Just this Sunday, Nov. 9th I purchase a wagon for $120 for my granddaughter and when I went there the employee brought out a folding chair??? It had the correct tag on the it from the item/date of purchase. As I mentioned, this has happed to me 4 times now. I know many people are praising them for getting a good deal...Not such a good deal when they don't have your item when you go there to pick it up... Get your act together please... The employees in the front of the house are AWESOME! I always give them a tip for going in the back and getting my items. They always have a smile on their faces and try very hard. It stinks for them when they bring me out the wrong item... Then the lines continue to grow out the door and the customers look like they want to rip someone's head off... If you want to add more items to your daily auctions, add employees to your front desk... How's that for a concept...

So I walked in expecting one thing...and left wondering why I hadn't shopped here years ago. The store was clean, organized, and packed with recognizable name brands at prices that honestly made me do a double take. Every aisle seemed to have another great find, and instead of feeling like I was on an episode of Storage Wars, I actually enjoyed browsing. The employees were genuinely friendly, smiled, and seemed happy to help. That alone sets Ollie's apart from a lot of retailers these days. And I have to give a shout-out to whoever curates the music. Instead of the usual elevator soundtrack that makes you wonder if time has stopped, it actually made shopping enjoyable. Then I found out they have a 30-day return policy. That completely caught me off guard. I honestly can't remember the last bargain or closeout store I visited that confidently said, "If it doesn't work out, bring it back." Great prices are one thing, but standing behind what you sell says a lot about a company. The biggest surprise wasn't how much money I saved--it was how much confidence I had shopping there. Ollie's doesn't feel like a place that's just trying to move leftover inventory. It feels like a company that genuinely wants customers to come back. Needless to say, they earned a new customer. Tons of great items that are absolutely bargains from cheap snacks, even liquid death cases! There's books, automotive, suitcases, bathroom, kitchen products and so much more. It's a newer store with tons of customers taking in this exciting new place but I will say one of my complaints is that me and my wife experienced lack of toilet paper in their restrooms. Not the cleanest store nor are they as humerously engaging like their Ohio stores. Wouldn't mind coming back again!

Household items for cleaning or anything else. The prices are cheap for most things. Hispanic and Latino owned business. It mostly caters to this population that lives around here. There's lots of items in Spanish but most are in English too. Find cheap liters of pop for a buck. There's also snacks like big bags of nuts for a dollar or more. Cleaning supplies and other household goods can be found. These are mostly for cooking and kitchens. Credit cards are mostly accepted. It has surprisingly good stuff even though it's cheap. There's a small parking lot but it's shared with a bank so be careful to be in the right spot or you could be towed.

Don't get me wrong this store got plenty of business and customers throughout our visit here. The store itself is chaos and unorganized. In the men's restroom it's absolutely awful because they have stuff thrown and shoved all over the bathroom and around the corners it seems like it's definitely a fire hazard just walking around. One of the weird things I found was a checkbook from many years ago. Nobody should be selling that that thing needs to be sent to the fire. They do have some decent finds but nothing out of the ordinary.

I'd been in a Big Lots (once before) in Joliet and found the prices to be quite reasonable, but the store kind of dingy and picked over. However, the minute I'd walked into the new Lockport location, I could see that this store was much lighter and better laid out as well. It simply "felt good" to shop there. Plenty of merchandise to cruise through and if you're not careful, you just may find yourself filling up your cart with things you didn't plan on buying beforehand but discover you can't afford to pass up! The employees are a delight to deal with, too, and I've never had a sour experience with any of them, even during the busy holiday season. I can actually say that I enjoy coming here and from time to time, find myself wandering in just to see what's new. Right now, holiday decorations are dramatically discounted, so I know I'll be heading back again real soon. You should, too!
