The gentleman who runs the place is very abrasive and a bit suspicious. Tried several times to strong-arm me into buying the wrong product even though he originally said he could fulfill the order as requested. He spammed calls to my phone in the middle of a work meeting and wanted to charge twice as much, claimed there were supply issues and I had to make a decision instantly. My husband and I weren't willing to do that and he abruptly hung up. Was able to ship the same thing from another Texas business for half as much within a week. read more

This is a small business with a great selection. It is McDonald's vs. Magnolia Cafe. We've been to Dollar Tile many times and have always been pleased with their great selection, quality, and excellent customer service. Everyone there has been helpful and friendly every time. Their selection is amazing and their knowledge of everything they sell is on point. Where do I start?? Let's just say that Mike from Dollar tile will go above and beyond for his customers. We had an issued with our floor and as soon as I called Mike, he got on the phone with the vendor to find a fast solution for my delicate situation. We explained that my mom had just passed and we were in the middle of floor installation but couldn't continue because the contractor found a defect on the floor and now everything was put on pause. Families would start arriving soon and I needed our house back to some normally. He tried his best to workout a solution with the vendor so we could get our floors finish, so I could just concentrate on the passing of my mom. Unfortunately, the vendor would not work with Mike and made things harder for everyone. Mike has been in contact with us through the whole process. After one month today, the vendor eventually agreed with the original request from Mike. Mike was sweet enough to have the floor delivery to our house at no additional cost, so I wouldn't stress anymore. I would do business with Mike again, though I would never purchase that vendor's products ever again. Thank you Mike and may God continue to bless you and your business. read more

Not really sure why these guys catch such a bad rep. I certainly can see how they may come off a little "different". They make sure you know they have great, high quality selection and they sure do. My original tile order was delayed because it was discontinued, but they ordered a better, commercial grade replacement at no extra charge. I am extremely satisfied with my order and the service. It was pretty painless, other than swiping my credit card. They have some very high quality product and also some great, great selection. Its a definite stop for anyone making a tile run! read more

Stay away from this place! We recently visited Dollar Tile to see if we could find a few sample tiles to take home and see how they would look as our new backsplash. The whole time we were there the lady was on a personal phone call on her cell and didn't seem to care much about anything. That didn't really bother me much at the time. We ended up picking three different tiles to take home. Two of these samples were defective/broken but we didn't care since we knew they were samples and would later return them. After making the decision that none of these were going to work, I took a ride back out to Dollar Tile (about 30min away). When I arrive there were two gentleman there, one who was washing his car. I brought the three tiles in with my receipt and the one gentleman (the owner) proceeded to tell me that we only had 10 days to return the tile and it was past the 10 days. I kindly apologized told him the lady who helped us knew we were buying them as samples which would be returned and she never said we only had 10 days. In a very degrading tone and raised voice he told me that she always tells the customers they have 10 days to return the tile. He then backtracked by telling me they don't have to tell us there's a 10 day return policy because its in fine print on the receipt (as if everyone reads the fine print). He continued his preaching by telling me they have a 500 page policy book and she can't He said the return policy is He was right though, it was there. The owner decided he would take back two tiles but the one was discontinued so he couldn't take it back. He then asked about the one tile that had a missing piece. I explained to him it was missing when we purchased it. He was acceptable to this and was going to take it back. However, he needed my wife's credit card (which I did not have with me) to run the return. A few days later my wife drove out there to return the tiles with her credit card. The owner told her he could only take back one of the tiles as the other two were broken. She explained to him the they were in this condition when we bought them and that it was her understanding the one tile could not be returned because it was discontinued. He then told her (in his degrading voice) that wasn't the reason and he wouldn't take them back because I had the missing piece in my pocket! He LIED right to her face and she knew it. It's one thing to say we have a 10 day return policy and apologize for not being able to take the return. It's another to degrade your customers and then LIE right to their face. There's more I could go into about this place but I'm sure others will share their stories as well. The point is, STAY AWAY FROM DOLLAR TILE!!! read more

Mike could not have been nicer! Not only was he super helpful on our first visit, but he was also on our second and third visits. Our contractor VASTLY over estimated how much tile we needed for the job (estimated we needed 450 sq ft, when we only needed 80 sq ft). When we realized it, we immediately went back and spoke to Mike. He was so gracious and understanding, allowing us to return the tile we didn't need. These guys are awesome. I needed some simple, black and white hexagon tiles. I found only a limited supply at Lowes and Home Depot and struggled for weeks on how to make this border around my bathroom with a field of white and black hex tile in the middle. I finally remembered seeing Dollar Tile on the freeway and stopped by. They were great. They knew exactly what I was talking about, exactly what I wanted and they were half the price of the big name stores. They even threw in several dirty and broken sheets for free. Went I to Dollar Tile to rent a UHAUL. Truck was clean and worked well. Service was fast and friendly. When I returned, the tire had a blowout (not sure when that happened since the truck has dual tires in the back) the owner waived any fee for the damaged tire. I had to wait around a bit and started talking with Jorge and Mike and looked at the tile. Realized I am doing a home renovation and needed my son's bathroom re- tiled. Picked out great tile and got a great price. The installers are coming by tonight to give me an estimate for installation. Will update afterward on that service. All in all, a great experience. I even had to return about 10 boxes (less than 1% of entire order) due to a manufactured defect in the tile. Dollar Tile exchanged all defective tile boxes, no questions asked! Also, I have a friend working in flooring and they could not even come close to matching the price Dollar Tile quoted. My friend quoted at around $4.50/sqft, Dollar Tile priced me at $1.85/sqft!!! Customer BEWARE! The only reason this business gets one star is because Jorge the sales rep was trying to be helpful and answering all of our questions. The tile we chose was in stock and we also purchased all of the things needed for installation through them. The moment I signed my receipt, the smile from the guy at the desk disappeared and the tone of his voice changed as he declared there were no returns or exchanges accepted, I gave him a puzzled look and he told me to glance at receipt that it was clearly stated. When I got home and our installer inspected the product, the accent tiles had glue between each piece and the small pieces were not aligned (the one they showed us was perfect). The 12X24 tile even though it was in the original packaging had a lot of tile with chipped corners, and some were so warped they could not be used. I just want to advise to go to a reputable establishment where if you accidentally purchase an extra box of tile or the product is defective, they will do the right thing and accept the return or exchange. read more

Dollar Tile ROCKS! Literally! Seriously though, I just recently purchased some tile for my office build and the customer service was excellent. They were super busy and still took the time to make sure i was thoroughly informed(as this is my first attempt at tile installation). They helped me find the perfect color and style to match the look I was going for, answered all my rookie questions, and gave me more "bang for my buck" than anywhere else I've found. An let me tell you, I've been everywhere pricing this stuff. The deal was so good i even worked in some limestone pavers and about a quarter ton of rock on my budget.
