The store was clean, well organized, and merchandised well. For a weekend, they were understaffed and customers galore, so the wait time in line was long but once we got to the register, the service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. I'd come back if I were in the area but sad to hear that all Big Lots are closing and many have already closed! Stop in to get stuff up to 30% off if you have one near you.

I was in Delware in October on business and stopped by the Christiana Mall. I walked in because I was intrested in buying some shirts I saw online for my husband. They had them but I didn't buy them. If I would've bought them, I feel I would've caused too much of an inconvenience to the employees. So when I entered the store it was around 8pm, they close at 9pm. The Cashiers looked at me and my collegue like oh crap someone is in here. We weren't even greeted, there was 3 employees there and no one said welcome in or even hello. They just stared at us. I started browsing around and saw that they were counting the cash register money on the cashier counter. I thought that was odd since closing was at 9pm. It felt pretty obvious they were done with the day so while I did see what I wanted, I walked out and instead ordered it online.

Management was also inconsistent. I was helping look for the lost keys and rolling around on a chair, which multiple employees and another manager were fine with. Then a different manager saw me and yelled at me in front of others instead of addressing it calmly or privately. To make things worse, there were broken candles and glass shards under the shelves, which is a serious safety hazard. Between the disrespectful comments, poor management behavior, and unsafe conditions, this was not a good experience.

Deals can be found here, just don't rush in thinking you'll be able to locate something straightaway. The workers on the floor have been less than helpful, in my experience, but the cashiers have always been friendly and somewhat knowledgable. If you go on a Sunday, parking can be tricky because there is giant strip mall church next door and the parishioners use a lot of the spaces. Other than all that, if you love to hunt a deal, Ollie's can be fun.
