounds a little crazy, let me ask you a question: In a nice world, do we flagrantly lie to people that registers aren't working, making people wait 30 minutes to check out of the store if they don't embrace your new technology? If this happens to you, and you care about living in a future where we still love each other, and treat people with real dignity and respect, I recommend shopping somewhere else. Don't allow the system to force you into their authoritarian nightmare world. Rather, you force them to be more caring about their employees and customers.

Tonight I wanted to give a shout out for the Tres Leches Cake which is FABULOUS! It's been available from Boston to Worcester to the Hadley locations and is always an item I pick up. It's near the bakery area but always in the separated refrigerated section and sold by the slice. Cold cuppa moo juice and voila¡ heaven !

They did. So I came back a THIRD time and ordered it AGAIN, just to see if they can still keep their vegan cheese melted just right on top. It was incredible, AGAIN. Now that I've gotten this out of the way, ask where it is on their new menu as it is under revision--I don't like the tempeh version as much. Onto the rest of the atmosphere of Cushman. One of the most pleasant features of Cushman Market and Cafe is that it is nestled at an important corner in northeast Amherst. You need to travel further west to get to The Mill District and not much opens there early, and there's little else I can recall in the other cardinal directions. It's a pleasant trip, with plenty of parking in front, behind, and in a strip of side road across the street. I've never been in the market, so let me keep talking about the Cafe. The atmosphere of the Cafe is wonderful, with locals, safety officers, and regulars all visiting at each meal hour from breakfast to lunch. Nestled inside what looks like an old barn, complete with doors still hanging, Cushman has memorabilia from decades of music, sports, politics, and news frozen under acrylic, different for many of their tables. The café seems to have at most 20 chairs, and the staff behind the counter will deliver it to your table, call your name, or leave other orders by a stand near the back entrance. Cushman Cafe offers a variety of meals, alongside baked goods and freshly mixed café drinks. While I'm not a fan of the switcherels, I have enjoyed their dirty Chai lattes, iced teas, fresh coffees, and free water if I recall in a pinch. They have gender neutral bathrooms--which is great if you're tired of waiting in line for one of two as they are large but single occupancy. They offer cold panini sandwiches, hot panini, all sorts of eggs, egg sandwiches, and egg breakfasts, vegan and vegetarian options, alongside a seemingly visible carnivorous focus for their new menu's default. If you had a chance to hop on a bus and travel around Amherst, or you were passing through to the highways, Cushman Cafe is worth a quick stop. I've rarely had to wait long for my meals even in busy hours, and this is because of the large and competent kitchen, who--if you'll remember--can get a delicious sandwich right any day of the week. I hope cell service returns there!
